phillip the owner is a good guy but this place is way too damn expensive. always 30 or 40 cents more than other places in the area. I stopped going here because even though I like the owner. I dont like him enough to pay 3 to 5 bucks extra when I fill up. sorry phillip. lower your prices so they are just slightly above other stations in the area… but your prices are rape.

76 Gas station at Clawriter x Hwy 92. Best place to stop for gas or drink before getting on the freeway. Plenty of parking in lot and on street. Mechanics on duty. Near onramp for San Mateo Bridge. Gas prices are usually avg but not really high.

I am a frequent customer at the Breakwater 76 because I work nearby. They are located conveniently on Clawiter and 92 which makes it perfect for a quick stop. In fact, my day usually begins with Breakwater 76 coffee and a fill up. Their employees are always very friendly and take an interest with how their customers are doing. And they have added a restroom for customers since Simona’s post. I give it 5 stars and recommend it to anyone.

Breakwater 76 has one of the best mechanics around. Sal has been working on my cars for many years at B76. He is super-honest and knows his stuff. I go them for a lot more than just oil changes. Sal seems to do almost everything. I work on the other side of 92, so it’s convenient to drop off my car there for a couple hours. They used to drop off and pick me up from my office in years past. Then i would give them 6 stars!

This review is for the ice cream freezer only. It’s near my work so I have never visited the place for the facilities nor do I plan to even if it would make for a better Unilocal review. This is the 76 station off the Clawiter exit on the east side of the San Mateo bridge. If you get stuck trying to cross the bay, I highly recommend you pull off and take a gander into their good humor freezer. This gas station follows the rule of inverse desserts – the worse neighborhood the convenience store is located, the better selection of frozen treats. I think the turnover is pretty high so the individually wrapped packages are fresh. I always get gas here(even when I don’t really need it) for the Ben and Jerry’s Cones in Cherry Garcia, though someday I will try the Vanilla Almond. Its also one of the best stations in Hayward because unlike the gas stations on Hesperian near Chabot College, smelly men do not approach you while you are filling up your tank and demand money. EDIT: No public restrooms here.
