This may be a hole in the wall small-town kind of bar but they have the best buffalo chicken wings I have ever had. Not your typical buffalo wings, they had so much spicy flavor with just a little bit of a kick and were cooked perfect and very meaty. The couple we were with had garlic pepper wings, they were equally satisfied. After sharing the wings, we decided to split their beef kabobs that were on special that evening. Again, they had so much flavor very delicious and the onion rings were also very good. The staff and the owner are very friendly people. I will definitely be returning when I crave buffalo wings because they’re definitely the best!

This is a live review while here at Greeleaf Café. This is a rustic local restaurant/bar in Hebron, CT. Definatley an eclectic mix of locals from couples to drinking buddies. Lots of TVS for sports watching. We ordered wings, chicken tenders, fish and chips and the NY sirloin. Will let you know how the food is. Wings are very meaty and outside have a good crunch. Mouth has a great tingle after eating almost a dozen. Tenders were tender on inside and crunchy outside. Steak was cooked just right and had good flavor. Came with standard mash potatoes and mixed veggies. Fish was crisp and flaky inside. Overall a really good meal and nice service. Definatley a blue collar hard working persons place, laid back and some free flowing adult language, but don’t let that diswade you from dining here. It’s worth it. Reasonable prices.

Horrible attitude on phone. I simply called to ask about their menu and if they had any craft beer available(they don’t have an official website and I can’t find any more information beyond this page). I asked when they close, and if they have a dinner menu, when I inquired about the beer she told me «you are asking too many questions over the phone, you will have to come in to see our beers». I explained I am thinking about driving over an hour to come to this place, my girlfriend and I are into craft beer, we aren’t driving out to be let down. She said I sounded like a business calling her. Horrible attitude on the phone, very off putting. Unfortunately phone calls like this will probably never lead to me visiting this business. Such a shame.

What a weird little out of the way place. Got dragged here for a friends birthday. There isn’t another drinking establishment around for miles, so the eclectic mix of people here makes quite the scene for people watching. Prices are average but inconsistent depending on which bartender you get, $ 30 for a beer, a mixed drink &4 shots. I had a drunk girl come up to me and ask if I had to use the bathroom, then she pointed, «It’s over there». Like a female version of McLovin telling me what time it was… strange… At any rate, had a good time, take note the kitchen closes at 9:45, and there isn’t much else around to eat.

Came here because the restaurant across the street was packed, read the reviews on the wings and decided to get them. The wings are very meaty and very good. I highly recomend getting them to go. The service at the bar sucked. I was there with 2 other people and there were a bunch of other people at the bar. The problem is they clean of the tables and place everything on the bar right in front of you. I mean seriously? A pile of other peoples dirty glasses right in the way while I’m trying to eat and drink my overpriced beer. We ordered chili cheese fries and they came out as cheese only fries.(they gave them to us free) the cook said he was not putting chili on because the chili that had was not fit to serve.(thankyou!!) I also paid with a $ 50 and got change back for a $ 20, was she trying to scam me? IDK, when I asked she did run right to the register and grab the $ 30 she owed me. My other beef is they kept using my same glass to refill my beer, common now get me a nice cold glass for my $ 6 beer. The band playing was a cover band and they were good, not too loud either. My suggestion is to order your wings to go.

Both of these reviews leave one scratching your head. Kevin asks Taishi why she gives the Greenleaf Café a positive review and then only two stars. But then he gives it one star but admits he has never been there??? This is my first experience with Unilocal but I hope it improves from here. Is anyone familiar with the word INTEGRITY? I can set it straight on Butterballs’ Greenleaf(may he rest in peace). I’ve been performing in bar bands for many years and I’ve spent quite a bit of time in many bars throughout Connecticut but mostly in the central region. The Greenleaf has always been one of my favorites to visit. Always a great crowd of friendly folks, a spacious and clean interior and a great bar. This place has the right atmosphere. Pool tables, big dance floor, good space for the band and a huge parking lot. I have always looked forward to being there and when i am there I feel comfortable. From Hartford it’s a straight shot out Hebron ave off RT2 so it’s pretty easy to get there too. Just a mile or so off Hebron Ave. This is my first post. It struck me as very unfair when I saw the other very low ratings. I’m not sure what’s going on here. I do believe in giving low ratings when they are deserved but these two are way off the mark.

Some may say that the Bidwell Tavern might have the best wings in the area. But in actuality, this best kept secret has some of the best wings around. Slightly less choices than the Tavern, but more plump that even the Kernel(RIP) would fry some for himself. The kitchen closes early and don’t be intimidated by all the Harley’s in the parking lot. Just glide right on in and order some of the best wings on eastern side of the CT river.
