I absolutely love this place. Forget Ross… this place is even better! Be ready to dig and don’t come in a hurry! There’s so much to explore and see! 5 stores and just about everything imaginable! Some things are brand new with tags! It’s the ultimate treasure hunt!

I used to recommend this place, been going they’re for years; had some good finds etc, but buyer be ware! They are now engaging in credit card fraud. On sept. 17, a few weeks ago, they had a bunch of cars for sale with a big sign stating they were all $ 500. My hubby picked one of and when he got to cash register with credit card they inform him it’s actually $ 5000. Well he did not have that much on card any way, but since card was in her hand she runs it at same time he’s stating he doesn’t want it at that price. Somehow the gal runs the card for all he’s got on it, $ 617. Then apologizes and issues him a sale voided receipt. He figures is a done deal, but goes to buy something and find the card is not going through. Turns out they did not refund money. My husband goes to talk to mgr. I think name was Ron or Rob who says no problem we’ll fix it. Nell, the book keeper will straighten it out and credit you tomorrow first thing in AM. We needed the money because we wed going to a dear friends memorial in Santa Cruz that weekend. They promised it would be put back by fri, no luck. Then they say by Monday. Again no luck. My hubby decides to physically drive up to see what’s going on. They bring him to Nells office who rudely starts telling him without listening that she owes him nothing is the credit cards fault etc. We’ve already spoken to bank who see the charge and no pending credit. My husband insists, so she threatens to call cops. He says go right ahead, is my money I need back. Then they get two guys to escort him out stating they are calling police. No problem. He waits outside about 20 min ready to make a police report. Finally they come back out and say they aren’t calling cops because it’s a waist of cops time. They ask him to leave again saying they’ve already credited and is the banks fault. We call credit card again who say it could take up to seven business days to show up, so we wait. At 6 business days we ask visa to call them before we make claim. They call and are hung up on twice. We decide, with advise of visa, to wait one more business day, just in case. Next day, still no sign of refund and when we have visa call again they are hung up on twice, again. We file claim. I’ll keep you posted on what happens next, as claim was filed today. These people are crooks. Doesn’t this sound like credit card fraud?

Big. Occupies several barns. Lots of merchandise. A LOT of crap. Diamond in the rough is a one in thousand find. If you’re looking for used jeans, you’re in luck. If you’re looking for designer label dresses, you’re in the wrong place
I used to shop for Lp records here. No more. The vinyl is all beat to shit. Prices are double Goodwill.

This is the best thrift store I have ever shopped. Actually, it is 6 shops at one location. There is a car lot, antique shop, clothes shop, electronics shop and finally a kitchen shop with a snack bar. The best.

I always have liked this place a lot. The manager is a very nice guy! About all the bad reviews on here, it’s a freaking GOODWILL, what do you expect to walk into, Macys!!! They may not always have the best selections, but that is what you get for going to a place that gets used items donated for free. If you are more open minded when you go there and have a good amount of time, you will surely find tons of treasures. If you are smart you will go on specified sale days and gets loads of items for dirt cheap! Most furniture items are fixer uppers, but that just means you get the satisfaction of fixing the furniture exactly to your liking, and you get to do something productive and meaningful. If you dig deep enough in the clothes you will come across some brand new name brand stuff… I have always found cute shoes that just need a bit of sprucing up. My favorite salvation army of all

The place to shop for anything and everything. We even bought a car once and it turned out great.

This is the worse «Thrift Store» ever. I’m referring myself to the big clothing pavillion up on the hill, next to the snack bar. Their customer service is REALLY, REALLY BAD, and scary! They’re rude, impolite, unprofessional, terrible in math, and each time I visited, they had a different check-​out procedure. They also make you feel like they’re doing you a huge favor instead of appreciate your business. And that starts with the supervisors, and a couple of employees. Really embarrassing. It is so bad that I don’t even want to describe here what happens in details. Here is my alert, make sure the receipt itemizes what you buy, and has the correct discounts. Much better would be if you can shop some place else and avoid this place at all! Will keep you from having to deal with them. TERRIBLE, TERRIBLE! TERRIBLE! TERRIBLE AND TERRIBLE!

I decided to head down to Lytton Springs after being told I definitely needed to check it out before doing an Ikea shopping trip for my new place. I was concerned about the mixed reviews but figured it was worth checking out any way. I mean, how bad could it be? Well, as it turns out, pretty bad.
This is one of the most unorganized, dirty and over-​priced «thrift» stores I’ve been to. The clothes aren’t organized by color and as far as I could tell not by size either, but I could buy less expensive new items elsewhere. I wasn’t looking for clothes so spent very little time in this area.
I was looking for housewares and furniture though. Everything was jumbled together, dirty and since it had rained the night before some of the things stored outside where wet. Things are just jammed on shelves without any sense of order or organization. Many things had no price and the ones that did were ridiculous. I guess I’ll be making that trip to Ikea after all.
I’m not sure what’s going on here, but there are lots of really great thrift shops in northern California. No need to visit this one.

This place has gone downhill. Clothes are worn and over priced. Everything is overpriced really. They should throw out some of the stuff they have for sale, really, as I think their inventory is becoming filled with their own leftovers. And I can’t see the good stuff moving very fast…
I used to really like supporting this place as the Litton Springs one is a drug rehab center and I so want to support that. It did not have the same vibe today… I hope it recovers. Maybe this is a bad week for them, I don’t know.

What a disappointment!!! I feel like I visited on a bad day. I spent most of the time in the clothing section, not the boutique, but the main building. I found a few good items, but my goodness! The stuff that they have on the racks is sad. So many disgusting, dirty clothes, with stains… nobody will buy it. I walked to the other buildings, but was depressed by the lack of quality. The sad, sad furniture that should be at the dump, not Salvation Army. And the boutique was just full of cruddy-​crud. Sorry. I was hoping to find some treasures. I did not. Don’t waste your time here.

5 buildings of stuff to go through, Tuesday’s are the ½ off days for clothes. Doesn’t include– home& furniture but still good deals. Definitely one of my first places when I’m thrift store shopping.

OMG — I waited 2 yrs to go to this place. I kept up with the reviews and just couldn’t wait to get up here. Finally this past Saturday my side kick and I get in the car and roll out. Drivng 1hr and 30min from the eastbay. Marin, Rohert Park, Petluma etc. Beautiful scenic route.
So we get here — wow. So we get into the thrift store — Uuumm is this it. The photos make it look like its this huge store but in reality its not. Well its not that big if you’ve been to the salvation army off Salvation Army Family Store — 1522 S Winchester Blvd, San Jose, CA or to the st. vincent at 3775 Decoto Road, Fremont. or the giant goodwill in San Francisco –1580 Mission Street San Francisco, CA 94 103 or even the Goodwill at 3060 Almaden Expy, San Jose, CA

I thought this place was going to top these places but HELL NO! The thrift store itself was medium size. The upstairs portion is for the men. All downstairs is for women. The pots and pans and blankets are located in the boutique. And boy they were marked up to $ 20.00. Used not brand new. SAY WHAT???
The pickings were so so. To me it definitely was not worth the gas. My friend and I stumbled on a Sutter Health VNA & HospiceThrift Store — (6357 Commerce Boulevard, Rohnert Park, California,) and she found a beautiful huge comforter there for $ 12.00. A black bear diner is near by so eat up afterwards :)
Ok back to my adventure…
The boutique is where all the good nice stuff is. Stuff that you would usually find when shopping at any thrift store. But they mark up the nice things. A nice blouse which is usually $ 5.00 — they mark it up to $ 13.00. They pretty much leave all the crappy stuff in the regular store. Faded, stained, overly washed cloths. Though the shoes were okay — but the nicer shoes once again was in the boutique marked up all the way to $ 20 — $ 30.00. Say what??? OMG!
And the bins — I could not wait to dig into the bins. Well the bins were full of crap. (Look at my photos) Things you could find a dollar store brand new! Broken crap in there too. Puzzles with misssing pieces, just a bunch of mess. But if you’re a tin can collector — ya know the tinc cans with tea and coffee — this maybe a spot for you to come. I did buy a medium size tin can to store some goodies in, my friend got a untinsel holder, and I got one of those curved in glass picture frame. All 3 items costed up $ 0.75. And I found a nice gray tank top/​shirt in the thrift store for $ 5.00 but it was marked down to $ 3.50. The fact of the matter is — coming all this way not to buy anything. We had to buy something to make the trip worth while.
Needless to say — we won’t be back. But on the flip note –going to places like this — you never know what you’ll find. I love my tin can from New Orleans.

Absolutely the best Salvation Army clothing location I’ve ever been to. Huge.
Yes, you are going to spend a lot of time looking through racks to find those gems, but if you have the time, you will find steals compared to places such as Plato’s Closet or My Sister’s Closet. A mostly new looking Steve Madden purse for $ 3, a necklace from 1928 fir $ 2.50, a new looking H&M skirt for $ 2.50, among other steals.

The number of amazing finds I have gotten here over the years is almost unreal. I almost hate to mention it here and attract more people, but I gotta share the love with my fellow Unilocalers!
The 1^st of my two favorite stores here is the giant clothes barn that branches left up a small incline when you drive up. They always seem to be having some type of discount on their clothes, shoes, and accessories. Discounts I’ve noticed lately (let me know what you find and I’ll keep this updated!):
* 50% off everything on Tuesdays!
* 20% off everything on Thursdays!
* 50% off women’s clothes Fridays!
Other notes:
* They have a couple of changing rooms. Use them because they have a 7 day with tags, exchange-​only return policy.
* The in-​store radio station is now always set to Christian.
* Be prepared to spend a couple of hours in here to go through everything and find those treasures.
The 2^nd of my two favorite stores is the perpetual Yard Sale. Two words: dirt and cheap. Here is where you gather a ton of miscellany from clothes and household to entertainment and furniture and then a worker will write you a tag for the whole bundle.
Notes:
* Be prepared to get dirty! Keep some hand wipes and sanitizer for after your dig, you’ll be glad you did.
* Check records to make sure what’s inside matches the cover and the condition too.
* Sometimes workers will let you negotiate the price and sometimes not.

Thrift store heaven! Multiple stores centered in a Sonoma County hillside just below Coppola winery. If I’m an old shoe, let me die here!
They have one area devoted to clothing, then another to antiques, then furniture, and so on and so forth. Make a day of it! They even have a café so you can relax in between pickings.
You do have to have patience and courtesy as it can get really packed with shoppers sometimes! It’s worth the frustration to find your treasure though…

If regular old Salvation Army stores are like Chuck-​e-​Cheeses, then the Healdsburg Salvation Army is Disney World. Words can hardly describe what a massive compound of junk and jewels this place is. Because it’s also home to Salvation Army’s rehab center, it resembles more of a sprawling ranch estate than a cement block shop. You’ve simply gotta see it for yourself (and bring a large truck).
There are 5 different stores located on the SA ranch: one for furniture, clothing, antiques/​décor, cars, and a café (because you may spend all day here). I was looking for a cheap coffee table, and although I didn’t find my perfect match, I did spy tons of funky vintage chairs and couches that I wished I had room in my car for. We’re talking bright yellow velour, mint green satin, and flower power patterns. An amazing amount of refurb-​able gems.
The clothing section was pretty dismal (yet, a jackpot for ugly holiday sweaters) and came with the standard musty thrift store stench. But they were having a 40% off everything sale, so I held my breath and went for it. Scored a nice grey wool blazer, which needed serious sanitation but for $ 4, totally worth it!

Amazing. Amazing, amazing, amazing. I LOVE this place. I have yet to go and not find a deal on what I’m looking for. I’ve found a Juicy Couture dress for $ 7, probably the cutest little yellow high heels ever for $ 1.50, and my kitchen table and chairs for $ 80, and it’s a beautiful old set. I went late on a Saturday, about an hour before they closed, and the people at the furniture were not only extremely kind and helpful, but really negotiated with us. It was already a 50% off day, and they were willing to go even lower.
I really can’t even describe the great experiences I’ve had here. Wonderful people, great finds. Totally worth the beautiful drive up to Healdsburg!
UPDATE: They no longer negotiate on furniture prices, it seems. But it’s all for a good cause, and the prices are all still incredibly reasonable.

On another of our «4^th Friday of the Month-​Half price» treks up here, we have come to the conclusion that it may be a while before we go for it again. True there is a lot of shopping to be done, but it is hit heavily, and the guy running the outside bin rummaging area kind of peed on the parade by announcing as he opened the gates, that they were saving «a lot of good stuff for Monday».
Fun to hit once in a while, and I did find a few goodies in the bins of books up in the main store.

Thank god for the Salvation Army! I recently had a North Bay house full of things to donate, ranging from large furniture items to office supplies and everything in between.
The people on the phone and those who came to pick up the bounty were so very kind, and went out of their way to help me by coming back on an emergency second run… allowing me to vacate the premises exactly when I needed to, with moments to spare.

I visited the campus style thrift stores on the Saturday before Easter.
To my surprise they were having a huge Easter Egg hunt for children. It was organizxed and efficient. They seem to be very community minded. The stores though old were clean and had tons of stuff for sale, all of it 40% off. I especially enjoyed shopping in a building that used to be a barn that had tons of clothing in easy to find sections. Great lighting and friendly employees. Also enjoyed the antique store. A lot of nice collectible treasures to browse. At the snackbar they had hotdogs, tamales, and a lot of other items to eat. You can shop and then eat on the run! It is worth the drive, make sure you have a couple of hours to spend there and be ready to take home something special.
