We had wonderful food and service. I had brunch and my husband had a burger. There was nothing left on our plates. Worth the short drive out of Helen.

The food as fantastic and the place itself was incredibly charming. I hate to be this guy, but based on the service I have to give it 4 stars. The chef, and I’m assuming owner, was an absolute delight, but her server left some to be desired.

I loved this place. A tiny place but great food and hospitality. I loved the server and she was so kind and soft spoken. The restroom was so fancy with a heater placed in front of you and a chair. Perfect to remind you of another era. We ordered for coffee, bagel with veggies, burger and grilled sandwich with side dishes of fries. The quantity of each dish is perfect and tastes perfect. I definitely recommend everyone to try out this place. I loved the ambiance too.

Went for breakfast w/​our friends (who btw had never used Unilocal) and had just a yummy meal. The coffee is served in a french press and it’s delicious. I had the homemade waffle, egg over medium and «real» sausage patties (not something out of a box). The others had scrambles, different fixing, all of them agreed the eggs super fresh and the grits were also the best we’ve had in a while. So don’t pass this place up, it’s just outside of town. & the service was great.

Quaint and cozy, and worth the little drive outside of Helen for a warm healthy breakfast, good coffee, and great ownership. We had a veggie omelet with fruit, piping hot coffee, and a taco salad. The food was fresh and flavorful, and the owner was incredibly helpful in helping us decide what to get. We highly recommend this place!

A great little place off the beaten path. My girlfriend and I both had the pimento grilled cheese. Very yummy! The French pressed coffee is also great. I suggest you sit on the back porch overlooking the bamboo.

Quiet cute restaurant that’s right outside of Helen and located right next to waterfall hiking trails.
We ordered a swiss veggie scramble and a veggie Pattie with an over easy egg on top. Both were tasty, although my husband says that the veggie patty is just average. But I don’t think he should be complaining because it was a custom order. I don’t typically have much to say about toast but I loved the toast that came on the side. It was sprouted multi grain with sesame seeds. It was incredible with the sweet and slightly tart apple butter!
We also ordered a 24 oz French press coffee to share. The coffee was rich and dark and perfect for sharing.

Had breakfast here on a recent trip to Helen. Everything was wonderful and fresh! Best omeletes we have had for sure!

Great place for lunch. A little off the beaten path but worth the effort to find. Good food and friendly service. I will come here again when I’m in this area again. I had the beef burger with slaw. It was so juicy I tucked a napkin in my collar then chowed down.

The veggie burger is really good, as is the regular burger. Sweet potato fries are fresh and tasty with the bleu cheese dip, but the portion is small. Skip the grilled cheese. The soup of the day was roasted red bell pepper and potato, which was hearty and tasty, almost like a stew.

Super cute, off the beaten path café. Everyone was super nice and genuinely friendly and the menu was simply yet original. I had the chickpea burger with sweet potato fries. Delicious and unexpected.

My husband and I stopped here for lunch before hiking down to Dukes Creek Falls nearby. We each ordered the Taco Salad (mine was meatless). It was delicious! Fresh romaine pieces topped with tortilla chips, chopped onions and peppers, black olives, cheddar and jack cheese, black beans and corn, with salsa and sour cream. Husband also had beef. We ate every bite. It’s a quiet little place – very quaint and homey. There is some limited seating outside and I saw a sign inside advising there was a dining porch in the back but we just ate in the small front dining room which has four booths and a couple of tables. The service is relatively slow as they seem to prepare your meals as they are ordered and have a very small staff. I think there were only the server and the chef but it was worth the wait. Prices were very reasonable – I believe we paid around $ 8 and $ 9 for our salads. We will most certainly return.

This small mom and pop diner is on a rural highway outside of Helen, away from the crowds. I enjoyed an all beef burger and my wife had a vegan burger. We both enjoyed our meals. Homemade taste. Very good. Every other review is very good b

So glad I found previous reviews on this place & decided it would be the 1^st stop of our road trip to Helen. Nice, relaxed atmosphere with really good food & service. We sat on the back porch enjoying the bamboo all around the back of the building. Was our favorite part of Helen. I had the waffle with strawberries, one fried egg, sausage & toast. My husband had eggs, grits & some sausage. So yummy.

This is such a unique little place! The food is really good! Happy to find a place like this, that has good fresh food, and is reasonable.
Came here to have lunch yesterday, (the veggie burger, and sweet potato chips, plus got a basket of sweet potato fries), and came back today to try their breakfast (I had the veggie omelet, and my husband had the waffle). We will definitely come back here to eat next year, when we are in the neighborhood.

The blue cheese is amazing! Ok on to the actual review. I took my wife, mom, and 6 month old for lunch. We ordered the sweet potato fries with the blue cheese dipping sauce (amazing!), the vegetarian burger, the vegetarian wrap (grilled) and the grilled pimento cheese sandwich.
I am typically a carnivore (seriously ask anyone I eat meat 3 meals a day and sometimes without any sides). The vegetarian burger was out of this world (first one I have ever eaten). The wrap was great and so was the pimento cheese sandwich but the burger was the winner.
Highly recommend going.

Cute family owned vegetarian friendly restaurant located in Helen, Ga. Only restaurant in Helen that actually has multiple vegetarian dishes. They have cute chickens running around outside. An awesome
Bamboo outside sitting area. Fresh smoothies are also an option. They serve breakfast all day and looks delicious. I highly recommend if you are in the area to check them out.

After an overnight campout and sunrise hike to the top of Brasstown Bald, I was hawngry. My initial breakfast choice in Young Harris only took cash, so I meandered down to Helen and was intrigued by the rave reviews of this newcomer — all we’ll deserved.
I chose to sit on the back bamboo patio and ordered a pecan waffle, omelette with veggies and ham, and a French press pot of coffee. Scrumptious and divine. Everything was spot on and hit the flavor notes I needed.
All the good I can write about the food would pale in comparison to how warm and friendly the owners and staff were to me. Make haste to Downda Earth for hearty goodness.
