5⁄5! Everyone was friendly, and I really enjoy most of their wines. White stag is my personal favorite.

The wine there wasn;t really all that good. We should have known it wasn’t going to be a great experience when we were walking in and saw a young woman by the front door dry heaving. This place seems to be more about being a bar than a real winery.

I LOVE Hazlitt! Every time I visit Seneca Lake, I always make a point to stop by Hazlitt. They have delicious wine and great bartenders, who joke around and even give you extra tastings if there’s something that strikes your fancy on top of the six you’re already allowed to try. I always pick up a bottle of bramble berry and put it in my brownie mixes for a nice little kick! Delicious. Also, if you’ve been to a few wineries already and are in need of a snack, Hazlitt’s butter popcorn snacks with wine tasting are really good! The price is always right at Hazlitt — when we were there this weekend, we got tokens for $ 5 off, and ended up getting bottles of wine for $ 5 or less!

This winery had a Country bar vibe inside. The tasting staff was young and friendly. Their wine was good and they also had some very good cider. They offered Free popcorn! with the paid tasting. They also took off one of the costs of tasting if you purchased wine.

We have loved Hazlitt for years! Personally I love sweet wines so I an drawn to them for their red cat, brambleberry, cabin fever, and we were thrilled when they started slushies a couple years ago! Great wine, vibes, and place to hang out!

Had a blast with Zach who made our experience there so much fun! I’ve been here several times and will always make it a point to stop here when I’m in the area. Great wines and great atmosphere. Thanks for an awesome time! PA Girls(moms) gone wild

I’ve been to Hazlitt twice now, and it’s never disappointed! It was crowded on my most recent visit, but we still got to begin our tasting right away. The guy pouring wines for us was so friendly and funny, and he joked around with us. I think Hazlitt has the best snacks out of all the wineries on Seneca I’ve been to. The popcorn is so delicious. All of their wines are cat themed, and you might even be able to pet their cat since he stays in the tasting room. :) The only downside was that the only thing they had to offer to offer our DD was diet cranberry juice. Most of the wineries had their own grape juices to drink. Now to get to the wines. Most of Hazlitt’s wines are very sweet. That’s fine for me since I love sweet wines, but people that only drink dry might be disappointed. Their Gruvee, a dry white, was very good, but I didn’t like the Chardonnay at all. It had almost no flavor. Cabin Fever(White Zinfandel) is my favorite, but you really can’t go wrong with any of their sweet wines.

We visited 6 wineries on the east side of the lake and this was at the top. If you like sweeter wines, their 4 pack«sweet deal» is a great choice. The $ 5 tasting fee was discounted from purchases, which was a nice bonus. However the wines are very inexpensive to begin with. The atmosphere was fun and the staff friendly. I’m glad we stopped in!

We did a three day trip to Seneca Lake and stopped by Hazlitt all three days. The Oasis is a fun bar with live music and a food truck on Friday nights. The locals filled the place and they were very friendly.

We had a great visit today. I don’t remember our wine tasting friend’s name but he was quite nice and the popcorn was delightful. I think it was $ 5⁄6 wines and you can apply that $ 5 to your purchase over 750ml I believe it was. You can apply it to wine or cider and the hard cider was delightful. You can use it on the 4-pack because the collective ml are way over 750. Anyways. Idk why this winery had a low star rating. We enjoyed it so much and had some kids with us who were delighted with some grape juice. No other place we had been to offered that. Thanks Hazlitt! We will remember this fondly as we sip our wine and cider back home Ps it was nice coming on a Tueaday because it was quiet and to ourselves!

Such a fun a classy place! No pretentions here at all and the wine is all fantastic. Reasonable prices and the staff are incredibly friendly. It was my favorite of all the wineries in NYS. A must see and stop on your vacation!

Just not for my palet. It does however have one of the nicest set ups of all the winery’s we visited. I bought a bottle of the reisling. I like that they had a separate area with a bar w/beers and wine slushies. The host we had didn’t take well to my thoughts that I didn’t like the one wine I tried. All in all a fun place. No need to go back next year though, unless I need a $ 4 can of beer.

[Chants] Red Cat, Red Cat. It’s an aphrodisiac. Red Cat, Red Cat. It will get you in the sack. [End Chant] With a chant like that you have the impression that this place is going to be over the top incredible and just hands-down a lot of fun. This Vineyard was the worst one we stopped at on our Finger Lakes tour. Our viticulturist was pushy and was clearly off the clock soon. He wasn’t friendly and rude. Trying to crack jokes about not tipping, was not funny or an ironic situation in his case. Unfortunately, Hazlitt did not have a warm welcoming feeling when my party came. All New York Vineyards were new to me this weekend, and everyone was non-spot talking about Hazlitt so apparently, Hazlitt, is a big name and popular but after that one bad experience, I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone. Take a pass on this place, though it’s supposed to have a fun and airy atmosphere I think it’s best to drive by this one and stop somewhere down the road.

I love this place! I would highly recommend it to anyone old enough to drink wine!!! :) The store is very clean and well lite for a winery. I went in August of 2013 and will be returning this summer. I LOVE Hazlitt wine including White Cat and Cabin Fever! I was Super Excited to visit the actual winery, it was a big event, got pictures and everything!

When I visited Seneca Lake, I didn’t know a lot about the wine in the region. I didn’t know what was good, bad, big, or popular. Apparently, Hazlitt is big. And going by the size of the tasting room and the number of people there, they’re popular. I dunno. I didn’t see it. I’m far from a snob that eschews popular things. My favorite meals are from McDonald’s, and I’ll drink Guinness till I die. That said… I don’t get the hype about this place or their wine. Nothing really stood out. The ‘infamous’ Red Cat was cheap, sure, but even for an $ 8 wine it wasn’t very good. We bought a glass here, because the wine tasting fee paid for all but $ 2 of it, but as far as the wine itself? There are plenty of other options on the lake…

Fun experience. They had a NASCAR outside and had a pavilion where they served wine slushies. Wine itself was not that great. They were marketing their red cat wine which is too sweet for my liking! The guy working the tasting was nice but he was trying to hard to make it a cool experience. Fun to visit but I probably won’t go back here. There are so many other places to try!

The vibe in here is laid back and your tasting will be fun. We missed Hazlitt on our trip last year, so we knew we had to stop here. The staff in the tasting room and at the register were friendly. The gentleman doing our tasting bonding with my boyfriend about music and I’m pretty sure we each had about 8 samples each. He recommended wines for my boyfriend and I that we liked. We both enjoyed the 2011 Sauvignon Blanc and purchased bottle of that. Hazlitt also has mini bottles available, which makes for a cute gift for someone or yourself if you are a lush. I purchased a four pack of Red Cat, Cabin Fever, White Cat and Bramble Berry. They were no more than 3 dollars for one I believe. They also had some local cheese and sauces and salsas along with our souvenir items. The décor featured a lot of woodwork and taxidermy. I think when people are happy at work, that works for me. And if they know what they are talking about, even better. This might not be the spot for everyone and that’s okay. There are so many wineries in the region to cater to what your preference is: upscale, laid back, a only dry red winery, and etc. It’s a different experience than some of the other wineries on the trail but it was a welcomed change of pace!

Nice tasting room, serve fresh popcorns for wine tasting. Mostly I liked their easy drinkable red cat series and cabin fever. It’s more sweeter side easy drinkable wines.
