Nooooo! When did this place close?!? I was looking forward to their low quality cheese and super tender, thick sliced, steak strips for breakfast this morning. *insert supremely disappointed sad face here*

I took my family today, it was our first time. The place was completely dead, so we were seated and had our order taken promptly. We decided to leave after close to 30 minutes and still no food. Then my wife points out they’re putting fries in the microwave. We got up and I was ready to walk but she insisted we pay for the drinks. Pissed, I just paid $ 7 for drinks and bad service. We will NOT be returning!

Really disappointed that this is no longer diggers diners. It’s called choco’s diner. Less food options… Come on … super sad… this is our to go to place anytime. UnDer new management but we’ll see…

Cool environment, and I really only went because I love chocolate chip pancakes! Which were good, but everything I’ve gotten here is just a greasier version of what I could make at home or some local diner. Terrible coffee really wasn’t impressed. I did like the employees though, just not the food

Came here for the first time and enjoyed the food. Ordered regular Cajun fries, ball park fries and a patty melt.(My bf got the bacon cheese burger). Eh, the patty melt wasn’t to my liking, but I enjoyed my fries lol. Lol I recommend the Cajun fries though they’re really good! I’ll come here again and try something new. Overall, I enjoyed the customer service, waitress, and our food. I’ll definitely come back again!

Ordered the spinach omelet with fruit instead of hash browns. The omelet was pretty tasteless and the fresh fruit was awful. For an extra $ 1 for the fruit, it was at least 1 – 2 days old if not more and basically inedible. The plus side, the service is very good. The wait staff is very friendly and service oriented. I would have given 3 stars because of the service but because of the food, I just couldn’t.

Usually love this place, but the service today was utter crap. Took ten minutes for the waitresses, all who happened to be in pissed off moods, to come over to us and seat us. Then, we sat there for another ten minutes. Instead of brining us menus or water, they went back to go talk in the corner. We left. Absolutely ridiculous.

Today I took my wife, sister and niece here for breakfast. We got in about 9a. As soon as we walked in we were greeted and seated. Sonia was our server. We got the breakfast sandwich with the hot link OMG it was the best breakfast sandwich I’ve ever had ! My niece got the waffle Sunday. Ice cream before 10a? Why not ! Everything we had was fresh, fast and amazing! The service was top notch. Our server Sonia checked in on us frequently. I wanted to go home and take a nap and come back for lunch. Excited for this local place and look forward to our next visit! Thank you for an amazing experience.

First time here. Staff was amazing, I’m not a sandwich lover but there Incinerator sandwich was tasty. Great for families, very affordable. (The place does need better maintenance) I would definitely recommend this place.

One of my roommates posted a picture of a monstrous, glorious looking sandwich on Instagram, and ever since, Diggers has been a place I have wanted to check out. One evening last week, I was craving onion rings in the worst kinda way. A quick search on Unilocal revealed that the closest, highest rated joint selling them was Diggers. It’s got a bit of a strange location, being right next to the cop shop and not in your conventional restaurant building. But who cares, their food looked delicious. So of course we started with a basket of onion rings, which were beer battered and wonderfully crispy. Oh, and their ranch is thick and creamy. Delicious. I got a shake(they have over 20 flavors, although they were out of several). I had the Strawberry Oreo Shake, which was really good. Ever in search of the perfect burger, my boyfriend and I had to give Digger’s burgers a try. My boyfriend ordered The«Coffin» Burger, which is essentially the club of burgers, and I had the Jalapeño Jack Burger. We also got an order of garlic fries to share, as fries come separately(same with drinks). The burgers were large, and tasty. The patties themselves were nothing special, lacking a little in seasoning, but overall, with the toppings and everything, they were pretty bomb. The fries were good, but soggy, as I’ve seen other Unilocalers comment. If they had been cooked longer, and come out crispy, they would have been perfect. In closing, we had all of this for only $ 30, which is damned impressive, and the food was well worth it. The service wasn’t anything special, but we got everything we asked for, and the server was nice. I’m definitely going back to try more.(They deep fry desserts, have amazing looking waffles, and have a chili burger I’m very curious about.) Definitely worth giving a try.

Came here because of the really excellent Unilocal reviews that I saw and was incredibly disappointed. Service wise the place was pretty solid overall. What disappointed me over all of the food the quality of the food. I ordered the biscuits and gravy along with two eggs scrambled had the coffee with it as well. The biscuits and gravy had absolutely no flavor to it at all it was really bland and not exactly to my liking. I would have liked it more had the used a different type of sausage or maybe the gravy mix was just not what I wanted. One of the really cool things is the fact that they have a lot of unique items on the menu they have deep fried things that you would see at county fairs like Oreos Twinkies and things that will certainly stop your heart from beating at some point your life if you keep eating them. However that being said they all look delicious especially if you want to engage in those at some point your life. The décor was actually pretty cool I took a picture of a sign that I thought was really really really really fun I have a childish sense of humor sometimes. Really wish this place would have been a lot better for breakfast I’ll give it a shot again sometime soon but I was disappointed on my first visit.

If you’re looking for a solid meal, hearty portions, reasonable prices and really cool décor, this is your place. I love trying-out diners, since they’re all unique in their own way and Digger’s is no exception. I ordered the 3-egg, sausage, hash browns and wheat toast, while my friend ordered the breakfast burrito. Both meals were filled us up, which isn’t easy to do. Service was very good and the staff was very friendly. The place was quite busy on a weekend, but there’s a lot of seating, so we didn’t have an issue getting a table. I just know that my belly was content as I left.

I’ve enjoyed this spot since I found out about it a little more than 2 years ago. I’ve never on Gods mostly green earth wanted to try fried candy or cupcakes, but I had fried kit kats here… they weren’t bad, definitely sweet, and I had to try them… I enjoyed the batter it was fried in more than the candy itself. I’ve had breakfast, lunch, and dinner here many times, dine in and take out… I haven’t had a meal I didn’t enjoy to date. I’m a 80’s baby, and horror movie fan, so their drive in movie theater zombie/skeleton mash up art/décor is solid with me. It has an old school diner feel, and is usually pretty busy. I’ve never had to wait, the servers are quick and very attentive. They have a large menu, and I’d say it’s safe to say they have something for everyone. I mean I haven’t tried it, but any place that makes a «cheeseburger wrap» has to have something for everyone. The prices are good, the staff is super friendly and personable here… it’s a win win all day for me. I say dig in and dine @ Diggers.

Pleasantly surprised by Digger’s Diner! We originally went to the new Black Bear Diner that opened down the street but there was a 20 minute wait, and the food prep tends to take longer. If you’re in a hurry like we were, this is the place for breakfast! It’s also located two blocks away from the freeway entrance so happy driving :-) Pros: Most of the items on the menu are $ 6-$ 9 Seating is spacious Food arrived within ten minutes Staff is friendly, cooks are prompt Delicious food! $ 5.99 Pancake Breakfast: two pancakes, eggs, choice of hot link or other meat options. I was bummed to miss out on my favorite pancakes at Black Bear Diner, but Digger’s Diner did not disappoint! The pancakes are just as huge. Though it could’ve sat on the grill a bit longer for aesthetics(I like my pancakes golden brown,) they were not soggy at all! The batter is somewhat chewy and tastes… healthy? The hot link was sliced in half and grilled brown. It may look burnt but did not taste burnt at all! Eggs weren’t scrambled light as requested but it’s going to be okay. Eggs will be eggs: P $ 5.19 Curly chili cheese fries. With onions on top! Yes I’m guilty for ordering a HUGE plate of delectable fries for breakfast! which is why I’m only admitting it here with my fellow foodies hahaha. A must try! Tastes exactly what it sounds like. They seem to be popular for their Oreo pancakes based on Unilocal. They also have a variety of milkshakes and fried desserts, such as snickers oreos and twix bars! Pretty much anything that sounds like 2,000 calories, they’ll have. For the health conscious, they also serve oatmeal and fresh fruit. I personally can’t wait to try their crispy hash browns next time. Haha enjoy!

This place is A-OK in my book! We’ve been here four times because it is literally around the corner from our house. I’ve had the Digger’s Special twice. This puppy is a plate full of eggs, onions, peppers and bacon covered with cheese and a side of hash browns. It’s good and it’s filling. It’s not gourmet, but it hits the spot and it’s consistent. I had the famous breakfast sandwich once with sausage. The sausage didn’t quite fill the sandwich end to end. Still it was tasty and again… filling! Let’s just say you’re not likely to leave Digger’s Diner hungry. Last visit I had the breakfast burrito. Eggs, hash browns, bacon, cheese and… uh oh, jalapeño peppers(I must have missed this on the menu) wrapped in a tortilla. Once I removed the jalapeños(they were HOT and there were a LOT), the meal was tasty. I felt it would have benefitted from some salsa, sour cream, avocado or all three. I like this place and I’m glad it’s close. When we’re home on the weekend and don’t feel like cooking breakfast, this place hits the spot. The staff are very friendly even when they are very busy, and they are on the weekends. This place isn’t small, but if you don’t arrive first thing on a weekend, you may have to wait a couple minutes. I’d say it’s worth it.

When we’re in the mood for hearty junky comfort food we come here! Breakfast at Diggers is delicious and their portions are huge. I love anything country fried as well as the classic biscuits and gravy. Service is always on point even on super busy days.

Such an awesome, laidback diner in Hayward! The portions are overly generous, the prices are a steal, and the staff here are always friendly and willing to banter with you(if you’re into that kind of thing from the people serving you). The combination motorcycle gang/Dia de los Muertos décor is an interesting touch, but definitely makes the place stand out in my memory. I’ve never been disappointed by their French toast(my go-to here), and I know Boyfriend has never complained about the breakfast/lunch items that he’s ordered. The huge variety of milkshakes alone is a fantastic plus. There’s even some wraps for those of you who are more inclined to be healthy and watch your caloric intake. For me, they’re exactly what a diner should be: homey, a little grungy, with good ol’ American breakfast options that will stuff me to bursting. No frills, no mess — just your friendly neighborhood diner.

I was excited when this place opened up in the area, and I’m happy it’s still around for some quick and good eats! I’ve now been coming for years and miss the days coming over for lunch in high school and pigging out all the time, but I still make my rounds every so often! Though sometimes it’s messy, the food is always great, served hot, and super cheap for the portions you receive! Not to mention all the different milkshakes options you have! Their shake machine always seems to have issues, but when it’s running I always get one! I suggest trying the strawberry oreo, amazing! Breakfast, lunch or dinner this place will fill you up. From burgers, to fries, to waffles, to hot dogs, to milkshakes, to deep fried oreos, it’s. all. great!

Classic American in all its indulgent goodness! They were packed and understaffed, and I had very low expectations when I arrived. But I was very pleasantly surprised. They were pretty quick given the conditions. And very friendly. Our server was apologetic for not being as attentive and gave us a free dessert of a TON of fried oreos, Reese’s cups, and Snickers. Is the food healthy? Gosh no. But they’re fast, friendly, fresh and very tasty. Downside is this is not a good place for vegetarian, or any modern diets in general. Come in here only if you want to eat like a kid with no care about your body!
