This place is so wonderful. The wine servers were extra friendly, informative and engaging. For a small winery experience this place is the best

Nestled in Dry Creek Valley, this small artisan winery rocks! Start with the sassy manager, Carol, and taste elegant Viognier and Sauvignon Blanc, then move on to the kings of the hill –Cabernets in the style of Bordeux, rich, full bodied, elegant finishes that dance in your mouth. The wine maker, Katerina, crafts superior wines. Must be experienced!

Carol gave my friends and I a fantastic tasting! The Viognier wine was my favorite, we purchased a few bottles to go. I enjoyed myself and will be back, Thank you Carol and West Wines.

I had such high hopes for this place based on the Unilocal reviews. The parking situation is a bit confusing. After turning in the driveway, it seems that you pass by someone’s house. But the long driveway seems to lead you into the vineyard. We ended up turning around and parking outside of the house at the beginning of the driveway. Once inside, the staff was really friendly and informative; she seemed to be a local and know a lot about the various events that take place up there throughout the year. The view from the tasting room is incredible. There is a small patio with tables and chairs for you to relax in as you look out on the vineyard. The wines were okay. We didn’t buy anything. I don’t think I would ever go back nor would I recommend the wines to anyone. Tasting fee starts at $ 10 per person.

I forgot that I had been here once before. You park near the vineyards and walk into the small tasting room. The staff is friendly. The wines are okay. Both times I’ve been there, I’ve walked away with nothing.

Phenomenal. What a true Cab Sauv gem in Dry Creek! Wifey and I traveled up to Healdsburg on a sleepy Sunday afternoon and happened upon this beautiful winery(look for the large West Wines sign!) We were greeted by the extraordinarily friendly owner, Bengt, who welcomed us into his business and talked wine(and his I.T. background) as if we were regulars. We selected the vertical option(working backward from ’07 — ’03) and were astounded by how good the Cabs were. We bought the lot, as it were, and left very happy. The grounds are small and quaint: perfect for a relaxing lunch with some nibbles. Can’t wait to come back!

West Wines checked all the boxes for us during our trip to Sonoma, during which we wanted more intimate winery experiences with out-of-the-way wineries. When we got there, the owner/winemaker was shucking oysters for guests. Because, hey, why not, right? The woman who did our tasting was incredibly friendly and personable and knowledgeable. The wines were outstanding. The view is gorgeous. After our tasting we sat down for a picnic lunch while we talked to the winemaker about this and that. Afterwards we were invited to walk the vineyard and sample some of the grapes pre-harvest. I highly recommend West for a visit. In the end we walked away with several outstanding cabernets and blends.

Totally delightful. Came here on a trip in late August, and I’m so glad I stopped in. West is run by warm, charming people who know what they’re doing when it comes to wine. Their cabs ’06 and ’05 are among the most pleasurable big cabs I’ve had, and I could have drunk their Viognier ’10 all day. I was with a friend from Burgundy, and he – somewhat grudgingly – proclaimed it some of the best Californian wine he’d tasted. Very reasonable prices, a beautiful patio overlooking the vineyard… definitely worth a trip.

West Wines was my favorite winery I visited on my first trip to Sonoma last week. Nance, the winery attendant was very friendly and knowledgeable about the grapes and the wines. The tasting room was clean and open with beautiful views of the vineyards. I bought a reasonably priced unbaked Viognier. I highly recommend this winery.

Fun, quaint winery off the beaten path. Really enjoyed a recent visit, where we had the place to ourselves & had a leisurely tasting with super friendly, knowledgeable staff(Nance was especially helpful & had lots of interesting suggestions & stories). We were partial to the Viognier & Cabarbet. Scenic vineyards, outdoor seating, great conversation, wine distinctive enough to be served for a Nobel Laureate event… what could be better?! Be sure to mix up your visits to the«name» vineyards in the area with a visit to West Wines.

I had the good fortune of being the only customer in the tasting room on a visit this past Sunday. The tasting room is quainter than most, even by Healdsburg standards. But I loved it. Also had a lovely conversation with the woman working there, who graciously recommended other area wineries to me. Will definitely return.

I confess… I know the folks who run West Wines, but when they are friendly and welcoming and make delicious wine, can you blame me for wanting to recommend their beautiful little winery to others? This is off the beaten trail, but well worth it. I recommend the Cabernet Sauvignon Reserve 2005(succulent!) and the Voignier Reserve 2010(like jasmine tea! amazing!)…but please don’t buy too much of it, because I need to restock.

We were driving down the road and just HAD to stop because we have relatives named West. What a great find! We are from the Willamette Valley in Oregon and are able to spend a lot of time wine tasting. No tasting room is as personable as this one. Both of the staff are knowledgeable, friendly. No uppity attitudes here. They are willing to share their expertise with out coming across as more sophisticated than the customers. The wines are superb and obviously the staff is takes pride in their product. No mass production here. This isn’t for the masses. It’s for people that enjoy good ambiance and great wine.

My girlfriends and I stumbled upon this winery. It had great views right off the bat as you get to park right next to the vineyard. The wine tasting room itself is quite small, perhaps 10 people at the most. But we lucked out and had the place all to our selves. And our wine pourer JoAnn was wonderful!!! She made the experience. Very personal, thoughtful, knew her wines, and offered a cheese plate with our tastings. We ended up buying about 8 bottles between my group of friends. The Cabernet Sauvignon Reserve 2009 was amazing!

We were able to visit West Wines on a recent tour with Terrific Tours. We had the opportunity to taste 5 wines and even met the sommelier, who really knew his wines and told us all about the education it took to get the title. The tasting room was a simple long counter set with seats for all of us so we were able to just sit and relax during the tasting. I really liked the old Ford V8 that was outside the tasting room, it was a very cool antique to have there and made for great photos. I would highly suggest a visit to West Wines, you will feel very welcome and will get to sample some great wines along the way.

The wines are ALLGREAT. We pulled into this little winery tasting room out of luck. LUCK!!! Saw the sign and much to our surprise, found a little gem. I was with my niece and her friend and they are new to wine tasting as we are not. The host was awesome. We left with a few little treats to take home. Cant wait to indulge in them soon. I defentally will visit again.

I liked this boutique winery. I didn’t feel rushed during the tasting, and most of what they offered was good. But I did think the woman pouring the wine got a bit annoyed at the tour guide who started to impede on her space. I got the West Chardonnay. it’s a crisp wine with vanilla and citrus notes. I also like the cuvee, but it was more on the drier side for me.

West Wines is a very special place– beautiful wines, beautiful setting and very passionate people. They produce 4 wines — the Viognier was my favorite. Sometimes Viongier can be cloying, but not at West Wines — pure elegance & a joy to drink! After tasting, linger a while enjoying thier wine on the patio overlooking their vineyard(or plan ahead and enjoy your treats from Dry Creek general store here)! This little place brims with all what I love about wine country. Enjoy!
