We bought a pre owned Ford Fusion from Lewis Motors about a year and a half ago. My wife and I found them, Lewis Motors, to be warm and friendly on the sales floor… however, this just a word of information to make you aware of something when buying a car from them. THISISNOTLEWISBUTTHEEXTENDEDWARRANTYPLANTHEYWILL(GUARANTEED) TRYTOSELLYOU. IFYOUHAVELOWSALESRESISTANCE, take someone strong with you to help you stay away from signing onto their extended warranty plan… IFYOUFEELYOUWON’T NEEDIT.. I feel good in warning people to stay away from the extended warranty as It’s expensive and you should read it very, VERY carefully and TAKETIME to make sure it is a good fit for you. They, when you are signing your sales paper work, will start out with a very high price for the warranty then work their way down in the price. So, if you want an extended warranty, keep holding on you can probably get them down about an additional 5 to $ 600.00. This was our experience. We have, through a day after yesterday experience, found the extended warranty to not be what we thought. We had a minor electrical problem that cost 83.00 to fix at the largest Ford Dealer in Southern Indiana(Evansville’s Towne and Country). We were 11,000 miles over on the vehicle warranty so I thought this MINOR repair would be covered under our extended warranty… as much as we paid for the extended warranty… NOTSO. 1. To keep from paying the 100.00 deductible, I would have to have taken it back to LEWIS for the repair. Since we have moved back to Indiana, this is not possible so now we will always, while we have this car, pay the 100.00. We were told it was bumper to bumper extended warranty… NOTNECESSARILYSO. It will be up to the person on the other end of the phone to determine«if» the repair qualifies. 2. Any repairs that are made under the extended warranty, you have to call the number ON your warranty plan for them to determine IF the repair is covered or qualifies to be paid for. So basically it’s up to the judgement of the printer of the warranty not the warranty itself to determine what is not covered or is covered subject to, in my case now, a 100.00 deductible. So what I have experienced is that the warranty is up to a phone call negotiation not the contract itself. Just my opinion from what I have experienced 3. Whatever you do keep extensive and accurate records of your maintenance. If you do not maintain, according to manufacturers instructions, the entire extended warranty could be voided. Follow recommended maintenance to the proverbial«T». I guess this is just common sense. Try and have all your maintenance done at LEWIS to keep warranty records. Just my opinion here. If you are going on a trip, and your warranty work is soon to have to be done, get it done at LEWIS before you leave on your trip. Just my hind sight opinion Just be careful and make sure the extended warranty is a good fit or you. There will be very high sales techniques deployed to get you to buy the extended warranty. The dealership makes very high commission on the sale of this ASWELLAS the under coating plan. Personally, I should have stayed in Great Bend for the Ford purchase at MARMIE’s FORD. We still have a home there in Great Bend and was taking my car to Marmi’s before we moved back to Indiana. Blessings on your journey.
