I’m a special education teacher for an adult school. When my students age out of my program at 22 years, many of them enroll in this program. I’ve gone to visit the place and the clients seem happy and engaged. There are plenty of things to do: cooking, gardening, running the thrift store, exercising, carpentry, scrap booking, etc. The place is cheerful and inviting and the staff is friendly. What more could a person ask for?

This park is right around the corner from where I live. Sheila my dog, loves this place. There is a swing set for kids, 3 baseball fields, and a snack stand that is open when there is baseball games on the weekends. It is very small but kind of a hidden gem in Hayward. Also I sometimes see guys hanging out on the benches or just kind of loitering around. Possible drug dealer or maybe they just love the park?

My brother(who is mentally disabled) has been kick out of the Castro Valley Adult School, apparently they couldn’t handle him. He hated going there. My brother is a go with the flow kinda guy, wants to have fun, and make friends while doing. We then visit many programs that would fit his need, and this place is the best! They are the nicest group of teachers and program leaders. They give him choices in classes and activities that he would personally like to do. My brother now will go to the program and comes home happy!
