I feel like I was taken advantage of and robbed. All I wanted was a general check up and physical, but I did not even get that. First, when I walked in the receptionist was not friendly and neither was the rest of the staff. After waiting 45 minutes, I was finally brought in to check blood pressure and weight by the nurse. She then directed me into an office, where I would wait another hour(literally) before the doctor came in to see me. I told him I just wanted a quick check up, but he told me I would have to get blood work done first and the only open slot available was the next week. I’ve never been asked to get blood work done offsite just for a routine check up. I work over 50 hours a week and do not have time for that. About 10 minutes of casual dialogue and he sent me on my way. A month later I received a bill for $ 270(I never got the blood work so this was only for the 10 minute«consultation»). On top of that they only give me a week to pay it before they send it to collection. NODOCTORCANSAY10MINUTESOFTHEIRTIMEISWORTH $ 270UNLESSTHEYJUSTSAVEDYOURLIFE! My sister and I began a search for a geriatric doctor who was familiar with Alzheimer’s patients. Our 76 year old mother has had a very rapid decline in her dementia over the last year and he was a literal God send and answer to our prayers. He is kind, thoughtful and thorough and he is very good natured when our mother shamelessly flirts with him! Dr. Marchiano has our full endorsement as a physician and we are thankful we found him.; -)

I moved my(85 year year old) Mom to Hayward from San Jose last summer and had to find a new doctor and dentist for her. It’s not easy finding gerontologists in this part of Alameda county, but thanks to the referral section of the Alzheimers association and a recommendation by another resident at Casa Sandoval, I found Dr. Marchiano. He is GREAT. I could not be happier with him. He is truly dedicated to his patients and treats both me and my Mom with respect, consideration and dignity. My Mom has dementia and finding a doctor who would actually include her in conversations meant a lot to me. He is very thorough in his approach as well, AND he does not push drugs as the cure to everything. He has a thoughtful and much more conservative approach to the use of drugs, particularly in seniors. Would definetely recommend Dr. M for anyone looking for a good doctor, but he is great with seniors. His office staff is friendly and efficient.
