Scottish eggs, fish and chips, Smithwicks and Tennant on tap! What more do I need to say!

Delightful pub serving ‘traditional” style British favorites. Baked cod was spot on. Decent selection of beers on draft and bottled. Prompt polite service. Plentiful parking in back.

I went with my sister and a couple of friends for a trivia night. SOOOFUN! The bad thing is that people cheat and use their phones, not cool it anyway the waitresses are funny and super nice, the food is DELICIOUS! They have wifi(don’t be afraid and ask for the code) they have TVs, a cute barman(lol). Honestly it is a good place to hang out with your friends. LOVEIT!

One of the worst restaurant experiences ever. I won’t even give this place another chance. It’s rare I ever feel this way when leaving an establishment but I just have to put it all out on the table. Okay. Here we go. The atmosphere was fantastic! I felt as though I was back in Scotland, sitting by the bar about to have a great time. Now, I travel for work. I mean, all over the place. I eat out 3 times a day, and never have I been treated like such shit. The server, Alex, was just fake — ‘I hate my job, and I hate you’ was plastered all over her face and her attitude was something I just haven’t experienced before. I am a regular at some pretty snotty restaurants in the city and the surrounding areas and none of those servers compare to her. I thought, maybe she’s just having a bad day. But then, I heard a pleasant — yet obviously fake — attitude and demeanor toward guests at another table. Was it just me? Did i smell? I think not. I’m rather good looking, articulate, and have the highest of standards for restaurant etiquette. Even if the food was fantastic, I still wouldn’t go back, just because of her. I asked about specials and her response was, ‘no. I’ll give you time,’ as she attempted to scurry off without giving me the time of day. I said, ‘hold up.’ Anything special on tap?’ She recommended some obscure Scottish Ale — definitely an appropriate response. I had no idea what it was and she didn’t explain. Whatever, that’s fine. Faster and faster her demeanor changed from ‘impatient and hurry up, idiot’ to ‘this guy’s an asshole, and I’m going to treat him like shit the rest of his visit with us.’ I asked if there was any notable Belgian beers. She says, ‘yea, we have Blue Moon.’ I quickly corrected her. Once again, she attempts to scurry off. I said, hold on, asked for a water and she was off running… well, not really. She definitely made it a point to walk as slow as she could, maybe to highlight the fact that she was wearing yoga pants… After talking to two other servers and then obviously bringing the bartender close and telling him how terrible I was, she comes back and says, ‘is all your going to have is water?’ Surprised at such a rude response I said, ‘no.’ And she was off. Now, I times it. 9minutes later and she’s back with another rude stare and comment. I’ll just end this short and sweet. This place is terrible but the local clientele knows nothing better in this bum-f*ck town.

I am a fool for pubs. Had the Scottish eggs and then the bangers and potato’s. Food was excellent. good selection of beers on tap as well as whisky’s. I found the staff to be friendly and attentive. Overall I found it to be average, nothing else to report.

Good food… Will return to try more meals on this menu. Would have given 5 stars, but tables were uncomfortable to sit at. Legs actually didn’t fit under the table, almost as though the chairs were to big for the table.

Finally decided to try this place on a Friday afternoon, after previously driving past it on my way home. I ordered the Haggis appetizer, guinness beef stew and finished off with the tiramisu. I also had the Youngs chocolate stout, 2 in fact. My wife had the potato leek soup and a steak flatbread and an apple martini. Bottom line: food was EXCELLENT, atmosphere was great,(although it was quiet when we went), and the price was right. Steve, our waiter, was very friendly and made us feel right at home. I never had haggis before so I googled it before I ordered it. Sounded like something I wouldn’t normally eat, but was willing to try it. Glad I did. The stew was delicious and glad I have some leftovers. Give this place a shot. Parking around back

We stopped in on our way to Bethlehem. The BEST soup of the day my husband has had in a long time. It was ancho turkey with roasted corn. He wanted to buy the pot! I had the spinach salad and we had their fresh made chips the dips. Both were amazing. A great place that if we are in the area again we will no doubt stop in.

Stopped for lunch on a Friday. The menu was great. I had Birdies(roast beef in a puff pastry with fries and peas) and my wife had fish and chips. We were both extremely happy with our choices. The place had a good beer selection as well.

We stopped here on our way to the Poconos via Hellertown and were very pleasantly surprised. Extremely friendly service, maybe a bit too friendly but better than grumpy! I didn’t actually realize it was a Scottish Pub vs an Irish Pub until I worked through the menu. Very impressed that they serve Scottish Eggs, not easy to make but very delicious. I prefer them for breakfast so I went with the Bangers & Mash since we were having lunch. Very tasty, good gravy, good mash, fresh peas, was a well balanced meal. We also had the chips with three dips and that too was really good. The chips held well even after we took them in a doggy bag and ate them the next day. Not soggy at all. Was impressed that they offered extra dips to take home with the leftover chips. Great selection of beers, Scottish beers too. If I was local to Hellertown I’d probably throw this into my normal rotation.

The chicken fingers and fries were TODIEFOR. I have been here many many times and I only order the chicken fingers and fries because of how amazing they are. I never leave without a box for the few I have left and a nice serving of fries always hits the spot.

I go hear a couple of times a year, best staff in the biz, consistent quality food from the kitchen, clean bathrooms and well lit parking lot. About as good a you can operate this style of restaurant.

I was craving a real pub burger, and that’s exactly what I got! Tasty and affordable, we had a lovely meal in a nice environment. My husband got the fried fish sandwich, and it was a big hit. We will definitely return.

Amaaazzzing food! I had the Braveheart Chicken Oscar. It was honestly one of the best meals I’ve ever had. The homemade chips with the cheese dip are also delicious. I don’t eat hummus but their Toasted Almond Hummus with Figs was very good. Service was good, gets crowded in there but for good reason! Will definitely be going back!

I really love and can hate this restaurant LOL! Its been hit or miss for us at times. I LOVED their Risotto and they took it off the menu. I mean as much as I loved that dish though even that would sometimes be terrible in that the rice was way over cooked and it was a pile of mush. We have even been there several times with a party of 7 and sometimes dishes are good, other times stuff is cold, or over cooked. Maybe it is dependent on when the head chef is there or not? I know the mushy risotto was on a Saturday afternoon and I swore it was leftover rice from day before?! Another main issue I have is service! I have had some of the worst waitress’s and a couple of the best! One time I was dying of thirst and our dumb waitress sat up at the bar talking with the bartender and another girl never looking over at us. I guess she was not bright enough to realize we could see her shooting the breeze. I would have left a 50¢ tip on a party of 7 bill, but my husband wouldnt let me! I had to go get the water myself. Another issue I have is they are not bashful in what they charge for a drink, but my god $ 7 for 2 gulps of mid to low quality wine is awful. Their bar needs to either lessen prices or give you a proper portion for the $$! I feel ripped off every single time i order a drink, so i make sure to keep that to a minimum! It really is a great atmosphere too, they have tall tables and chairs which are fun. I have been in there when they were setting up for a game night I think, and I believe they participate in Pub Crawls, so its a fun place. If they bring back the Risotto(which the waitress last told me alot of people were mad it disappeared) and start hiring girls they have the ability to multi task, and be fair at the bar with wine especially I would easily give Braveheart 5 stars! Oh and get there on the early side or risk not getting a parking spot LOL!

Local pub, nice atmosphere. Most of the conversation I heard was local. Good parking, although if they had a busy night, It would be tough. As some reviews have stated, the staff is friendly and the food service was fast on a very un-busy night. The food was cooked to order and nice and hot. It’s Scottish pub fare with the American styling. I had the Highland Burger and it was pretty good(althoguh I was severely tempted by the fish and chips). Will come again the next time I’m in town.

I visit a few times every March. Now that its coming round again im wondering why I don’t go here more often. Good bridies and taties, shepards pie, and bangers and mash. Most of the later crowd are just pub — bar drinkers.

I’ve been here several times since I work in the area. It’s your typical bar/pub, with stools, high tables and a seated area. The décor as you would suspect is Scottish including a poster of the movie Braveheart on one of the walls. I’ve yet to eat a meal here but I’ve tried all the appetizers and their red house wine. All of which are delicious. The staff is very friendly and welcoming. They are quick to serve, see if you need anything else and refill your drink. Pricing is average. If you are local it’s well worth checking it out!

Visited Braveheart for an early dinner and my husband and I were pleasantly surprised. I opted for traditional bar fare, an open faced Ruben. Yummy, corned beef had good flavor and wasn’t drowned in dressing. My husband had the baked cod. This was a little more daring because the fish had to be fresh to be tasty. And it was. Cooked perfectly and served with perfectly cooked green beans. Nice that a pub can do more than just sandwiches. And as an added bonus, REAL French fries. Not batter-dipped or overly seasoned. The service was just as good as the food. We will be back.

I have avoided this place for years — when we lived in Hellertown, no one seemed to have good things to say about it. I’m not sure if they’ve improved significantly, or if people just gave them a black eye in the past, but I was definitely impressed with our visit. We had a Friday night dinner during Restaurant Week. $ 15pp for lunch, including soup or salad, entrée and dessert(sticky pudding). To put it in perspective, the entrée I had, the shepherd’s pie, normally was $ 15. So definitely a good time to try it from a financial aspect. The mixed salad was well balanced — the blue cheese dressing appeared to be made in house. Full of blue cheese chunks and very good. The potato & leek soup was also good — very smooth & creamy, so don’t go for it if you like a chunky soup. Entrees were as expected. Scottish food always appears to be a mix of meat, potatoes & peas, and that’s what we had. Shepherds pie = meat(with carrots & peas), topped with potatoes. Bangers with potatoes & peas. I grew up on meat & potatoes, so it was a nice reminder of home. The sticky pudding was different than most bread puddings I’ve had in the past. But the dates were nice, and it wasn’t so heavy that I felt like I couldn’t move afterwards. Bar makes a nice martini and there is a great list of beer(bottle & draft) and whisky. Our server was great — she kept up with a busy room but we never felt rushed or ignored. The environment is comfortable. I’ll be back for a drink, and to try some of the more traditional bar food.
