Hang ten is a nice alternative if you’re in the mood for boiling crab but don’t want to drive all the way to San Jose and wait in that ridiculous line. My friend and I shared the cousin Jeff combo which includes 2 pounds of shrimp, 1 pound of clams, 2 pieces of corn, 4 pieces of potatoes, and a side of bread for $ 39.99 before taxes. Few bad points I have to mention was that the sauce was super oily compared to other places that I’ve been too. Another point was that for our clams, I literally pulled 10 empty clam shells out before finding one that actually had a clam in it. And lastly, they’re pretty stingy when it comes to limes. I had to ask my waitress 3 times for more limes because they only gave out like 4 at a time. However, their service overall was pretty on point. The waitresses came to refill our waters throughout the meal and were friendly. And the sauce, although oily, was very flavorful.

A pound of hang ten shrimp taste more like a pound of butter. That’s all I taste although it wasn’t bad but I wouldn’t want too much of it. Garlic noodles are alright it might need some Parmesan on top. Cajun fries and Katsu was pretty good. The fried oysters was thee worse I’ve ever had. You get three fat crunchy fried oysters. It didn’t taste good at all. Idk what they use as breading but it sure does not look very appetizing or easy to eat. I didn’t even eat the rest that’s how bad it was. I gave this place a 3 star cause the oyster ruined it for me but i gave a tip to our waitress for her good service. If you want good oysters Rocking Crawfish got fresh yummy oysters for $ 1 each on Tuesday and Wednesday and better fried oysters.

I hate to give a bad review because I wanted to like this place, but it didn’t satisfy me in different areas. So not to take away from the people who work here, they were a nice and pleasant with nice smiles and attitude. I arrived shortly after my friends and theyvalready had beers. We talked for a bitvan i realuzed that it took awhile before a server came and asked what i would like to drink. My friends told me they took forever, and i was like okay, it is a little busy. They did take a long time as they said. I got my drink and we wanted to order, but server wasn’t around and we waited a while. When she did come, she was very cool and was able to answer questions abd describe the flavors offered. So what really turned me off was the quality of what we ordered. We ordered shrimp. The flavors were good, but the quality of tbe shrimp wasn’t. Was nkt as fresh as one might expect at a restaurant, it was very mediocre. A few of us felt a little weird after eating the shrimp, and we all described the same feelings. All in all, nice people, slow service, and id rather go somewhere else when i have a hankering for sea food.

This place is located outside of the mall in section 4 near JCPenny. The pros: 1) No wait on a Saturday night. 2) The Spam Musubi was REALLYGOOD. I would say, it’s the best I’ve ever had. The spam was deep fried(no batter) so it was crispy on the outside but tender on the inside. The seaweed was crispy and served right away. 3) Garlic noodles were okay because I’ve had better. I felt like the noodles were a bit on the softer side. 4) sweet potato fries were very good. 5) shrimp was cooked well but the sauce was lacking. 6) a lot of tvs to watch football and basketball games. Cons: 1) By no way is this place comparable to boiling crab and the pricing is about the same. Boiling crabs sauce is more flavorful and has more garlic. 2) Catfish basket was a huge disappointment. The catfish was very flat, almost paper thin. I don’t know what part of the cat fish they gave us… I don’t even think it was catfish. It’s not big and juicy like at boiling crab. Do not order. 3) fried oysters, I would pass on this. Too much batter. 4) garlic fries were soggy greasy perhaps because how it was tossed. Cajun fries were better, I would recommend that instead.

A part of me wanted to say«GOLAKERS!» just to see what happens, but i fear that I may not be able to make it out alive. HAHAH. The place was a shrine for the warriors.(I’m really not a Lakers fan, or any sports related fan in that matter, just to clarify, please dont egg me x. x) .:FOOD:. Andrew’s BBQ mixed Plate 11.99: 2 scoops of rice, macaroni salad, bbq short rib(attach to bone), bbq chicken. Pretty good flavors all around. The ribs were super juicy with lots of flavors and so were the chicken which were surprisingly moist. Shrimp w/Hang Ten(cajun) Market Price: Every cajun place has their own take on the sauce, and although Hang Ten was quite unique in theirs. You could taste the garlic and the cajun flavors. Its something NEW to try. Pretty gracious portions and size of shrimp. .: Service/Atmosphere/Parking:. Our server was pretty friendly and was attending to our needs. Not too hard to flag him down. Atmosphere was like any other cajun place(ie Boiling crab, kickin crab) with wooden tables and chairs but had a hawaiian kick to everything even their menu. And DONOTFORGET, the warriors rule the place haha. So if you’re a fan, you will fit right in. Parking was not bad at all as it was located inside a mall so there was a huge parking lot.

I honestly had low expectations for this place since the spot that they’re in has been ever changing(I remember when this place was still TK Noodle, lol!). However I was quite surprised that this place is really good. I’ve never had their seafood, but I’ve had their grease baskets such as the catfish and fries which are amazing, and like most people have said, the garlic noodles here are awesome. I love the paratha bread because I like carbs and it’s just so good. I usually come here for lunch. They also sell macaron ice cream sandwiches, and I’ve had the Thai tea one. It has great flavor, although it’s a bit pricy. Service is great, everyone is really nice and I’ve never had a bad experience here. Overall, if you’re craving Cajun seafood I definitely recommend this place. I feel like this place is way better than Ray’s Crab Shack and it is up to par with the boiling crab.

Take my review with a grain of salt, because I’ve come here lots of times but never gotten a boiler meal. We get the plate lunch type meals, which are tasty and one portion is good for about three meals. Tried the Hang Ten fries last time, which were delicious but caused me to overeat a bit even though we were sharing! The prices are very reasonable for the quantity, but I’m not a fan of huge portions. Mr. M loves this place and craves it occasionally. Our young pescatarian loves the salmon and makes a few meals out of it. Service is nice.

I was really surprised with how much we enjoyed this placed. We always want to try new places for our anniversary dinner and we came later in the evening after I got out of school. It’s a pretty spacious seating area and decked out in GSW. Signature sauce even named after Steph Curry — legit. Our waitress was really nice and gave us a breakdown of their menu since it was our first time here. We ordered a pound of shrimp each, cajun fries and the garlic noodles. I’d have to say that their signature sauce is the best I’ve tasted. Cajun fries are always a must when we order our shrimp. Everyone always talks about how delicious their garlic noodles are so we had to try it. There was nothing special about it — it was just ok. It was very garlicky and sweet. The prices were pretty cheap for the amount they gave us. It’s a lot and we couldn’t finish it all! I’m so glad we discovered Hang Ten Broiler that’s closer to home. It’s located in a corner of the Southland Mall. It was kind of hard for us to find. I hope they branch out somewhere in a different location soon. Great customer service and friendly staff. We will definitely be back when we’re craving seafood.

Definitely my favorite spot for Cajun food! I’ve been here countless times. There is an additional location in Alameda, but this review primarily focuses on the Southland mall location, which is, overall, bigger, and provides smaller wait times. Casual ambience, good for groups of friends and families to get together. This place is a big fan of the Golden State Warriors, there are yellow and blue decorations everywhere on the walls. They even have a sauce named after Steph Curry. You can mark your name or write whatever on the wall if you wish to. Hang Ten Boiler – as the name suggests – serves Cajun-Hawaii fusion. They offer a variety of seafood from shrimp, clams, and Dungeness crabs. I have tried all the seafood on the menu. There are four different sauces to choose from, but all you need is the Hang Ten, it has all the sauces combined! They also have 4 different level of spiciness per sauce. As for the Hawaiian food selection, they have loco moco, rice plates with grilled meats, spam musubi, etc. Garlic Noodles(3⁄5)-$ 5.99(Small) & $ 9.99(Large) The noodles weren’t that great. They were greasy and didn’t have much garlic flavor. Noodles were choppy. I recommend getting the small to try it out. 1lb of Shrimps(5⁄5)-$ Market Price(Usually $ 12.99) Get ready to get your hands dirty! This is what I order every single time, it has roughly 18 – 20 shrimps per lb! I mean, that’s definitely worth the money and there’s more meat compared to clams and mussels. The hang ten sauce is finger-licking good. It’s flavorful and has lots of minced garlic. Mild to medium spiciness is good for me. Also, the corn and rice are a must get! The corn soaked up the sauce in the bag, the sweetness of the corn along with the sauce made it extra tasty. Yeah, I need my rice whenever there’s sauces. Good stuff. BBQ Mixed Plate(5⁄5)-$ 10.99– The meats – chicken, short ribs, etc – were great. Juicy and tender meats with a smoky touch from the grill. They gave a good portion of meat as well. The plate came with rice and a side of macaroni salad. I don’t get these rice plates often because 1 lb of seafood with rice fills you up, but if you have a large party, it’s always nice to share and try something else. Spam Musubi(2.5÷5)−2 for $ 4. Not that great, the rice was hard and dense. It was not served hot. Literally can describe the spam Musubi as eating bricks. I don’t recommend. Always will be coming back to this place whenever I have a craving! Trust me, this is better than boiling crab.

I was referred here by a coworker and he said try the garlic noodles. I did and I was really satisfied and full. Me and my girl went on my birthday. She got the teriyaki steak with steam rice and broccoli. I ordered the fried shrimp and Cajun fries. The seasoning was on ponit. Just wish the fries were a little thicker. But I was pleased with the service. I’ll be coming here again. They have refills. So if you’re a soda drinker. You’re in luck. Unfortunately I wasn’t able to sign the wall. Because they had no markers. Next time I’ll have to bring my own marker. Lol GOODFOODTHOUGH!!!

Best garlic noodles in the Bay Area is right! Definitely my favorite Cajun seafood place in the area. The spices hit it just right and the garlic noodles are amazing! Get the Hang Ten and enjoy the deliciousness. The serving sizes are big too so a lot of plates are shareable. It is a little more expensive but what do you expect? Seafood places are always a bit pricier. Usually I get really great service here. The servers are always nice(I wish I could name one server bc she’s consistently nice every time we go there). However, this last time I went the service was slow. It wasn’t even that busy and there were tons of people working so I don’t know what the issue was… Can’t keep a hungry girl waiting like that maaaan. But that’s okay, Hang Ten. You’re still my favorite!

I have to hide my excitement when someone offers to take me here. I can’t think of anything to say that would be remotely negative. This place is clean/fast/caring/honest/delicious!!! I really love the cousin jeffs combo. Shrimp and clams and corn and potatoes! I always get some rice or fries and a strawberry soda. Coming here is always a delight. If these guys could serve a menu with just a few flavors of boba drinks I would probably live in the bathroom(that’s a clean bathroom!) I am now open for invitations. Thank you.

Went here on a whim. First impression is that it’s a nice establishment. Good location– consistent business even on the slowest of days. Service: 3⁄5 my server was polite she didn’t seem to be fully aware of the menu and what each dish consisted of. Not being familiar with Hawaiian dishes I would have liked to been introduced to something new, so that was a let down on her part. Kalua pig is probably the best I could find in the immediate area. Tender with tons of flavor. It wasn’t dry like most places so these guys have got it right. Short ribs & Island Mac– tons of meat on the ribs! Portions were very generous considering most places will give about 2 – 3 pieces whereas we received 4 – 6. Island Mac was just the right amount, nothing too overwhelming and complimented the dishes well.

OMG, this place is . We r in town for a softball tournament and was craving some seafood. We looked on Unilocal and found this gem. I’m from scal and this place is way better than the boiling crab and L/L Hawaiian Bbq. It’s a mixture of both. We ordered… Cousin Jeff special(good for two people) ordered mild Cajun, it was perfect. I enjoyed the tortilla garlic butter with this meal. We also ordered the Hawaiian mix plate, meat was juicy, not over cooked and plenty of food we had left overs. For drinks I had the Hawaiian sun lilikoi yummy but cost $ 2.25 :-( Customer service was great, our waitress was very attentive and courteous she came to our table several times making sure we had everything we needed and that we enjoyed the food. The restaurant is right in front of mall, which was nice. I didn’t want to get distracted with shopping lol. worth a visit, we will definitely be back next year.

We arrived at Hang Ten thirty minutes before closing on a Sunday night… The waitress was definitely going to spit in our food… There were still a lot of people inside and another large party walked in a minute after! We were immediately seated and the waitress hurriedly came by multiple times to ask us what we wanted within the first couple of minutes. We decided to share a pound of shrimp(because they don’t do half pounds) with H10 sauce and the H10 fries. I’m sure this place is compared to Boiling Crab occasionally but I feel that they are completely different in taste. The H10 sauce is super thick and creamy and buttery with a bit of a tang. The Steph Curry was also very buttery and creamy and has a slight sweetness to the curry. The H10 fries were super bomb!!! The fries itself were crispy like a cracker and worked really well with the chipotle mayo, minced meat and all the delicious ingredients on top! And lastly, I was able to try the garlic noodles and they were delicious!!! I felt bad for coming in right before closing but I’m glad I was able to try the food even if they spit in it!!! No regrets!

Hang Ten Boiler is great for getting down and dirty with Cajun-style seafood. It also has a number of Hawaiian-style BBQ and fried goodies too for a less messy dining experience. It’s located in a corner of Southland Mall, so plenty of parking. The interior is very casual and festive, with lots of GSW memorabilia. They even named one of their sauces after Steph Curry! We came here for dinner and brought along my wife’s niece and nephew. Food was excellent and service great with frequent refills of drinks and very nice staff. Only downsides are they ran out if gumbo and lobster. No dessert menu either, but Nestle Cookies and Ice Cream booth is inside of the mall a few steps away. As for the food, solid 4 stars: King Vinny combo(H10 sauce, Medium): We got 1-lb King Crab Legs as the special item. The combo has corn, baked potatoes, 1-lb shrimp, and 1-lb clams. Everyone loved the shrimp — good spiciness for medium and cooked well. King Crab legs was relatively easy to peel and had very good sweetness. Easily feeds 2 – 3 people and makes a huge mess! The Indian-style flatbread(parantha) was like a savory hot crêpe and was another good thing about this combo. Kahlua Pork: Pretty solid dish with seasoned pork mixed with cabbage on top of rice. You can get broccoli or the pasta salad. We wound up taking half of it to go. Garlic Noodles: Very garlicky and buttery — so very filling, but oh so good. Since we wanted to focus on the seafood, we took half of it home. You could almost eat this like a pasta entrée rather than a side dish. We will definitely come back if we’re in the area — there’s still quite a stuff on the menu that’s worth trying. I’d place H10 on the same level as Backyard Bayou(Union City) but above 938 Crawfish(Albany) in terms of taste and overall quality.

Loved the food and the Hang Ten flavor is comparable top Boiling Crab. However, like what other reviewers stated, the staff wouldn’t seat us at the booth even though they were completely empty. We were seated facing the sun. There are no window blind nor window tint so not only was I blinded by the sun, I was also sweating profusely. Near the end of my meal, the booth slowly filled up… Which was 45 mins later, those booth were put to use. Why couldn’t they have given to customers that were there? I gave them two stars for the food and fast service. Their seating arrangement needs work on. And please add in blinds! We live in California.

My cousins had dined at the Alameda location so they went to try this one a few weeks ago. I was in the area for a car errand, so it was the perfect time to try this place! For our party of two, we ordered one pound of shrimp, one pound of crawfish, and the Cajun fries. Our server said the steph curry seasoning was made with curry and coconut so we opted for Cajun seasoning instead. The seasoning was really good but I feel like the seafood wasn’t completely saturated in it. Maybe if you order it to go and let it sit in the hot bags, it would marinate and pick up more of the flavors. I also have to mention that the service here is really fantastic. The servers are all patient, kind, and helpful. I can’t remember the last time I was back at this mall, but if I’m ever in the mood for Cajun, I’ll definitely be back. Oh! I also really liked that they don’t just offer seafood. I love seafood but not all of my friends do, so it’s a nice place for everyone to get something they enjoy eating.

Craving loads of seafood? Wanna get down and dirty? Try Southland Mall’s outer facing Crab boil place named after a Hawaiian surf move. Pro-Tip — Ask about the ‘Secret menu” with the Hang Ten Fries(not really secret, but not described on the menu), or the Aloha Combo which allows you to mix and match, but not all of the servers know about it. This night we went for a sampling, and tried the following. Hang Ten Fries — Crispy Fries smothered in Kalua Pig, spicy mayo cream, and green onions. So Good I couldn’t stop eating them! Garlic Noodles — Chow mein style noodles with a garlic sauce. More grease than garlic and tasty, but not as good as the Hang Ten fries. Cousin Vinnie Seafood Combo — A real feast that would typically come with shrimp. clams, and crab, with corn and potatoes. They were out of clams(bummer!) so we were allowed to substitute crayfish or muscles. I chose the crayfish, but should have chosen the muscles. We opted for the Hang Ten Sauce, which was a spicy Cajun blend and real tasty. Even though we got Mild/Med my lips were«singing for days»! Pro Tip 2 — Get here early to make sure they don’t run out of your favorites, and tie your bib on tight! Not crowded, with good service. Will have to try«Da Meat» side of the menu next time.

I finally got an opportunity to check this place out, since the idea of Hawaiian food and cajun seafood always gets my attention. It’s located at the entrance to Southland Mall, which seemed a bit odd, but it’s very spacious and has a lot of seating. Got to love all the Hawaiian décor and I especially liked the fact they were displaying Warriors and Raiders flags, so I got a good vibe as I walked-in. It took me awhile to browse the menu, since I was torn between ordering Hawaiian food, but opted for the cajun seafood, since who doesn’t like to eat with their hands and wear a bib? We started our meal with cajun fries and garlic noodles, which were really good. My wife and I ordered Cousin Jeff’s combo(2 lbs. of shrimp, 1 lb. of claims, corn and potatoes) in Hang Ten sauce. Our friends each ordered the Dungeness Crab(1 with garic butter the other other in Hang Ten sauce). Our friends went mild, but we ordered ours medium, which was just right for my wife. Next time I might get spicy sauce on the side so I can add more heat. The shrimp and clams were cooked perfectly and the sauce was very tasty. I had fun digging the clams out from the sauce as they fell-out of their shells. It also allowed the corn and potatoes to soak-in all that awesome flavor. Since my friend’s wife couldn’t eat her rice, I of course obliged. The rice comes inside the crab shell and this helps lock-in all that crab and cajun flavor. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful. I can’t say enough about the excellent customer service. I’ve been to a few cajun seafood places, but this was my fave.
