So happy I found this place, it’s located in a really small corner. I usually get the chili cheese hot dog. It’s a big hot dog and they put lots of cheese and chili on it. It’s really tasty, filling, and well worth the money. The old man that works here is nice too. He always asks how my day is going and always tells me to have a good day. It is very lonely though, they deserve more customers.

Good dogs, It’s just that they’re small and not fullfilling. Maybe it’s time to keep the traditional style but with bigger, meatier hot dogs. It’ll help with your business I promise. That’s the main reason lots of people and myself hardley come here.

No complaints on the food but they could have a little more pep in their step. I enjoy how they offer the orange fizz unlike Caspers.

Awful experience! Guy has nasty attitude and seems like he hates people. Food is just as bad! Cajan dog filled with fat, and regular dog mushy & seemed old. Left food half eaten and feeling sick. We will never eat here again!

Between the hotdog and the service it sounds like this guy caters to gay barbecues most the time because his food taste like shit!

I love this place with all of my heart. Prices are reasonable, worth it! Get a tamale with a chili dog on top — your won’t regret it until you sit on a toilet lmao.

ITWASWELLOVER100DEGREESINTHESTORE! How can the owner expect anybody to want to eat there when you can’t even breathe? Some of the food has to sit out on the counter, and I seriously question whether that can be healthy. I walked in, got a drink, and had to leave immediately because I couldn’t stand that heat box. Not surprisingly, the store was empty. The fans on the ceiling weren’t working and the employees had to rely on several small fans placed around the store. That level of disrespect and apathy for the comfort of Kasper’s employees is something the owner should be ashamed of. Buy a few wall-unit air conditioners and let your employees work in comfort.

The Kasper’s closed in Fremont, so I guess this is where I need to go for the same great hot dog!

If I want a hotdog outside of a baseball stadium, I go here! Don’t expect much thrills or frills in both hotdog toppings or customer service, you get what you expect in a hotdog diner. I go for the cheese dog or their tamales. Their dogs are always hot, ready to take on the go, and consistently delicious.

This store SUCKS, Open when they want close without notice and the staff is extremely Rude. I grew up eating at Kasper’s but won’t give a dime to these opportunistic Cocksuckers.

So the guy that works here will offer to MICROWAVE your bun if it’s not hot enough… I have been coming to Kaspers since I was 6 for over 40 years!!! My grandmother Nani used to bring me and Kaspers has the best hot dogs in the Bay Area but when the buns are not well steamed and moist and the GUY behind the counter tells me the buns are steamed when they are WARM but dry and not steamed and not HOT… as a LONGTIME customer it’s VERY disappointing!!! And on this particular visit(and I don’t live far from here) not only were the buns NOT well steamed but the dogs weren’t very hot!!! And I CALLEDANDTOLDHIM I WASCOMINGANDTOHAVETHEBUNSHOTANDSTEAMED If you are the owner and I hope you read this… The quality of service I have received at your stores except for the ONE gal in Fremont who steams the buns very well and covers them with a towel and the dogs are always hot and the buns are hot to the touch… THAT gal should be training your people!!! At this point I will NEVER go to the Winton store again as long as he is working there and possibly training people POORLY!!! And as a customer for 45 years I’m close to just giving up and not patronizing Kaspers with the K(because it’s the original recipe from Kasper Koojoolian) and the Caspers with a C is NOT!!! If you are the owner and read this… Give them tongs if they don’t want to touch hot buns but if the buns aren’t HOT and the dogs aren’t HOT I can just buy some Ballpark franks and stay home

Got pretty nasty the last few years. I don’t see why any one in the world would choose this over a 1.50 $ hot dog and a drink from Costco. 3.50 $ for a hot dog is absurd. The quality and the workers never seem pleasant. Have a good day.

Went to have lunch thier, been here before a few times. Hot dogs are great. But the old lady behind the counter is rude and pushy. I was reading a text for a hot dog order, the lady say the signs said no cell phone when ordering. Read the sign. I left and told her I don’t care for pushy and rude people. You lost my business for ever. I will still go to other Caspers to get a hot in Castro valley the people are not rude. Hayward staff is rude.

3 stars for service. Nice older lady behind the counter. Basically as good as making them at home. Fresh toppings. I’m not coming back. Because i can make this at home. But I didn’t feel gross or sick after eating it like I would of from Wienerschnitzel. Stay AWAYFROMTHETAMALES– THOSEAREBAD

Wow, the orange fizz is pretty delicious! With such simplicity. this has been my gf’s go-to spot for delicious food. She craves their hotdogs on a regular basis, and I had to eventually go check it out to see what the hype was about. The buns were steamed. and the dogs themselves had that nice snappy texture to it that brings a great flavor and texture. Just top it off with some simple condiments. or splurge a little bit more and add other available toppings. and you got yourself a menu that can hold itself thru the ages. Don’t let the décor or the atmosphere fool you. and even if the dogs don’t look that great. they sure taste fine.

My father and I used to drive over an hour to visit this location in Hayward. Stopped by again last week after quite some time. Place was clean, service was friendly. A guy with a beard filled us in with the chains history where it had like 30 locations about 20 years ago after starting in Lodi. He said there are now 10 or 11 remaining. The lady that made the dogs was wearing gloves and what’s funny is that the guy(I’m assuming the owner or manager) was a foodie and we got on some topic about food network. I told him how long it had been since I had eaten here and right after I tasted the first dog he asked«So does that bring back any memories?» Only a true foodie would know that flavors and smells can create some very solid lifelong memories. My answer? «Yes it does». The hot dog actually did bring back almost instantly the same flavor from just over 20 years ago. IMHO this is a perfect California Hot Dog. The bun was steamed the same way as two decades ago and the wonderful flavor was exactly the same. I believe their secret is celery salt. ;) Now I’m gonna try to replicate one of these at home. PS: They have awesome tamales as well.
