I don’t like to be negative but I just want to be honest. I’ve been to Posey’s 5 times in my life. Once when I was 6, 10, 15 and 16. The food was very good. I got something different each time. Here’s where the not so good part comes in. Each and every time I have came and eaten I have gotten a bad«stomach bug», maybe food poisoning? I’m not sure but before I even left the building my stomach started hurting really bad and I’d have to run to the bathroom as well as throw up a couple times. Now, at first we thought it was a coincidence but now as an adult I can assure you it was not. I have never gotten a stomach bug or food poisoning any other time before in my life. I’m the type that never gets sick. I haven’t gotten a cold in 5+ years, never gotten the flu, had strep when I was a toddler, and that’s about all. I’ve also eaten at many different places and never had any kind of stomach issue. I don’t have a sensitive stomach, I don’t throw up ever, and I’m not very picky. So as much as I hate to say it, it was definitely the food at Posey’s that made me sick every single time I’ve gone in my life time.

Popular family Buffett. Not a huge selection, but taste is fair for the price. Salad bar is standard. Good service/attentive staff.

If you want a buffet of southern fried, heart burn then this is your place. They consistently have a full parking lot and wait. People come from miles a way, but not sure that they have anything special. Very few«healthy» options and even when I have asked for meals to have no seasoning or salt it was so heavy I could barely eat it. Wait staff is very attentive and friendly, and you can tell that management keeps things running consistently.

Posey’s was jam packed the night I went. We waited 5 more or less minutes. I got the buffet. Every item of the buffet was was fresh. The main attraction is whole catfish fried to perfection. Greens, chicken, shrimp, salad bar were all very good. I think their main attraction dessert is peach cobbler. It looked great but I didn’t taste it. The food I had seemed freshly prepared. That is to say no canned green beans or powdered potatoes. The service is good they were way more attentive than one would expect as busy as it was. I think it is family owned and it seems the entire family pitches in to make it work. It is a very relaxed come as you are atmosphere. There are fun interest things on the walls like retro cars though they dont amount to ambiance. I’d go back.

No complaints about the food. Very well prepared, very tasty, excellent menu portions and an overall great value. The buffet has an adequate selection, and the service is friendly. The atmosphere is great– pictures of old retro cars and airplanes give it a unique southern type of feel. My only complaint– and the only reason I refrained from five stars– is that the restaurant feels a little dirty. The carpets seem pretty dirty, and the tables tend to feel«sticky» and old. Other than that, I highly recommend Posey’s. Would definitely go back.

A bit of a disappointment, can’t say we’ll be back. We thought Posey’s would be better based on the amount of cars we see in the parking lot every time we drive by. Well, today was finally the day we stepped inside for lunch. Even though the parking lot was full, like it always is, we were seated right away. But it took several minutes for our waitress to come over to our table, and then another several minutes before my fiancée received a menu. We both decided to go with the buffet anyway. Food wasn’t bad as a whole, but it was nothing special either. Fried chicken was good(as with most Southern buffets), and the creamed corn was also tasty. Mashed potatoes were flavorless though, and the Fried Pork Chop I sampled was very dry. Only dessert offered was a chocolate pudding with vanilla wafers. Also my fiancée told me the broccoli was brown at the salad bar. She did like orange slice in her Sweet Tea rather than a lemon slice. As I stated above, service was less than desirable. Not sure why two people needed to be up front greeting people when the waitresses in the dining area were short-handed. One woman near us got tired of waiting for her check, so she went up front to pay and leave. Honestly, the only thing Posey’s has going for it is the atmosphere. Sure, the décor is a lot nicer than The Hazel Green Family Restaurant, but the latter has MUCHBETTER food than Posey’s.

This place is tried and true. The buffet always has fried chicken, peach cobbler, and all the good southern staples. If you don’t like buffet style the food I’ve had from the menu is great. The grilled chicken sandwich comes with cheese, bacon, the fixings, and their delicious honey mustard. The fries are also yum. Tea comes with an orange slice instead of a lemon(and I love that!)!

Food is bland & never seasoned. Quite confident the majority of it comes from a can. My mother’s steak tips were given to another customer & no one knew it until 30 minutes after the order was placed. We won’t be back & I will spread the word.

While Posey’s isn’t the most beautiful restaurant, or offer the widest selection of food, what they do offer is delicious and very affordable. My two boys love their burgers with French Fries, and I’ve enjoyed their dinner buffet which contains Fried Chicken, Catfish, and the type of food one considers to be «Southern food» Please note that if you are health conscious — YOUWILLNOTFINDANYTHINGSUITABLEHERE. Even the Salad Bar has very few healthy options. But if you’re willing to eat some greasy food, it’s going to taste great!

I’m a true Southern girl, but most of the food at Posey’s is a greasy mess. When it first opened, everything was GREAT! Within a few years, the buffet was all greasy food that tasted the same, but the menu items were still good. It wasn’t long until the menu items weren’t good either. I ate there today at a friend’s request.(It was my first visit in almost five years & I drive by it at least four times a week.) We had the buffet. The steamed broccoli was good. The mashed potatoes were tasteless. The meatloaf was slightly greasy & spicier than expected, but okay. The fried chicken was EXTREMELY greasy & not that flavorful. I should note that it is VERY popular, but our family is not a fan.

Posey’s is one of the best Southern cooking restaurants around & we’re lucky to have it here. I’ve never had anything there that wasn’t delicious. Buffet is awesome, I’ve never had to order off the menu. Wear your big pants and go!

Posey’s is crowded and will make you fat. Sometimes they sit you at a long table next to people. But, besides that, it’s great. The buffet is fried chicken and catfish, mashed potatoes, etc. Ordering off the menu is good too. The steak tips are huge and actual steak. If you show up and the decently sized parking lot is full and people are parking on the grass, mentally prepare yourself for the wait. This happens very often.

Posey’s is a really good place to eat. We eat here a lot because it is close and it is tasty. Their buffet is really good especially the squash casserole. I particularly enjoy the chicken fingers. They are absolutely delicious

EATATPOSEY’S! This is the second time I’ve eaten there and I look forward to any opportunity to go back. It’s a little out of the way for us, but worth the drive. They have a menu, but I’ve chosen the buffet each time I’ve been there. It offered fried chicken, fried catfish, mac & cheese, beans, cornbread, mashed potatoes, and the BEST peach cobbler(I was told in all of Alabama– and I believe it) I may have ever had!
