I’m a subcontractor who did a small job for them and have yet to be paid. The owner, Miguel, claims that since I was dealing with an employee that no longer works there, that I need to go after that ex-​employee to get paid. He claims he never approved for me to do the work. Even if that’s true, it’s not my fault. I was asked to do a job by a representative of his company, we negotiated a price, and I did what was asked of me. Funny thing is, the ex-​employee was using Miguel’s personal email address the whole time — so there’s no way Miguel can say he didn’t know about this, and he could have replied at any time telling me not to do the work, and he never did.
If this is the way the company treats people who do work for them, I wouldn’t trust them with my signs either. By the way, their website has been down for months and no one answers their phone, so it wouldn’t surprise me if they are out of business already.
