I sat on this review for a while waiting to see if I could make myself feel better about this experience. Unfortunately it seems I cannot.
I called the store a few times about installing a remote start on my pickup, and squared away the options they had available. When the time came to schedule the appointment I made the phone call to do so, since they have multiple brands available I specified Cobra, and was assured it would be no problem. During this conversation I inquired whether it would be possible for it to emit a «nice polite chirp», not a horn honk, when locking or unlocking, again I was assured they would take care of it.
The day arrived and I took my truck in for the install, which was to take ½ day.
Almost immediately conversation revealed that they were going to install a siren for the «nice polite chirp». A siren… I told them to simply leave it silent.
After around 7 hours they were finished and I paid them. Then they handed me my keys and the new remotes, which were some brand I had never heard of, certainly NOT the Cobra I requested and they promised.
I had already spent a day there, and paid, so I just expressed my displeasure and left.
They get the second star because the system does work and the job itself seems okay, but at the core of the mater, for over $ 400 I received virtually nothing that I requested and they promised…
