Um. Yum. Between PapaPietroPerry, Arista, and Lynmar I might never need another pinot again. This place is so delicious. Higher price point but so good. Definitely a great place for a pinot lover. Kristen Greenberg is great. So down to earth and delightful. The rest of the staff were nice as well. You’ll see me again

Best Pinot’s and Zins *anywhere*. The staff are always very informative, genuinely friendly, unpretentious and attentive. Their wines are just unbelievable and unparalleled. We are now members of their wine club and look forward to enjoying the fruits of their labor regularly. The winery is located in the same location as the tasting room and their patio is very comfortable with stunning Dry Creek Valley views that are breathtaking. Nothing like taking in the view of grapes as you enjoy the wine! We’ve known Renae and Bruce since 2000 as we were next door neighbors in SF before they opened in Dry Creek(and prior to our move to Portland, OR.) They were the best neighbors with the best wine then and now. We are so happy for their deserved success! Cheers!

Cool small winery. Not what I’d call the nicest place(location). My wife liked the wines here a lot, I thought they were okay… People were really nice, we ordered some wine and are in the club now. The wine took about 5 weeks to arrive which was odd.

Fantastic Pinot Noir. We were able to pack a lunch and enjoy it outside with our wine. They also sold bubble wrapped bottle holders that we used to ship the bottles. Perfect.

This is indeed the best Pinot I’ve tried, and it is my favorite! I currently have four bottles sitting in my house from friends that know how much I love it. The flavors are clean, truly delicious. The winery or boutique is pretty small, but you can go in and taste from their wide variety and leave extremely happy with the experience. Definitely not a cheap wine, but is totally worth if you enjoy pinots with a great body.

It’s a little odd to find a tasting room for a Pinot producer in Dry Creek Valley, but these guys make excellent wines from Sonoma Coast, Russian River Valley, and Anderson Valley. Additionally, I wouldn’t call this a destination winery, it’s located directly across from the Family Wineries Dry Creek Cooperative Tasting Room and the whole area is lacking any romance or charm. Once you get past all the cosmetic stuff, the wines here are fantastic. The wines are well-crafted, elegant, and priced right. If you don’t like the Pinots here, you simply don’t like Pinot.

This was just a tasting room and frankly pricey in comparison to the other wineries. Good wine, we did buy some and they provided discounts based on purchases. Also there are 5 other tasting rooms within the parking lot, so great access to other wines. Good stop.

Ok so let me start off by saying different strokes for different folks. Not sure why they have any negative ratings, because this is honestly some of the best Pinot Noir that you will find in this area. If you know the history of Pinot in CA, then you know that this winery is very much connected to the humble beginnings of Pinot in healdsburg. Go ahead and google it if you want to know more! The people in the tasting room are so warm and welcoming, and you can tell they take great pride in what they do. Everything they poured was unbelievable! What a great way to start off our trip. For those that bash this place, get a clue. This isn’t a place to get wasted, it’s a place to experience some of the best that Headlsburg has to offer! Keep doing what you do Ben and Co!

I’m a Pinot whore — but seriously, I could be. The nice gal over at Foppiano suggested we go here — in fact she said it was hands down her favorite Pinot Noir winery — so I knew this was a place I’d have to visit. Agree that the tasting room isn’t much to rave over, but when the very first taste knocks your boots, you know you are in for a good time. The bottles are beautiful with screen-printed labels and very well priced. I am thrilled we found this place and am happy that I joined their wine club.

There’s no happier sound than a cork being popped out of a fresh bottle of Pinot and Papapietro pops open a lot of bottles. Happy days! With a dashing array of Pinot Noir on the tasting list, you’re in for a treat. It’s Pinot Mania in this joint and it is goooood. If you don’t like Pinot, 1.) Don’t go to Papa’s and 2.) Have your buddy push you off a tall building. Their wines are pretty solid across the board and they cater to a variety of pallets so it’s inexcusable not to like their wine. The staff is friendly, the merchandise is cute and they do one of the best open houses in the valley! They wine and dine you like none other! Whether you’re a local or a tourist, Papapietro’s is a must visit!

Came here because one of the other sommelier’s at a nearby vineyard recommended it. A little bit disappointing because it was mostly pinots and whites. But the sommelier here was nice enough to just let me try the zins and leave. Might be good if I liked pilots. Place was kind of like a wine plaza, with all these tasting rooms around a parking lot. No pretty vineyards to look at here. Maybe this is just a local joint? Update: Renae P. did msg me saying it’s located on a vineyard, but I didn’t see one from the parking lot to the entrance of the tasting room. Also she said they don’t make whites, but they did have whites when I went to the tasting room. You can also see a few chardonnays listed on their tasting menu online.

Made our first visit to Papapietro Perry Winery for a tasting today. We were recommended to Papapietro Perry by the great people over at Ridge Lytton Springs. I must say, we have never been to any winery where we liked EVERY wine we tasted until today. Our favorite wineries always have one or two wines that stand out from the rest. Our host, Shelly, was sincere, passionate and knowledgable about both their wines and wines in general. Fortunately we only tasted 7 wines and bought all 7 plus joined their wine club. Truly a winemaker we can grow to love! It’s amazing how the right host and the right winery attitude can make the experience so enjoyable. This is a winery that truly values it’s customers. After disappointing tastings and cavalier attitudes towards customers at Rombauer, Nickel and Nickel and Far Niente, it’s a joy to come over the hill to Sonoma County and enjoy the relaxed and friendly attitude and truly terrific wines. Wonderful wines and super helpful hosts. Highly recommended.

Great winery! It is in the same area as a co-op with other wineries which not everyone loves but I thought it was nice to be able to hit a few wineries at once. Of course it is not the same as walking into a tasting room at the actual vineyards but if the wines are great then I can look past such a thing! I’m not typically a Pinot lover but these Pinots gave me a reason to start romancing the grape. If you’re into pinot, this is a must go and if you want to be a believer in pinots, then it’s still a must go! There’s a $ 10 tasting fee but it is a Visa Signature participant. The 777 is to die for. They even do a good Zin!

Pinot Noir… this is the movie Sideways vision of heaven. Delicate structure, big flavors delicious Pinot Noir all on a windy little road outside Healdsburg CA. Too much to brag on them about other than to say get in your car and go! When the bigger producers like J Winery tell you to visit a boutique winery such as Papapietro Perry(you guys need and acronym!) you take their advice. Wonderful staff, and several bottles later one of my favorites.

Great pinots in a laid-back tasting room, this place is perfect escape from the frills of other wineries. Papapietro has a variety Pinot noirs from several vineyards around the Russian River Valley, each with different tasting notes and nuances. One of my favorites was from the Leras family vineyards, it had a subtle earthy taste and tasted great. Each flight comes with 5 tastings so there is something for every palate and the staff is extremely knowledgeable and patient with answering any questions you may have. Definitely worth trying if you’re in Healdsburg, no reservations required!

Among my favorite Pinot Noir from California! We thoroughly enjoyed our visit and warm hospitality of Ben and Yolanda Papapietro. Looking forward to a return visit sometime with more friends and Pinot lovers!

Nice experience… just okay Pinots. Everyone’s preferences are different, I suppose. We snagged a corner of the bar after about a minute of walking into the room and tried their free pour. Bonus. We moved into the tasting, and had plenty of pinot and zin. Nothing was bad… plenty was decent… but nothing made us feel the need to drop the moolah on a bottle. There is a lot of great pinot in the area, so there’s no reason to buy a bottle you don’t absolutely love. Our server was very nice, knew his stuff and didn’t look too bummed when we didn’t buy. Next time we are in the area, I would probably try it again. A different vintage set may excite me more — and I’m told the patio is lovely!

This is some of the best Pinot noir I have ever had the pleasure to enjoy. Just off Dry creek road sits this tiny tasting room, but don’t let its size fool you, they have much to offer. I was greeted through the doors by a very welcoming and friendly staff and an old family dog, good boy. This is the real deal Pinot, you have to taste it!

Papapietro Perry ranks #1 for me in the Pinot category. They’ve held my top spot for years — sommolier’s suggestion @ Mr. Stox. Even better is the story. Here’s a short version — Friends(The Papapietros and the Perrys) who enjoy wine, develop a passion for Pinots and start making wine in their garage, after years of development they decide they’re ready to market it and start a family(s) owned business. Throw in some Italian heritage and pics on the website showing family members making wine — and straining with Tupperware — and its easy to be a fan. Their wines remind me of my wife — Near perfect — Balanced and Complex, full bodied and delicious with lots to admire, Spicy and Seductive. OK — I got those lines from ladies shirts on their website. I could have said they were more like me — «Long lasting with a big finish» but I hate to brag. I appreciate a sense of humor — their motto is «So Good You’ll Want to Swallow» — how can you go wrong with that! Plus FTW — they love dogs. There are a few low reviews for service in the tasting room — yet almost all of those state that the wine is good — most people use words like«magnificent, best ever, and excellent» when describing their wine. Our tasting experience was just fine — it wasn’t very busy, so hard to assess. but our server was personable and answered some questions as we roamed the place. There is a nice patio — looks like they have had some fun events! The location was unexpected, surrounded by vineyards in an area with a collection of other small wineries/tasting rooms. You can park and walk to several of them — kinda cool because of the convenience and cooperative feeling between the places. Their production is small, but I have found their wines from time to time locally. Usually if a place has them — they sell out quickly! Current releases include one Chardonnay, one Zin, and nine Pinot Noirs from a variety of vineyards. What can I say about the taste? — When we go places that don’t have their wine, we ask for something similar and if it’s close — it’s enjoyed! What one person thinks is pricey varies — their wines are in the $ 50 a bottle range — retail price. Toward the top end of what we usually spend. We have bought them in the past, picked up a couple of bottles this time, and I am certain we will buy more in the future. We get positive feedback every time we serve them. Tasting room 4 stars, wine 6 stars = 5 stars! If you’re a Pinot fan, I highly recommend taking a look at their website and giving their wines a try!
