George Alexander House

My husband and I have stayed at the incredible George Alexander house many times. Everything about this B&B is special. First of all, the location (which is about 4 blocks from the central square of Healdsburg) is perfect as you can walk everywhere, but you are just slightly out of the busiest part of Healdsburg. The Inn has 4 lovely rooms, each with it’s own private bath. Our favorite room is «Lucille» as the bed is the most comfortable we have ever slept in. All of the rooms are really nice with a great blend of Victorian antiques and the owners amazing asian pieces (which they collected over many years of living in Japan and traveling extensively).
Holly and Mel (the owners/​innkeepers) are such friendly, welcoming people. Plus they really know Healdsburg, the restaurants, the wineries, etc. so they can help you put together a perfect visit to the area.
Holly’s breakfasts are out of this world. Our favorites include her eggs florentine and «dutch babies» which are puffed pancakes. She often bakes her own muffins too, so be hungry!
We love, love, love this place. It’s like a home away from home!

A beautiful Victorian house located only two blocks from the Healdsburg Square, the gracious host, Holly, made our stay both comfortable and enjoyable.
Fortified with a sumptuous breakfast prepared by Holly, we set off to visit wineries suggested by our host. The Healdsburg area is filled with great wineries, much more down-​to-​earth than Napa. During our 4 day visit to Healdsburg, we bought several cases of wine.
Back to the George Alexander House, there are only 4 rooms, so it provides a restful and quiet atmosphere. The pond with the understated waterfall gave us a serene respite, sitting and reading. The house is tastefully decorated with Asian art that showcases the owners’ great sense of color and design.
We can’t wait to go back to the George Alexander House. We were made to feel very welcome, and regretted leaving.
