Bad Betty’s BBQ

I had them cater an event for my board of directors, all farmers and ranchers and meat connoisseurs. They LOVED the brisket. When Folks from Eastern Montana rave it’s really a high commendation. I would definitely recommend their food and catering.

So not impressed. The food was mediocre at best and overpriced for what you get, but the owner is the real problem. At a recent charity event where he was serving food at a local brewery he acted so unprofessionally and rude that I will never patronize his business again. Did I mention it was at a charity event?

I had been craving good barbecue for a long time and this hit the spot! I ordered the brisket platter which was an open faced sandwich that included beans and slaw. The brisket is tender and juicy with a perfect amount of smoke. The rub and sauce is a nice touch but not too much to take away from the brisket. The slaw is very good with a bit of pepper to just give a slight burn but not enough to overpower the slaw. The beans have a sweet and spicy kick to it. The perfect amount of heat that won’t hurt later. This is smoked barbecue at its best! Outside of Texas and Cashmere Washington I’ve found my favorite barbecue place!
I’m here in town 2 months after my initial review for a class and Bad Betty’s catered our lunch. Still amazing food! If you’re looking for barbecue to be catered please consider Bad Betty’s as you won’t be disappointed!

What a hidden gem this place is! They are currently under construction so there is no place to sit. (We were visiting Helena for a job interview so we brought our Bad Betty’s to McDonald’s and ate there.)
Amazing pulled pork sandwiches, delicious slaw, and the jalapeño cornbread is so good with a great kick. The best part was when a little slaw was mixed with some cornbread crumbs and some bbq sauce on the bottom of my take-​out container.
If I end up taking this job in Helena, I will DEFINITELY be back. Really very good bbq…

Bad Betty’s Is where I go to get my barbecue fix. Their brisket and ribs are especially amazing!

Not the best BBQ I’ve ever had, but it’s solid. I was tempted to drop them down to a «3» because they were out of slaw, which was a huge disappointment, but I refrained and rated them a «4». It happens and I’m just going to assume this was a one time issue. When a restaurant has such few items on a menu they shouldn’t be out of anything at the start of the day.

I’ve now had Bad Betty’s 3 times… and…It just gets better and better! Find them on Facebook and go find the truck for one of the best lunches in town and by far the best BBQ in Helena. I have tried all of the others in town and while some were «okay» … they just were not worth the time or the money for a repeat visit. Calvin and Crew know BBQ!

Fantastic! I’ve enjoyed BBQ from rib shacks and smoke houses across the south and Bad Betty’s ranks with the best of them. We had the rack of ribs tonight and the dry rub they use really brings out the smokey flavor of the meat. I prefer them «dry», but adding their sauce is excellent as well (for a little variety). Don’t forget to order the beans, slaw, and jalapeño cornbread sides! The put just as much effort into the compliments as they do their meat. It’s the real full meal deal!

The best BBQ in Helena hands down. Try the brisket, you won’t be disappointed. Thumbs up for the coleslaw too!
