I was pleasantly surprised by this place. I read some of the negative reviews and was questioning such a large menu, but my delivery order(thru Eat24) was great. Food arrived before estimated time — almost never happens — and the delivery guy was very nice. Best of all, we ate everything! I ordered 4 cheeseburgers and fries with some Mexican Coke. Dill fries were the best, will definitely order again.

Gf and I Ordered this on Tuesday for delivery to the Marriot Hotel LAX. Quick service but food was WACK! Cold dry non seasoned fries. Chicken wings were big huge unappealing chunks drenched in a thick BBQ sauce ugh. Gf had a burger, only ate half and her fries were horrible also.

Wow… I placed an order through Unilocal and Eat24 last night at 11:10pm. I called at 12:30am to see where my order was and the first gentleman who answered didn’t seem to know about my order, I was then randomly passed off to another man(I’m assuming owner or manager) and he asked me where I was located. I told him my cross streets and he said they should be knocking on my door any minute now. Well, 1:10am came and still no order. I called back asking about my order, the same«manager» asked me the same questions(where I placed my order, what my cross streets were, what I ordered) then proceeded to tell me that he already told me they left and they should be knocking on my door… really?! I told him he said that 45 mins ago and he just stayed quiet and had nothing to say. I eventually had to say«hello» to see if he was still there and he was. He then told me with a bitch ass attitude that«I already told you they’re on their way I dunno what else to tell you.» You wanna guess what happened? My order NEVER came. This used to be my late night spot for delivery but not anymore. I’d rather starve like I did last night then deal with this horrible service again.

OKOK at first I was very skeptical because some of these horrible reviews and photos. Yet this time I tried them for delivery. My order came in 30 minutes 15 minutes less then the expected time. The driver was nice came to the front door upstairs at 1:40am on a Friday. Even though we don’t even have a porch light. I ordered 6 chicken tacos two orders of jalapeño poppers yummy! The tacos are alot bigger then I thought they would be and the chicken was so delicious! The poppers came wrapped in foil still hot and really good ! I definitely would order this again as for the rest of the menu I’m not sure it’s pretty hard to mess up tacos. Plus when I called three different times the lady sounded really nice !

Amazing Cuban Sandwich from LAX Diner in Hawthorne. This place is not in the best part of town. Actually they keep the door locked at all times. That didn’t really make us feel safe. But we know the area a little bit and it’s not South Central or anything like an East Coast Ghetto. Either way they stay open late and the owner was very nice and tried to be funny about the locked door situation. The décor was pretty cool and felt almost like you were eating in someone’s home or a speakeasy. The starters were whatever. Then we got the Cuban Sandwich. It was phenomenal. My cousin went to the University of Miami and I went to visit a bunch of times. This is a Cubano worthy of Miami. Great bread, warm, melty cheese, sharp yellow mustard, and that beautifully unctuous salty pork. What a flavor and texture combination. I forgot how good those sandwiches can taste. Cubans know food and nailed it with the Cubano sandwich. This place is worth a trip to the hood. I’ll be back.

NEVERORDERDELIVERY! Ordered at 10:45pm through Eat24 after a long day, they’re the only local delivery after 10pm and the food is decent, often a long wait though. Last order, delivery couldn’t figure out how to work our intercom system. Happened again this time, received a text. But, after getting dressed and trailing down to pick it up, he was gone. Contact Eat24, the driver cancelled our order. No call to us, just the text from Eat24 that he couldn’t get in. Re-order at midnight. Still nothing at 1:30am. Call Eat24… no answer at the restaurant. Call again at 2:30am…still no response from restaurant… cancelled the order. Restaurant called at nearly 3am, «Sorry, we couldn’t do your order because they didn’t send the paper.» NEVERAGAIN!

***DONOTORDERTHROUGH Eat24*** I placed a $ 23 order at 9:43 via Eat24 that was estimated to be delivered in 45 – 60 mins; after an hour, I asked Eat24 to follow up and they were not able to contact the restaurant. I received an update on my APP that the delivery would be at 11:17 so I continued to wait giving the restaurant the benefit of the doubt that they were SUPER busy since they were SUPER good… WRONG! I continued to wait but my stomach could wait no more. At 11:28, I was done waiting and contacted Eat24 to cancel my order and asked what wanted to know what happened to my order and received no apology or answer. Since I never received a call from the restaurant or Eat24, I will never order from either! I will be posting all over Social Media about my experience with Eat24 and LAX Diner!

Good diner food but terrible delivery service. If I ever eat here again, I will order for pickup and not delivery. I placed a $ 20 order via Eat24 that was estimated to be delivered in an hour; after an hour, I asked Eat24 to follow up and they reached back to tell me the restaurant needed a bit more time to make the order. Since it’s Valentine’s Day, I was totally understanding and patient. Over TWO hours later, I open my front door to go down to my laundry room and find my food sitting in front of my door. Cold. I immediately reached out to Eat24 support and they told me that, according to the restaurant, the driver called my number on file several times, got no answer, asked my neighbor to let them in the gate, came upstairs, knocked several times and was instructed by my neighbor to just leave my food there. However, I’ve been home the entire time and I’ve had my cell phone with me the entire time and I had not ONE missed call from anyone in between the time I placed my order and my discovering the order was left at my door. Not one. No knock. No ring of my doorbell. Even though my instructions on file clearly say to call me and not disturb my neighbors. Thankfully, Eat24 promptly assisted me after I reached out to inform them of my dissatisfaction. Once again, I’m understanding of things being busier than usual because of the holiday and I had no problem with waiting but don’t lie to me. LAX Diner has good diner food but this will be my last delivery order I ever place with them.

I got delivery this afternoon when I was at a cheap motel near the airport on a really, really long layover. The delivery guy was an adorable older gentleman. It was like my grandpa bringing me food. Chinese dumplings reminded me of my mother’s. Perfect parcels of flavour. The orange chicken was lightly breaded and nicely flavoured without being too salty. Good cuts of meat used too. The crème caramel flan had a pleasant flavour. Once again, just right. It was a bit too set, but the taste made up for it. Next time I’m stuck in the LAX area I’ll definitely look at the menu again.

Ordered delivery service and the food was school cafeteria type quality. They would not allow customizations of the menu items like extra sauce. Mobile Website was difficult to navigate so I called in. The person that answered the phone was hard to understand. I would steer clear from this place unless you are in dire need of «some food»

Ordered delivery for 2 burgers; One was ordered with no sauce. It took 1 hour and 30 minutes to arrive. Fries were good but the burger without sauce had mayo & mustard all over it. We tried to have them give us a partial credit or redeliver. The person on the phone was very argumentative claiming that mayo & mustard is not a sauce. They quoted another hour for redelivery but we would need to return the burger to them. I explained that the person who ordered the one without sauce started to eat just the burger because it had no sauce on it(only the bun/tomato/lettuce/bacon had touched the sauce). We were very hungry after waiting for an hour and a half for a delivery He then laughed at me and hung up because he wouldn’t accept the burger with a partially eaten burger despite everything else untouched.(aka the bun/lettuce/tomato/bacon) Pretty bad way to treat your customer. I thought I was being reasonable for asking a partial refund since we had eaten part of it and we did receive the fries. or a redelivery. Haven’t had bad customer service like this in a long time — surprised they are still around.

The live music with some simple, delicious food made our night much better. We were simply just trying to eat something quick and get back to our hotel room, but this place really helped us enjoy our night a lot more!

I should of known from the reviews not to order here. I order a breakfast burrito, French toast, platanos and a jamaica drink. I couldn’t eat anything but the platanos. Smh waste of $ 35. The French toast were so dried like old bread was used and the burrito had no taste at all. The potatoes were over cooked and it had no cheese and barely any egg. The drink was too sweet and thick. Smh very disappointed.

I WILLNEVERMAKETHEMISTAKEOFEVERORDERINGFOODFROMHEREAGAIN!!! I wish I could give them NOSTARS… I ordered for delivery tonight at 12:05am. I ordered a breakfast burrito, empanadas, horchata, and fried rice. My order was delivered to me at about 1:45am, almost 2 hours later. That would not have bothered me so much if they’d gotten the order right!!! My empanadas never came and instead I found gross looking vegetarian tacos that I could’ve made at home. My horchatas came without straws. And when I called to let them know, I kept getting sent to voicemail. I finally spoke to someone and he said that they were out of empanadas and that they called me and left a voice mail saying that they were substituting my empanadas with tacos. I explained to him that I never received ANY calls or voice mails and that I specifically asked for NOEGGANDNOONIONS in my fried rice. I’m a vegetarian and I don’t eat eggs, and I’m allergic to onions. I told him that I didn’t want to pay for tacos I never wanted, if they didn’t have empanadas they shouldn’t have charged me for them since I never agreed to that. Now I have to wait another 45 mins according to him, and I waited almost 2 hours for food that I will not be eating. UPDATE8÷8÷15: I called the diner today to ask if I had been refunded yet. I spoke to someone who said I had to call my credit card holder to be refunded for the food I didn’t order. Then he handed the phone to the manager, and I asked him if he had refunded me yet. He said«no, you have to call the company and ask them to refund you, then we will approve it». I said«last night you didn’t tell me I had to call anyone» he responded with«what difference does it make?» in a condescending tone. I replied«it makes a difference because now I have to call and request a refund for something I never wanted, and you were the one who decided to substitute my order with something else». He said«you need to call grubhub and ask them to refund you» and I said«I didn’t order through grubhub, I used Unilocal» and he said«ohhhh you used Unilocal.Well then it takes up to 3 – 4 days to be refunded. I’m pretty sure I already did it» and I asked«you’re pretty sure? Did you or didn’t you?» and he said«I told you I would, so I probably did it already» I said«you probably did? Did you do it yet or not? Do I have to wait a few more days for you to do it?» And he responded with«ma’am we are here to serve you, not be abused by you». I said«I’m not abusing anyone, I just want my refund» he then said«well I said I would do it, didn’t I? I told you I would so I probably did» and I asked if he was the manager and he said«yes I am, yes I’m the manager» in a high pitched sexist condescending way. After that I hung up, I have never been spoken to so condescendingly from someone who is supposed to help you when there’s an issue in their restaurant. I don’t know what woman f***ed this guy up in the head, but he obviously has no idea how to communicate professionally with women. After reading all previous reviews about this manager I’m surprised he still has a job. He is losing customers every day because of his condescending and superior attitude. All I wanted was a refund, and instead I was insulted and I’m pretty sure he still won’t refund my meal. TOTHEOWNER: I don’t understand how you can have such an arrogant and immature manager who insults customers inquiring about refunds. It wouldn’t be so bad if your food quality was actually edible. The only reason you have MOLD growing on your flan is because your manager doesn’t care about quality control and has no idea what customer service even means! Anyone who THINKS about giving this restaurant their business should really think twice…

This place is absolute garbage. Disguised as a tropical paradise this overpolished turd has to be the worst places I’ve been too. The food arrives tepid at best and the order is never accurate. The manager does not care about the service and even went out of his way to humiliate me in front of other guests and then screamed at me to leave. Avoid this place at all cost. And if you’re daring enough, don’t go when the manager is there, he’s the worst.

I’ve been ordering from here between 11pm to 4am for a while now. When ordering late, the delivery is gonna take longer than you would be used to, but that’s not an issue for me because the fact that it’s 24⁄7 delivery. Their menu is a grab bag of food from all over, I’ll go ahead and tell you my favorites and experiences with some menu items(I’ve had pretty much everything) The Carnitas burrito is amazing. Best bang for the buck by far. Nice big chunks of carnitas, slightly crispy on the edges, perfect. If you like chips you are gonna have to order some, cause they do not put a lot in.(good chips, they are not shitty bagged chips) the burritos are a good size too. The Carne asada is pretty good, but the carnitas is actually great quality(and cheaper than the Carne asada) if you are super hungry and want extra carnitas, it is 3.50 more. So that would be 10.45. It’s much more cost efficient to just get 2 burritos instead for 13.45. Their guacamole is good. If they use sour cream, It must be only a little, it’s not that creamy more white than green guacamole. It’s got chunks. Lemony. Definitely add it to your carnitas burrito. Mr cheeseburger. Can’t go wrong with a burger with guacamole. The fries have dill sprinkled on FYI. Here’s the thing. Do not order medium rare. I’ve tried multiple times and each time it’s cold and raw in the center. You gotta go medium. Otherwise the burger is pretty good, not spectacular, but definitely good! The fish taco is solid. Always comes very crispy. I’ve had many, many worse fish tacos before. I’ve also had soggier ones at a sit down restaurant not delivered. The empanadas are good. Really good. But 3 bucks each! Way too expensive. I wish they were cheaper, or had like a combo. Cuban sandwich is pretty good, again, not amazing but still great(especially at 2 in the morning! The Mexican plates are all good. You can’t go wrong on that menu. The Dragon fried rice is surprising good! Made from steamed rice, it’s more like a Japanese style fried rice. It is not spicy on its own, they give you like a Chile sauce to pour if you want. It’s a Lil greasy, could use some more frying too, maybe you could request that. Either way I like it =) the portion is served in a standard 3 sectioned Styrofoam take out box, lines with a piece of foil and filled all the way up. Sometimes it’s a huge serving! Then Oriental salad is my go to salad. When you add chicken, they put enough grilled chicken to completely cover the top of the salad. Worth the 3 bucks. They don’t give a lot of dressing, it’s just enough for me, but I could see some people needing more. I’ve tried the miso soup and it was really good. I could tell it was made from miso paste and it had seaweed and tofu in it. But all the soups are 6 bucks, and the container is small. That’s the only thing holding me back from ordering them. I tried the beef teriyaki torta. Which is a torta with beef teriyaki, lettuce tomatoes and a scoop of white rice. Interesting concept but the teriyaki wasn’t up to my standard. It is a very sweet, not tangy teriyaki, like teriyaki sauce made from a non Asian brand at your local supermarket. I have high standards for my teriyaki, to others I’m sure it’s fine. I had the meat loaf a long time ago. I remember eating it all, but I wasn’t blown away, or ordered it again. I remember there wasn’t enough gravy(ask for more). Same with pork chops ordered once, never did again, but wasn’t disappointed. I’ve had some of the breakfast menu, but what really irks me is they do not have a standard breakfast plate. Like eggs toast hash Browns and a meat. It’s all Mexican breakfasts. They have the items, but no standard breakfast Plate?! You would have to order waffles or pancakes then add your meat extra, and request hash Browns lol. It would be like over 10 bucks

When I got the delivery menu in a bad cheap motel I was afraid. The design gave me the gut feeling of «you’re going to regret this» but heck it was 1am, I was hungry and too lazy to look elsewhere. Anyways I was shockingly surprised. The food was slightly above average and the service good. I got pick up; a simple order. Fried plantains and a cheese quesadilla. The plantains were a little too oily and had been fried in pretty old oil; you could pickup the flavor of other foods that had been cooked in the oil — chicken, fries, something burned at one time… The quesadilla was good(lots of cheese) and sure enough came with guacamole and pico de gallo as in the picture. No silly up charges either! So all in all I would come back, but only if staying near LAX and looking for cheap, quick take out.
