Don’t get me wrong, food was good and the restaurant was clean, but if I’m going to pay $ 50 for a steak I’m going to hold some pretty high expectations. Our waitress did not introduce herself, other employees kept interrupting her as she was taking our order, she mentioned that cream of mushroom was the soup of the day and she brought me sweet potato bisque, no suggestions were made and the food window was in the middle of the restaurant and I could here them yelling out food orders and calling out for runners. We were there to celebrate my boyfriends birthday and the server made it very clear she did not care. My boyfriends dinner salad was finished before I got my soup and our meals came out at separate times. I just really didn’t care for this place along side the outrageous prices. It a $$ restaurant with a $$$$ price.

Had snacks and beers here yesterday. Great place because of the service, hospitality and incredible food. Will make this a favorite place when we are in the area.

Great place that is open late. Good beer and drink selection. The owner was very hospitable and helpful. We will definitely be back.

This was delicious! Great service and good food. I ordered a beef burger and my dad ate bison. Both were cooked to order and juicy! My step mom ordered the salad with salmon. What trumps the food and the service is that they allow dogs on the shaded patio and our server brought them both their own watcher dish and offered refills! We will definitely be back!

For the prices they wanted I would expect high end service. We ordered drinks and left. Wasn’t even worth ordering. I refuse to pay high price for something that isn’t high end. Our waitress looked like she had been on something for quite sometime. With no one there, she wanted to seat us at a tiny table in a corner. Good luck.

Good food with great bar service. Enjoyed the selection and would recommend given the very very few choices for QUALITY food in the tourist trap town of Helen.

Steak was perfectly cooked. Crab cake sandwich a little undercooked/cold in the middle; but flavor was right. Did not enjoy aroma of cleaning solvent sprayed liberally on vacated tables.

We are glad we found this place. We enjoyed a couple of Bison burgers that were outstanding. The pork belly appetizer was off the chain! Very lean and topped with a scrumptious, lightly sweet glaze. The patio was an excellent setting for our leisurely meal. I would definitely recommend this place.

Fried green tomatoes were good. Service was okay… We all ordered hamburgers and most of the came out well done(when we ordered medium) and fries were overly crispy. Can’t imagine ordering a $ 40 steak and it comes out over cooked…

After being kicked out of bigg Daddys deck We came here, sat on theit deck, 11 of us enjoyed a few beers, a great lunch and a good cigar. I had the bison chili and a salad which was very good, others had burgers which were reported as excellent. The Apple Crisp for desert with ice Cream was delicious. Pricing was pretty standard for this type of food. We plan on making this our bike stop when coming to Helen.

Never coming back here again. My table of three ordered grilled cheese sandwiches with mac and cheese for sides. The waiter(Trevor) warned us it could take an hour, which we were willing to wait for. After a what seemed like more than an hour, we asked for an update on our food. Trevor defensively replied that we hadn’t even been waiting a half hour. I looked at my phone and had proof that we had been waiting at least 40 minutes based on text message times, but we knew we were waiting for well more than an hour for our food. Trevor offered to let us see the time slip from the kitchen, and we agreed to see it. Shortly after, he came back without a time slip and said that he cancelled our order because it was going to still take a while and we were already upset. Since we waited an hour and didn’t plan to have our food cancelled, we asked to see the manager, which Trevor responded by saying he was the manager. Assuming that this was not true, we went inside where we asked another waitress to see the manager. After being tossed around from rude person to rude person, we realized that we weren’t getting anywhere. And to top it off, when we were on our way to walk out, the owner insisted that we make sure we pay for our drinks before we leave. First of all, we didn’t even order drinks — and second, wouldn’t you want your customers to be at least satisfied with free drinks? Like I said — never coming back.

Picked this place for dinner after reading some positive reviews. We sat outside and enjoyed some great live music – great atmosphere. Ordered the catfish and chips. It was a large portion, but largely lacked flavor. It’s worth a visit to try for yourself.

Stay Away! This meal was the worst part of our trip. Sadly, they are under new, inexperienced management. 99% of the positive reviews on here are old from the fabulous previous owners. We frequent Helen and know how amazing this place USED to be. Oh and the prices are much higher now and they are no longer serving any high quality, locally sourced meats. I will concede that we visited on a busy night during Oktoberfest, however, we were promptly seated and our server was great. The pimento cheese app and wine was great. But, then it went down hill. The food took a very long time(~1hr) to get to our table and when it did finally arrive all five of our dishes were incorrect. Every. Single. Plate. 1) The first dish was completely forgotten and it took over 45 mins to finally be delivered to that guest in our party 2) The second dish was a pork chop that was cooked within an inch of its life and was missing the ‘stewed apples and caramelized onions’ topping — which when it finally came were mushy raisins. Charcoaled pork + raisins isn’t delicious. 3) The third order was supposed to be a loaded baked potato with a side of grilled chicken. This plate came with one little sad piece of chicken and no potato. Just plain, dry, charcoaled chicken on a plate. When the potato finally came 45 min later it was also plain(not loaded) — actually all of their«loaded» potatoes came only with cheese and bacon — literally a PIECE of bacon stuck in. No butter. No sour cream. 4) Next plate was supposed to be a medium rare filet. It arrived well-done. It was completely charcoal crispy. And again we got a half-way ‘loaded’ potato. Also, the side broccoli for this dish was no where to be seen. Once we finally received the broccoli, it was under cooked and hard as a rock. When we asked for steak to be re-fired the owner literally brought back the SAME steak to our table and argued with us stating that it WAS medium rare, as if we should take it back and eat something we had already sent back to the kitchen. It was too expensive to be incorrect. So, we requested a rare steak. Again, circa 45 minutes on the re-fire and we received a medium temp at best — not rare. This is LIGHTYEARS from the melty delicious steaks we have come to expect from this restaurant. Such a bummer. 5) The fifth entrée was only wrong in the sense it came with a third, un-ordered side. Again, rock solid broccoli. Extra inedible food is a plus, maybe? After all this, while we were offered apologies from our server, they gave absolutely NOTHING in the way of compensation or help with our bill. In fact the manager didn’t even come over. We sought out the management and requested a reasonable 20% off the bill considering all the problems and the over 2 hour, frustrating dinner. They took our bill and only gave us 10% off the total. No dessert, no free after dinner drink — just a meager 10% percent after we begged for it. They’re lucky we didn’t walk out since we watched two other groups walk out. Another couple told us they were regulars and that they’ve seen the place decline. They said it was the worst meal in Helen and they won’t be back. We ate better at Huddle House. We no longer recommend this restaurant.

This is the worst service I’ve experienced in years. Sure, it was Octoberfest, and supposedly they had kitchen staff quit tonight, however that’s no excuse for a salad and chicken fingers to take 2 hours! The ambiance at this place is a okay. On Fridays and Saturdays in peak season sure there might be a wait but this place was just awful. Don’t bother

This place had been consistently good, but this time was a bit different. We came in May and they were not busy and the food was great. This my parents are in town with me and I recommended this place, but they were slightly busy. We notified a waitress that we had a group of seven and she told us it would be a wait of twenty minutes. Twenty minutes later she gave the same answer. It was raining and there was nowhere to sit to wait. We finally secured our own place to sit outside with the live music and we maybe saw our food 45 minutes later, if not more. The waitress was decent but she was not around very often. The only complaints we had with the food were the asparagus was not cooked well and the fries were a bit crispy. I would still recommend this place, but they are not a well-oiled machine. That became evident with the breakdown in service today.

Came here with my honey and her family. Very low-key, bar-type restaurant with some fairly high-priced menu items right smack in the middle of Oktoberfest Capital of Georgia. We started off with some drinks(Paulaner Hefeweizen on draft and Watermelon Martinis). You’ll find typical German style beers in pretty much every place in Helen, so that wasn’t a shocker to have Paulaner. However, the watermelon martini was pretty good, from the sip my honey let me have. I would highly suggest it but believe it was the special item for the day(owner said the watermelon was grown and cut by his wife, so it was fresh). I ordered the Create Your Own Burger, and opted for bison, smoked gouda pimento cheese and blue cheese add-ons. It was delicious and was gone in 60 seconds. The fries that accompanied it were below average to me and no seasoning on them, very disappointing. I didn’t get a chance to taste my honey’s ahi tuna appetizer(which looked really good) but she wasn’t impressed with it and said it was fairly salty. Overall, not a bad experience. Music wasn’t really to my liking(believe it was mostly country) and atmosphere was at a minimum. Can’t go wrong with the Bison burger.

Came here yesterday with my aunt, uncle, and boyfriend for lunch. It’s a small restaurant with a little bar. We were greeted promptly and ushered to a table. No booths here. The waiter was friendly. Started with their special, the watermelon martini. It was just okay, but I did find out I like cucumber with sugar on it. The sugar was on the rim, and the cucumber slice was sitting on the rim. I ordered an ahi tuna appetizer and a baked sweet potato. The ahi tuna was supposed to served with a wasabi lime sauce. So… I dunked the tuna in, and got a mouthful of salt. It tasted like pure soy. I asked for a side of wasabi and they said they didn’t have any. I find that odd how they do a wasabi lime sauce without was Sabe. Anyway the tuna was just okay. The baked sweet potato was really way overbaked. I felt like I was eating baby food, because it was that mushy. My boyfriend did say they made a good burger, and everyone else seemed to like what they ordered. I did snag some fries off my boyfriend’s plate, and they were nothing special. The major fail was no Heinz ketchup. Sorry, I have an affinity for Heinz. Would I come back? Doubt it.

This is my first time at this location so if I ever return I hope to update my review. Granted it was a very busy Saturday right before school starts back etc. As we went inside its kinda dark and its a little confusing as to were the hostess stand is to be seated. Many walk by you with plates of food. Finally a nice man offers to seat us as soon as he cleans a table outside were its not so loud and dark. He never returned… then another nice gentleman asked if we needed a table and I stated another man was supposed to be cleaning a table and he asked me who and we both look in the kitchen and there he was. Oh well they quickly run out to clean a table and seat us on the porch by the downstairs patio with a singer which was nice. Our waitress was quick to arrive and get our drinks. We all ordered quick too and I ordered crab cakes and ahi tuna. My daughter had soup and salad which she cleaned her plate. And my son had the fried chicken with sweet potato and mac and cheese. He enjoyed it all. I had minor issues I guess. I don’t eat red meat so I am limited mostly to fish for my protein. I have the waitress return to tell me they are out of crab cakes. UGH! So I decide no appetizer. Then I ordered my ahi tuna medium. It arrives rare. I send it back and its dry on the outside slices(why slice?) and med well on the inside and I had to literally peel the slices apart. It was like they melted together lol. It was too dry so I didn’t eat much. My collard greens were just okay. They were on the cold side. I didn’t complain I just paid and left. One issue I did not like was my sons entrée shows before his appetizer. Then he is trying to eat his entrée and then they are practically laying plates on top of plates. These are small tables with not a ton of room. I have a feeling our experience would be much better if it was not a crazy busy weekend.

Not much to do on a lazy Sunday. Decided on taking a scenic ride up to HELENGA. What a small quiet little town with lots of character. Looked around saw many places to eat, but on the way to park we discovered Cowboys and Angels. This was a nice little place to eat out on the patio on such a beautiful fall afternoon. Waitress was very accommodating with the most jazziest burgundy red/plum colored hair, I had to compliment her on it. The menu has seafood, sandwiches, soups and a few other items to choose from my favorite was the great wine list that I just had to sample. :) Our orders came out fresh/hot and all was enjoyed. I will definitely come back to this little restaurant in Helen anytime I’m in the area.
