A review really doesn’t matter any more since Scout has closed. I was never impressed with the bar, everything was over the top and the business model seemed to be crazy. Didn’t last long and a new bar will soon take it’s place. Someone lost a ton of money on this place!

No we’re not a gay bar, no nothing happens on the waterbeds. Scout is a bar, a place to drink, dance and have fun. Come in and check the place out, meet the employees and then judge from your experience. Scout is by far the nicest bar in Healdsburg. Cheapest and strongest drinks in town guaranteed. Hope to see mite and more faces each day. John Owner and Just plain awesome Scout Bar

I have been to scout about 4 times now. Once with the guys and 2 – 3 times with my wife. They play good music and I love the vintage stereo they have. I like the feel and vibe of the place, which is vintage ski town bar it seems.(I have read that was similar to the look they intended). I heard all the strange rumors and hype. But this is just a cool bar. Nothing more, nothing less. This bar does not cater to the«look at me» crowd that infests Healdsburg. The bartenders are great, welcoming and attentive and play good tunes! My only complaint is I asked for one drink and they said they did not have the right liquor for it and did not know how to make it. I’m sure with some seasoning they will come around. The crowd has been pretty mixed. From tourist to local. Younger to older. Dancing to sitting. I like a good mix. Yes there are 2 water beds in the corners of the bar, for the swinger crowd I guess. Yes there are also 4 free pinball machines. I think one may be broken. Yes they do play strange but cool cult movies on the televisions.

As a local I had heard all of the ridiculous rumors about this place, but I wanted to check it out for myself. I first came here for my roommate’s birthday and we had a fantastic night. The music was great, the pinball is FREE, there are plenty of seating options(bar stools, booths, and yes, two water beds), and there’s plenty of room to dance. Also, the drinks are probably the cheapest in town and the bartenders were fun to chat with. I think everyone needs to grab a drink here before they come to any obnoxious conclusions about this place.
