I have two go-to burrito spots, and this is one of them. Conveniently located within walking distance of my workplace, my coworkers and I enjoy walking over here for fresh air and a burrito fix. Let me just stress my favorite thing: that burrito tho. I get the regular carne asada burrito(not super!) and man I am SO satisfied. I don’t get the super burrito because I feel like the sour cream and lettuce ruin the taste of the true star, which is the carne asada. I’m pretty sure they mix in a little of their red salsa into the meat… however I ask for more red salsa and douse each and every bite!!! It’s spicy and delicious, this salsa is literally what keeps me coming back for more. Their green salsa is amazing too but I prefer the red one. Some burrito spots have a very thin tortilla that is super soft when you bite into it, however their tortilla has a really firm texture so everything doesn’t just fall apart when you eat it. It’s not the mushy kind of burrito either. Their regular burrito is $ 7.50 and for me, worth it every single time!

When in the Bay Area, my boyfriend and I try to stop here. We have tried the asada, pollo, pescado, pastor, camarones, and lengua tacos. Truly, we have never been disappointed. The meat is seasoned perfectly, but the ingredient that keeps us craving these tacos are the tortillas. SOGOOD! If we lived in Hayward, we would be eating these tacos weekly.

Nasty! Old dried meat called chicken, nasty. Never ever again. I didn’t finish it I tossed it out.

They’ve got the best tripitas, cabeza, and buche tacos. They season/marinate these cuts of meat so well. The tripitas and buche are so tender too. This is the definite taco spot!

When I can’t make it to the taco truck on 22nd this is the place I go. Not a fan of the burritos but the carne asada tacos are the way to go

Love taquerias in old Taco Bells! Really enjoyed this one. Found on my way from San Francisco back to Oakdale. The standard taqueria test for me — lengua and pastor tacos. Lengua was very good! Pastor was too. Wish they had a salsa bar but the taco quality made up for it for me. Not in this area too much but would come here again!

Its good thing the food is good. I recommend not ordering your food over the phone. My buddy and i called an order in and repeated the order twice. When i got there i was pretty sure that we had ordered 2 burritos with some tacos and a side of rice. They lady charged me for 3 burritos and some tacos and rice. I told the lady that it should have been 2 burritos. She gave a little attitude and said the guy told me 3. So just to be safe i paid for the 3. Turns out i was right we only wanted 2 burritos we ended up payong for a burrito we didnt need. Kinda sucks. So i recommend order in person not over the phone.

The food is consistently good, but I do not swing by as much as I use to. The prices have gone up and I was overcharged. $ 2 a taco is for tripas, but I ordered a mix of different ones and $ 1.75 is the normal price, so I was owed $.50. Oh well, I decided not to tip instead. The service is always nice and I do appreciate the clean establishment.

We found out about this place by being invited to a neighbors party who had these guys cater. Ever since then, if we want tacos, this is our go to. What makes it better, it’s less than two miles from home. Tacos are ALWAYS on point.

Was stuck at the light on my way home from work and saw the mail woman going in and placing a order. Figured she would know where all the local good grub is so I went in for a pit stop. If there wasn’t a small line of folks ordering food I would’ve backed out. Place looks like an old Taco Bell with the plastic attached swing chairs and it was stifling hot with no air circulation. Everyone in line ordered taco’s which is a cheap deal at only $ 1.50 each but I decided to try their sope because I’m a sucker for sopes. I decided to go with abodada which is similar to Al Pastor but much juicier. The corn sope seemed homemade and was crispy good. Toppings were piled high and the meat was very flavorful and extremely juicy. Only downside is that it was the smallest sope I’ve ever seen, about the same size as an Thomas English Muffin half, but at $ 2.75 each you can’t expect much more than a street taco amount. Next time, I’ll have to try a taco!

This place is disgusting & the staff lady is rude! The nachos came with Nacho cheese & we didn’t know so when I said my daughter doesn’t eat nacho cheese they said Nachos always come with nacho cheese no matter where you go. Not authentic Mexican Taquerias! Then my sons burrito came with onions & cilantro when I asked for only carne asada, cheese, beans & rice. They changed the burrito with burnt meat scrappings from grill. So negative star from me !!! Never returning!

Only thing stoping this place from getting the 5th star is they’ve kept putting onions in the burritos when I asked them not to. Other than that, their burritos and tacos are some the best I’ve had from a fast food restaurant. I personally don’t think fair to put them in that class giving their cook’s commitment in making the food. Everything is just delicious here. They have plenty of meat options like grilled beef, marinated pork, grilled chicken, pork in green sauce, carnitas. So there’s always a reason to come back and try something different each time.

Great stop for some late night grub! Flew into town and picked up a car and it was getting late, but on our way to our destination we wanted to pick up some food, so when we saw Tacos El Grullense we stopped to try them out. We got there around 11pm on a Friday night, the place was empty and ready to close in an ½ hour. One friend ordered some nachos, the other ordered some carne asada street tacos, and I went with a carne asada burrito. My burrito was great, and my friend’s street tacos were delish, the nachos were runny and cold, so stay away from them. But this a great late night stop for some good grub! Service was friendly and fast. Glad to have given it a try.

So worth the drive from Walnut Creek as there is no good place to get tacos out there. These are some of the best tacos I’ve ever had and the best thing is they cost $ 1.50 per taco!!! I believe the Stockton El Grullense and this location has the same ownership because the tacos taste exactly the same. So delicious!!! I’ll be back! !

We found this place by random & didn’t have any expectations, but this place was delicious! Authentic Mexican food & price is nice. Horchata & all the grilled tacos are my favorite. Location is random, but it’s in a area with plenty of parking. The workers seemed nice as they smiled & made sure the riders were correct. If your around the area & can’t decide on a Mexican spot, this is the place to go!

Tacos were decent but no chips and salsa?!? I’ve never been to a taqueria that charges extra for chips and salsa, and normally tacos come with limes not lemons.

Delicious and cheap. Unusual menu items: Potato tacos, Jalapeño and cheese tamales, Ceviche tostadas… Friendly service. Highly recommended.

Ageusia… Definition? The loss of taste functions of the tongue, particularly the inability to detect sweetness, sourness, bitterness, saltiness, and umami. It is sometimes confused with anosmia — a loss of the sense of smell… The cooks here have this disorder in the worst way imaginable, particularly with salt… This burrito was by far the saltiest thing I’ve ever eaten in my entire life. Even saltier than homegrown sore-throat remedies where I’d gargle & spit(practically gagging) on various saltwater concoctions. In this case however, I was consciously ingesting this cylindrical shaped, stroke inducing«death wrap». I tried to polish it off by guzzling on the horchata after every bite, but finally gave up when I found my hands literally trembling as I attempted to dip my chips into the salsa(THAT was when shit got REAL)… «Scary», that is… I found a handful of reviews mentioning similar experiences with salt, but they were obviously the minority so I dismissed them initially. I don’t recall ever writing a review this quickly following a meal, though I felt I needed to warn the masses with a vivid description of the meal while it’s still fresh on my mind(& sodium induced, throbbing headache still present). Outside of the horrendous experience with my burrito, the chips were stale(though surprisingly, not very salty) & the salsa watery(though actually quite tasty). Horchata was«ok», but never had the desire to finish. $ 12.50 out the door for a super burrito, chips/salsa & a large horchata(whether good or not) seems a bit pricey. The fact that my attempt at satisfying my late night burrito craving lead to extreme disappointment & temporarily high blood pressure assures I won’t be going out of my way to take another trip back to Tacos El Grullense anytime soon(nor ever again). Should’ve just stuck with«Old Faithful», Fiesta Taco where I’ve yet to be disappointed… Do I sound bitter? On the contrary, I’m «Salty»…

This review is strictly for their al pastor tacos. In 2010, I stumbled in here one fateful cold morning with my friend because I said I was hungry. I didn’t know what to order and my friend suggested the tacos de al pastor.(My friend is Mexican.) I had no idea what al pastor was at the time and it was my first time ordering Mexican food in my horrible Spanish. Unknowingly, I was about to eat my favorite tacos de al pastor of all time. This place made me think al pastor was the way to go instead of my usual carne asada. But I was disappointed every time I got it anywhere else. Even in my four years of living/studying in San Diego, where I experienced some bomb Mexican food. Even at my boyfriend’s Mexican family parties where his uncle(who is in the food truck business) makes the tacos. Seriously, nothing beat the juiciness of the al pastor I was served here. Yesterday, I had the opportunity to get some al pastor tacos from here after 3(almost 4) years. It was a dream come true. And i realized that their secret ingredient is the delicious salsa they put on top with the perfect time amount of kick. The radishes and carrots are just the icing on top. Somebody pinch me, I feel like I’m drooling just thinking about the deliciousness of their tacos de al pastor. I needa go back ASAP.
