Believe it or not this place has incredible salads. We went here for lunch and had pizza/​salad. They make their own dressings and the salad was as fresh as I’ve ever had.
We came back at night with friends and the service was lacking a bit (place was packed), but we still had a great time.
If you don’t mind smoke, put this gem near the top of your list when you visit Helen.

If you need some where to drink and smoke in Helen this is the place! The food was pretty good. The one and only waiter on a Sunday afternoon did his best but the service was slow. I would like to say I will return but since I don’t smoke its not likely. But if you can handle the smoke or if you do smoke this is a good place you should try it.

It’s really a great pizza place! The pizza there is phenomenal but nottt a place to go with kids or by yourself! I really love this place but I always take it too the river and eat it at the picnic table and watch the tubbers go bye! Very good pizza other wise noo

This is great place for locals and tourists. As locals we love it here. Families with children can sit outside, color on the sidewalks with colored chalk that is supplied by the restaurant. Food is great. Culinary school trained chef and cooks make the pizza, sandwiches and specials (all with daily freshmade dough) worth stopping by. Pizza is top notch. Try the French Dip, Rueben or any of the homemade soups. Now they have a Bloody Mary bar on Sundays! Servers and bartenders are friendly. Owners couldn’t be nicer or more accommodating.

I thought they were going to issue guns and knives at the door at first. Couldn’t sit inside too smokey luckily it was a nice day so we sat outside. Had pizza and salads and it was pretty good. We won’t go back not our kind of place.

Awesome little dive bar with friendly staff and locals. Great escape from the tourist experience if you want a taste of real Helen. The menu will surprise you, as will the kitchen staff’s attention to execution and turning out really good food. It also offers an unexptectedly diverse beer selection. An astute visitor will realize within seconds of entering that it is indeed a great little smoky dive bar, not at all intended for youngsters. Helen offers plenty of dining options that are family friendly.

This place was terrible. The service was completely terrible. We had pizza which was ok, definitely not the greatest and we waited an hour for it. Do not recommend this place to anyone.

I adore this place. I’ve been several times and order differently each and am never disapointed. The is place, however is not targeted toward family. If your in the mood for some music, drinks, and pizza and have no kids this is the place to go. However kids are welcome outside on the patio dining which is where I would suggest eating anyway. I recommend the Greek salad to start and 2 pizzas, one with cheese only and the other one packed with the goods you like.
Definitely a must visit when in helen!

Never again. Our waitress was beyond terrible. I do to know where to even start. We walked in on the patio area and stood there, no idea if we seat ourselves or are seated. After waiting, we go to walk in the door and the waitress coming they kicks the door and hits me with it, and says «my bad, didn’t see you there» (it’s a glass door). She then sees my family with me and says, you can’t go inside. I ask her where do we go to eat then. She says, just not inside. I then ask, do we sit out here, she says «if you want» I ask where, she says outside… Ok, so we sit down at a random table. After not her forever wait, she comes and takes drink order. I order a beer, and the rest of the family gets tea or coke. We wait another 15 mins and she brings the beer. She then spills the beer on my 2 yr old son and laughs saying opps. She then serves me a half empty beer and walks off. We had 1 napkin in our dispenser. So, the wife goes in the bar to find napkins to clean off my son. She goes to the bar and has to wait 10 mins for napkins. We get him cleaned up and she comes back and doesn’t say anything and we order our pizza. The pizza wasn’t even good when it came. We asked for our check and she took 20 mins to bring the check. I have never been so tempted to walk out on a check in my life!!! I will never ever ever go back here… I will do my best to make sure none of my friends and family ever go here. And I hope you all reading this will never ever even try this terrible place.

Love this place! Great prices and good food (not crazy about baked wings tho). They definitely make you feel like a local! The owner is very cool and makes all feel welcome!

More of a Bar than a restaurant. Smokey inside. Outside is nice. Servers were friendly. Pizza was good. Crust was very light. Was cooked perfect though. Not a bad place.

Stopped in here during a weekend trip to Helen, and this is the best pizza I have had in a long time. My boyfriend and I ordered a 12″ pepperoni and roasted garlic pizza, and the fresh toppings, sauce, and perfectly crisp crust made for an excellent combination. Drinks were cheap, including a cider I had never tried before… and I thought I had tried them all! We ate in the dining area so it was relatively quiet, but we could still experience the atmosphere coming from the band and billiard room that is attached. The only reason this place gets 4 instead of 5 stars is because it seems that the table of locals next to us got much better service than we (strangers) did. Other than that, it was a great experience, and my boyfriend and I have talked about driving up there at least once a month for this amazing pizza, even though it is about an hour from where we live.

Wonderful pizza! We had a 16″ pepperoni an pepperoncini it was like 18 $ and it was delicious! Service was great as well.
FYI this is more pint than pie. While the food is great, this is more of a local dive bar than a pizzeria. And smoking is allowed.

My husband and I ate here my first night in Helen and were pleasantly surprised. Honestly, I chose the place because of the name. What could be better than a pizza and beer? They had fairly good beer choices, but their pizza was the star of the night. We have very different pizza topping choices so we ordered 2 pizzas and hoped we liked it enough to have leftovers for lunch the next day. We ended up liking it so much that our leftovers were pretty slim. GREAT pizza!
I didn’t give 5 starts because it’s a very small place with only about 5 tables and the bar is in the same room as the dining area so there’s a lot of smoking going on right next to you. Not a place to bring kids at night, but great pizza.

I drove to Helen because I was told it was a cool place. By cool I mean a random little German-​looking village in the middle of Georgia. (Picture German-​style architecture with a rebel flag hanging off the roof). The traffic was so bad that I had to pull off somewhere and I pulled into here. It was a small bar, but had a nice outside seating area. It looked like a cool place to hang with friends and play some pool, but I was by myself so I just sat outside and enjoyed a beer, which was equally as nice. The pizza was ok and the prices were relatively cheap.

So, I was in Helen on a hiking trip for about 3 days. I stumbled upon Pies and Pints by accident because everything else in Helen seemed to be closed except for the huddle house which I didnt want for dinner. When I first walked in I said to myself, «a local bar» as I saw the pool tables in the distance and darts. I sat near the bar and though a bit smoky (cigarettes) for my taste I dealt with it because the service was good, the locals were fun, the Pizza was AWESOME and the pricing on the food and beer was a def plus! I’d recommend to any group that likes a nice cold beer and a great pizza and doesn’t mind a little smoke in the air. Not good for children.
