The food is always great here! And the owners are very nice, always making conversation with us when we stop by. They always have fresh made tortillas with your order. Try the tacos de asada and the pupusas, you won’t regret it! :)

The food is great and actually tastes like authentic Mexican food, but their prices are too high, I paid 13 bucks just for a gordita and a soda!!! that’s way too over priced!!! and the cooking lady can be rude at times, in one of our visits they charged my card 2 times by mistake but when I went back the next day to let them know they gave a big ass attitude, I been there a few times but I wont be going back again!!!

This is the real deal. Home made tortillas. Spicy red salsa. Fluffy chile relleno. Menu was in Spanish only. I could be sitting in a back road taco stand in Rosarito but i’m 5 minutes from home in Manhattan Beach. Another reason i love Los Angeles! Carne Asada tacos were so so, awesome Relleno & tortillas. Sweet & friendly owners and Mexican fresca & Coke!

I really wanted to give this place more stars only because the ladies were so super nice but I have to be honest about the food. I ordered the chili relleno plate based on another Unilocaler’s review. It wasn’t the worst I’ve ever had but it was really not very good. The sauce was bland and tasted like straight tomato sauce. I think if they had better sauce I would have liked it better. The tortilla chips were slightly stale and the salsa once again tasted like tomato sauce. I do have a preference for chunky salsa with onions, tomatoes and cilantro though and this was the same as the relleno sauce, straight pureed tomato no flavor really at all. I did like the beans and rice though. I’m an Az native and have grown up on homemade authentic mexican food that is to die for and this place was below average. But the ladies were very friendly and nice

The homemade tortillas were so good and the Pesole is a must try. I initially went there for the Menudo but ended up getting Pesole and I’m so glad I did. I love this little family run hole in the wall.

I just ate the best chile rellenos I have ever had at this small hole-in-the-wall restaurant. Big, puffy, filled with melting cheese and a thick, rich tomato sauce with trace of cinnamon. GREAT. Home-made tortillas were on supply and the salsa was great. The staff was great and friendly — I got to tell the woman who cooks how great her rellenos and tortillas were. Even the clientele was great. Everyone seemed to acknowledge everyone else, and on their way out each would wish me a good day. I’m going back as soon as I can to sample more from their menu. A true hole in the wall. Seems to be family run, and the service is very attentive. Although they had an «A» when I went, the cleanliness was a bit off. The handmade tortillas were the bomb though, and I enjoyed the chips and salsa. No beverage fountain, its by the bottle or can… no free refills, that always kills this perpetually thirsty Unilocaler. The huevos Rancheros was good, but a bit on the bland side… but I guess thats why they make salsa!

I love finding little secret spots to eat at. I discovered this little gem when I lived in the area. If you want authentic mexican food this is the place to go. This is no common mexican place, the older lady(owner/cook) provides a cooking style from her region and that is why I like coming here. This lady knows how to cook! The restaurant is family owned and they are very courteous, tending to you hand and foot. They make fresh tortillas on the spot and always ask you if you want more, and keep them coming. The various plates I have tasted have been very tasty(except for the mole i guess cuz it was pork and the sauce was too thick, but still edible cuz she used real chili). I’ve had breakfast, lunch, dinner and take-out, I can say it has been tasty indeed. The menudo here will bring you back to life if u have a nasty hangover. It is the best menudo I have ever had and I will not get it anywhere else. It’s huge! Not to mention the spices and flavors are incredible. The prices are not too shabby or expensive I say less than $ 10 for a meal and drink. I recall having a beer here, but I can never finish my drink due to so much food in my order.

Best togo resturant in South East Hawthrone. I drive by here every morning on my way to work and finally one day my boyfriend and I stopped in to see what was going on. The food was outstanding. I got simple chicken tacos and he got a big fat wet burrito and they both were to die for. And my simple little tacos really did fill me up! If you are in the area you MUST stop by here for some good authentic mexican food.
