Eden Early Childhood Development Center

My daughter started coming here when she was 5 months old, and she is now 9 months old. I am thrilled with the care she receives here.
Choosing a day care facility was one of the hardest things I’ve ever done, and I visited a bunch of them. The child care facility here is part of the Eden Youth and Family Center, inside what used to be an elementary school. It’s not the flashiest building, and the neighborhood isn’t the wealthiest, but it was by far the best day care facility I visited (and I visited some in much more upscale areas). My daughter is SO excited to see her teacher every morning, and that’s the best recommendation I can think of.
The center is divided into three rooms: infant, toddler, and preschool. The infant room is spotlessly clean, with plenty of interesting toys at baby-​level. All of the children, even the infants, participate in hands-​on activities. My daughter has finger-​painted paper snowflakes, played with the sensory table, and explored real pumpkins outside. There is plenty of space for the babies to move around (if they’re mobile) and lots of areas for them to safely explore. There is a separate nap room, and each infant has their own crib. The staff here is small, so your child really gets to know everyone, and staff turnover is very low, unlike some of the big child care chains out there. The whole facility is set up to help your child reach all of their milestones. Since starting here, my daughter has learned how to clap her hands, wave, point, crawl, and pull herself up to stand. They even weaned her off of her pacifier so that she could learn different self-​calming skills. This is not one of those child care places that just plops your kid in front of a DVD and babysits them until you pick them up.
For fellow nutty-​crunchy parents, the staff here have been more than happy for me to send cloth diapers for them to use on my daughter, and they are experienced with handling both fresh and frozen breast milk.
