Kutz ‘N Play, Kudos to you! I like the fact that you have an adult area and a kid’s zone area, with the kid’s area providing books, games, and other items! And your work is excellent. I would highly recommend!

The worst place ever to take your kid… no one here wants to actually work. Twice in one month we have come here and waited 10 – 15 mins in an empty storefront, only to be told they have appointments and cannot squeeze us in. I appreciate respect for the reservation, but after 15 minutes of waiting, most folks take the customer standing in front of them with cash vs. that person without enough common courtesy to call and say they are running late… but that’s just my opinion. When we were finally seated, my son was nicked on his neck and developed hair bumps around his hairline the following day. Yuck! The final straw for me was arriving at 4pm on a Sunday and being told he couldnt accept walk ins after 430pm. When i brought to his attention it was only 4… he looked at me like I was nuts and copped a major attitude. No attitudes will be copped with my hard earned dollars… no, thank you. We headed downtown Hayward to a more accomodating shop and have no plans to return to Kutz n Play Kidzone…

Great staff and owner is very friendly. Good hair cuts in less than 30min. Shop is clean and prices are fair.

Richie Rich is a great barber! He takes his time and is very patient with the kids. After my 6 year old’s traumatic experience with another barber shop, he said he wants to come back to Kutz n Play for now on. Both of my kids hair cuts were great and they get compliments everywhere they go.

I hardly give reviews but my experience with this shop has been horrible. I’ve had my hair cut there about five times to get a well rounded experience. In general my experience has been: 1. The shop is very unprofessional. The barbers are constantly on their phones or texting during cuts. On a few occasions the barbers did’t have change for payment. Last night was the straw that broke the camel’s back. I showed up at 8pm and was hoping to get a cut. The guys said hi and that I was 2nd in line. Three people were in the chairs geting cut. I waited and waited. The guy ahead of me left because of the wait. Finally when a chair opened at 8:30 the barber said he had to go and couldn’t do my cut. The owner said he’d «hook» cut me up when his chair opened because they were closing. I didn’t get out of there until almost 10p. These guys should know how long their cuts will take and turn people away if it’s too close to closing. 2. Poor time management. A haircut takes forever. I had a fade last night that took about an hour. In fact any haircut they give takes an hour or more. I watched a little boy fall asleep in the chair and his mother had to hold his head up because the cut took too long. 3. Most of the barbers don’t know how to use sheers. Most eveything is done with clippers which is not always the best approach. 4. I almost forgot to mention, last night’s haircut also included two 1-inch cuts(free of charge) as part of my line-up. Don’t waste your time with this shop. There are many other legit barbers in the Hayward area. STAYAWAY!

Cordell did an excellent job lining up my boyfriend’s beard. This was his first time here and he’ll be returning for sure.
