Our first time to visit Hayward and parked in the public lot off B Street and saw the sign. Saw the song and went in. I thought I might be coming in the back door because the kitchen is to the right. Nope that’s the tiny shop. It was about 3pm and I got 2 beautiful croissants, a lemon muffin, a blueberry muffin, and a half dozen almond cookies, plus a meringue cookie. Who makes those anymore? I paid $ 8. It may be because it was late but it may just be a place that doesn’t charge ridiculous prices for flour and butter. Go here eat their wonderful food. Everything is made from scratch in house.

Whenever we’re in the neighborhood and the shop is open, we’ll swing by for the almond cookies and pastries we can taken home for breakfast the next day. The bakery’s main business appears to be large orders for restaurants and caterers, so it’s not surprising that there’s usually limited and mixed selection in their small retail section. Still, everything we’ve picked up here has been excellent.

Had fresh warm cressant that were amazing. Tried the loaf of banana bread and pumpkin I believe which were awesome as well. But the fresh cressants were the highlight. It’s a hole in the wall place that primarily does whole sales.

This must be one of Hayward’s best kept secrets. I’ve lived in this area since 1988 and just discovered this bakery today. It wasn’t easy to find. Apparently it’s B St address puts it in a parking lot to the left of the Salvation Army. The place looks like it’s been there forever. Not much to look at. However what limited selection they do have tastes GREAT! And everything is very reasonably priced. I got a bag of 4 giant day old muffins and a loaf of pumpkin bread all for five dollars. The pumpkin bread is excellent. I put the muffins in the microwave for 30 seconds each. They too taste wonderful.

$ 1 Chocolate croissants and muffins?! Be it, I walked in around 8pm. I’m sure they have been there all day, it wasn’t anything 15 seconds in the microwave couldn’t fix. Why pay three times the amount for something half the size? Gotta support the small businesses!

Cutting back carbs but I can’t cut out Fink’s. The bread is fresh and reasonable priced. This is a local bakery that should be enjoyed and visited often.

It’s definitely a mom and pop shop. Very reasonably priced, we got a bag of cookies, a scone and 4 meringues for $ 4.5. The meringues are very good, scone is pretty good, after heating up in the oven for 10mins. Cookies strike me as Asian style(I guess the one I choose.) Overall very happy with the quality /price ratio.

The boy and I here always stop by Fink’s bakery when we are in downtown Hayward. They sell their baked goods for pocket pleasing prices. Their scones are scrumptious! We bought a pack of 4 for $ 1.50 and it was totally worth it. Each scone was big enough to share with a friend. We also purchased some soft oatmeal cookies. I was very satisfied with my baked goods purchases from Fink’s. I just wish the place was a little more appealing and welcoming aesthetically. It would definitely round up the customers.

Fink’s Bakery can be seen from the public parking lot. it’s a few doors from the salvation army building. limited selection of cookies(1), pumpkin bread(2.50) and some pastries(1) available. sampled a croissant type pastry with some filling.(1) didn’t taste fresh. maybe a day old. not much flavor. not so flaky. crumbs: –friendly, attentive service –cash only?

Clearly it’s a bit hit and miss. I bought some sale cookies here that were pretty so-so, but the pumpkin bread was so good I went back a few weeks later and got it again. I would get it more often, but you know what effect that would have on the hips… next time I go, I’ll get something different, maybe it won’t stick so much ;) As Michael H noted, they’re invisible unless you’re driving through the parking lot behind CVS, Siam Palace and Buffalo Bill’s. Like many Asian holes-in-the-wall, it’s dark and not pretty; they would probably gain customers with a coat of paint and changing the floor tiles.

Fink’s Bakery is a cute bakery. from the outside. LOL. inside is pretty cluttered so it’s just a stop by bakery. no seating but that’s okay. it’s pretty cheap, 8 cookies for $ 1.70. and usually cookies are 0.69cents each. the taste was eggy. so it was more of an egg based recipe rather than flower. cute bakery for inexpensive goods. not spectacular but good enough for chump change and an average baked good.

THEWORSTCAKE I ever had. SODRY and very odd flavor. It was as if it sat out for a month before being frosted and sold. Should have known by the unsightly appearance of the place. The red flags were going off just looking around, should have trusted my instincts.

Fink’s is out of view from the main streets. It’s located within a parking lot near B street. In the parking lot, it’s sign is the most prominent with it’s back background and white type. Inside really feels like a mom and pop shop. They have racks of croissants, waiting to be moved, in the middle of the floor plan. The back of the kitchen is exposed for view yet it’s not intended to impress. The glass counter showcases their selection of hand-sized goodies like cookies, muffins, strudels, and the like. Their prices are really affordable. You can get an entire loaf of pound cake for $ 2.50 while most of their other good are about $ 1 flat. I ordered a blueberry muffin for $ 1. The service is okay, the lady kept saying, «Is that it?», about three times. She seemed nice enough. The quality of the muffin I ordered was okay. It’s about an average muffin. The presentation is good enough. It has crumbles on the top, well exposed blueberries, and the muffin itself is fairly large. The flavor and moistness wasn’t mind-blowing, but it did the job. I would come back if I didn’t want to spend that much for a decent baked good.
