I’ve been coming here since I was 12 for passport pictures with my mom. However, when I went alone to take an updated passport picture I never left so upset! Once I walked in the owner didn’t even greet me, I had to greet him! I told him I wanted to take a passport picture, so he seated me to take the photos. He snapped two pictures of me smiling, then he asked me not to smile for the next two shots. After taking the pictures, I thought he’d be considerate enough to ask me which I’d like, but he decided to choose the picture for me! Once they were printed, the picture he chose was me not smiling & it was hideous! I asked him why didn’t he ask me which picture I wanted & what was wrong with the picture of me smiling, he responded by saying«The government wants passport pictures of you not smiling.» What kind of BS! I said no, that’s a lie I want the one of me smiling. He printed the picture of me smiling, but once again didn’t ask me which I’d like of the two smiling pictures he took! By the time it was time to pay it came up to $ 11 for 4 photos. I had $ 9 cash, & wanted to put the rest on my card. He didn’t bother to tell me there was a $.75 charge, I had to ask! Poor customer service, unless you’re Korean! Worth going to CVS or Costco for passport pictures instead! Unless you want to deal with a disrespectful owner, & extremely poor customer service this is the place for you! Thumbs down!

I don’t understand the hype behind this place. When I arrived here, the neighborhood already gave me bad vibes. Upon entering the shop, no one came to assist me for a good five minutes. Another customer and I had to embarrassingly yell«excuse me» until a lady came out. She did not apologize for keeping us waiting, instead she asked«Who came first?» When the other customer was done being assisted, I was helped. I was charged SIX dollars for SIX2×3 prints.(Seriously?) I was thinking to myself: ««Oh I should have just gone to CVS … why bother supporting mom and pop stores?» When the prints came out, i reluctantly paid ten dollars. The lady took the money and thanked me. Um. Did you look at the money I gave you? You owe me four dollars. «I gave you a ten.» I told her. Once again, she did not apologize for yet another mistake. I left before I became increasingly frustrated. While walking back to my car, I looked at the photos and noticed how she cropped the photos without asking me and threw the white balance off a bit. Seriously? Lady, you’re paid to print my photos — not readjust my composition/editing. Never coming here again. 1 star. P. S. All your ‘portraits’ hanging on the wall are 90’s cheesy.

I’m not too fond of the city of Hawthorne but I needed to find a spot to get my passport photos done on my lunch break. Luckily it was only a short drive from Manhattan Beach so after passing it a few times down Hawthorne Blvd, I finally found it in the plaza with the 99 cent store(I should have read the other reviews more carefully). Anyway, I walked in around 1:27PM and was outta there by 1:35PM. I even took a few minutes to chat with the owner(he’s Korean, and I assumed he’s the owner). The photos came out well and the whole process took a little more than 5 minutes. The price was 11 dollars and he ended up giving me a *DFBK. I’ll definitely come back to this place if I need any photos done. *Discount for being Korean™

The name speaks for itself. I was in California on business during a holiday season and needed some quick & quality prints. The minute I touched down in LAX, I googled local print shops and this establishment was close enough(and one of the few that were open during the holiday.) I requested the order be done ASAP and that I was willing to pay for rush charges — the owner happened to be there and told me that the order will be rushed regardless. I get a call on my cell phone a couple hours later saying the order is ready — a couple hours earlier than anticipated! Superb quality prints — carefully packaged. Definately will return if I’m in the area. Judi S is right — just a small mom & pop store, but it is efficient. I’ve always prefered function to form anyway. Recommended for last minute jobs! Support small business!

This place has amazing backgrounds and packages to choose from and to make the photographing process easier for those not accustomed to having their pictures taken.

In the process of renewing my notary commission, I found out I’m now required to provide two passport-type photos along with my application. I’m smart enough to be able to do this at home, but too tired after a long day of work to complete the task. Previously, I used Walgreen’s for passport photos, but when the postal inspector rejected them during the passport application process, I knew I had wasted my money so I didn’t want to use them again. As I was driving to work on Hawthorne Blvd, I kept seeing this photo place with the words«passport photo» on the sign which got my attention in the same lot where Ralph’s, El Torito and the 99 Cents Only stores are and thought about trying them out, but didn’t know the name of the place nor what their hours where. I took a chance and dropped by after work today to check them out. Well, it turns out 4 passport-type photos take about 10 minutes to do for $ 11. They did a good job of taking the photo after I took my glasses off because of glare. They also prepare lots of other things with photos like cards, calendars, flyers, ads, family and group photography, too. And they sell cell cellphones and accessories as well. This place is not fancy at all, but it gets the job done.
