Only giving one star for atmosphere. They have cool stuff cowboys would like hanging from the ceiling. The stage Is nice but they didn’t sound check at first tonight so the first 30 minutes I couldn’t hear people next to me at the table. Food is mediocre, service is slow, slow, so slow and the lady that took our order was new and not being trained/watched over. She had a hard time hearing me over the noise. Also our number for the food was never displayed for us. So I walked up with my ticket and the warmer was full of food and our order was sitting on the counter by the register getting cold :/ I also didn’t like the cop standing next to the bar the whole time watching everyone. I just don’t understand how there can be so many police officers In texas. They had one greeting people at the damn wal mart lastnight. Maybe it’s because I’m a city boy but damn. Every corner you turn there’s 12. Even here, right next to the bar, eyeing everyone.

As always, a great time at John T. Floores. No drama, no B.S. Just a great crowd, great sound, Texas food and music. And, yes, Über will take you home.

One of those places you have to visit if you love Texas, good music, cold beer, outdoors, big live oak trees. The big favorite Texas names play here. Parking is tough but it’s all worth it.

Great music! Randy Rogers is awesome. Can’t beat the $ 25 ticket, But!!! 4700 folks enjoying a sold out event with two bathrooms and a few(overflowing) portable latrines is just gross. Folks have probably been drinking before they arrive, drinking while at the venue, so eventually human needs take over so spending 45 minutes to find a full portable toilet is just too much. From the description my wife provided I’m glad I’m a guy. Yuck!

Lost its charm. I would suggest waiting until the artist plays at cowboys dancehall and see them there. Cowboys offers short drink lines, real restrooms, room to dance, and bar stools/tables…without paying $ 100s for«VIP»…lol, what a joke.

I have been to several county venues and by far this one was my favorite. The space is open and the people are amazing and friendly! Customer service is a 5⁄5 stars. My fiancé and I are non smokers and the fact that this venue is non smoking was awesome. I will definitely keep up with concerts going on there. I ordered the pulled pork sandwich and omg it was amazing(coming from a Texas girl that doesn’t like BBQ) they have definitely convinced me that BBQ is awesome.

Someone do something about that dance floor. It was so wet and humid we could not do any boot scooting at all. I think it’s in bad need of some sawdust.

The Floore Country Store is a staple in country music and more specifically Texas country music. For this reason I so badly want to love this venue, but unfortuately I cannot say I do full heartedly. We’ve travelled from Dallas for three concerts in the last six months(two outside and one inside). For our first experience we knew we wanted to be close to the stage, so we arrived extra early to eat after hearing about the food is pretty good. Unfortunately, we were told that you cant even go in to eat on a concert day until the concert doors open despite an 11am start time. I really wish this little tid bit of information was clearly stated somewhere, but it is not… I looked. We sucked it up and got our spots one person back from the stage. This trip I noticed a great selection of beverages and several opportunities to purchase some. For the second concert we ended up arriving early to get in line and then went immediately inside to eat. Food is very good(BBQ and tamales) and decently priced as well. After eating we were able to get a decent spot about fifteen yards back from the stage. The sound for outside shows is pretty amazing. For both concerts we were packed in pretty tightly so it is hard to come and go. For the inside concert we arrived early to get a table. I will say that this venue is well staffed. Bathrooms are okay for the ladies and the unfortunate trough style for the guys is visible from the ladies line. When people start to stand in front of the stage it’s not easy to see from sitting at the tables on the sides. This is due to the stage maybe being a foot off the ground and the barrier in front touching it. We got right up to the barrier so that we could see(and get a set list after) which meant our favorite artist was literally on top of us at times. Pretty amazing, but the sound inside is only really good if you are 5+ feet from the stage. Overall, the history of this venue is what makes it what it is.

This Texas classic is a great place to catch some live music, especially country. Four stars out of five since I think they could improve the parking situation and offer more food options during shows.

Always a great venue for classic country music. Texas country artists come all the time and always put on a great show. The VIP area and back bar additions are really an upgrade!

Came out to watch Hal Ketchum Friday night and had a wonderful time. Bartenders were friendly and quick. Plan on going out there more often.

Floores just alienated their main demographic by removing all outdoor searing for concerts. What type of idiot would do that. We will never be back and will tell all that we know not as well. Poor decision Floores management.

My favorite country venue in the city of San Antonio! I have been for multiple concerts including Robert Earl Keen. The sound was awesome and the stage was easy to see from various locations. I have also seen Cody Johnson here but it was only the inside venue. It was a bit cramped and got hot but I would go back for another one. The prices are always reasonable for pretty big names and the selection of beer is pretty awesome. This last time they sold out of shiner but they also had Robert Earl Keen’s beer so I was content. The downfall is the line for the lady’s room. I am used to this by now for most concerts but it does cause confusion with the beer lines. Overall I still love this place!

I thought I knew what to expect from Floore’s after scouring the Unilocal page, but it definitely surprised me… in a good way. I convinced my husband to go see Kacey Musgraves with me(who was fantastic), and I thought ticket prices were very reasonable for general admission(around $ 25). We weren’t too caught up with getting to the front of the venue to be up close, but we could have with no problem. The venue itself is in the Helotes farmer’s market area, which is a cute little place that definitely makes you feel like you’re in Texas. It was an outdoor venue, but the weather that night was perfect. Nice and cool, which is rare for San Antonio, and just beautiful. The beers weren’t cheap of course. There’s just something about forking over $ 5 for a Lone Star that makes me feel sad. But whatever, I’m in it for the experience. And yes, parking was a little crazy, since there isn’t that much parking to begin with, but we found a spot within a 3 minute walk. Not bad. I told my husband that this was the most«Texas» event and place we’ve been to since moving to San Antonio. Filled to the brim with men in cowboy hats and women in boots. We loved it, and I’m looking forward to more good olé’ country fun at Floore’s.

Had the opportunity to check out Floore’s Country Store recently when we were in Old Town Helotes for a Christmas parade. We got some delicious BBQ sandwiches. They were amazing! Since we had our kiddos, we opted to sit outside and let them run around and enjoy the space since no one else was outside. I was extremely impressed with the food, the atmosphere, and how spacious it was. I was a tad bit disappointed with their alcohol selection, but everything else was great!

About ¼ step below Gruene Hall on the«So TEXAS it hurts» scale.. good times! The last time I was at Floore’s was for a Willie Nelson show in the early 90’s. I didn’t appreciate it *at all*. At that point«so TEXAS it hurts» was basically the antithesis of cool in my book — I was looking for a much more New York City«so CBGB it — literally — hurts» vibe, and there was no way Country & Western charm out in BFE was gonna cut it. Now though.. the ceiling lined with hanging cowboy boots and hats!(Did Willie actually wear any of those, left behind in a cloudy tour bus ruckus??)… the 1950’s Hank Williams Sr poster on the wall(Did Hank actually grace the stage at Floore’s??)…I can picture the epic history of the place, and it’s now the *epitome* of C&W honky tonk charm.. love it!

I could see how this place is a fun music venue for college & high school kids. We went for the Casey Donahew show and he’s a younger guy, local, cutie patootie… clearly drawing in a younger crowd. My husband and I enjoyed ourselves though. The night we went: 1. parking is $ 10 unless you park along Old Bandera; I suggest driving your truck. 2. beer is $ 5+; cans only so bring a koozie but they sell those for $ 5 3. the stage is very low so sitting at the picnic tables will only be beneficial for the opening act — when more people arrive, you need to move to a standing area if you want to see the performance 4. PLENTY of port-o-potties 5. TONS of smokers; gag/cough 6. food stops at 10pm 7. the covered patio tables(4 top) FORTHISSHOW were $ 150! WHAT?! You get a waitress, unlimited chips/salsa, 1 round tamales, and water. Alcohol is extra & you still have to buy your GA ticket. 8. there were a ton of awkward families since minors are allowed but need a parent. 9. you can sit inside to avoid being eaten alive by mosquitoes but that might be awkward when you’re the only people in there 10. bring bug spray, lol Doors opened at 7; we got there at 8(per suggestion of a few friends) and it was dead. Closer to 9(when the opening act went on) it started to buzz and by 10:30 the standing section was packed. You could still two-step for the opener. Again, this is all based off the show we recently saw — I’m sure it varies depending who the performer is.

YEHAW! Up here in «honkyville» as Ang F. calls it, we know how to hoe down. HO? HOE? I don’t get it. And yet, I have spent some time in a trailer… Floores is the place to be for concerts — check the web. I have, personally, never attended a concert here, but it is on my bucket list — right above a night at the Roxy. The fam and I usually hit Floores on a Saturday afternoon for lunch, and sometimes a beer. I get the chicken fried chicken(isn’t that always weird?) salad with their ranch, which is awesomesauce(literally). The hubs gets the smoked turkey sandwich and fried okra. The turkey rocks, and though the okra is tasty, from time to time I’ve found myself chewing on something«hard,» like a stick? No clue, but it’s like finding a chicken or fish bone… once I get one, I’m done with it. The ambiance is very casual, albeit pleasant and open air. We usually take up residence out back on a picnic table because the kids can roam free around the stage area. All in all, it’s a great experience. They once gave my card to another patron, and I had to cancel it because the person never returned it — but they were very apologetic and offered to pay for our meal. I refused because I want local joints like this to last. TIP: SUPPORTLOCALFOOLS!

Floore’s Country Store deserves a 5-star rating based on its musical pedigree alone. This Texas treasure ranks right up there with Gruene Hall as one of the classic music venues ’round these parts. Floore’s draws some of the best acts in country and Americana music. The décor is pure down-home Texas, and the food is pretty good. But let’s look at the realities of seeing a show at Floore’s: 1. Parking is horrible. I’ve been there twice to see acts playing on the indoor stage, and I’ve had to park a quarter-mile down the road each time. I can’t imagine what it must be like when Willie plays the main stage. 2. The physical space is awkward. There is a terrible bottleneck at the entrance, the bar lines are chaotic, and the restrooms are a joke. 3. The indoor stage is too low, making it difficult to see the performers when everyone is standing or dancing. Of course, it would be impossible to raise the stage because the ceiling is so low. 4. The acoustics are terrible. I don’t know whether it’s all the hard surfaces in the room or just a really bad job on the mixing board, but everything sounds muddy in this place. I don’t understand the policy on reserving a table at Floore’s. For a recent Friday evening show, I sent an email about a month in advance requesting a reserved table for four. I received a reply saying that I could have my table, but we needed to be there no later than 7:30(for a 9:00 show); otherwise, our table would be given away. We arrived at 7:15 to an empty establishment. We ate and talked for a full hour before anyone else came in to claim their reserved tables. Perhaps these people were already in the know, but I’m mystified why we were told to be there so early. So for all the negative things I’ve said here about Floore’s, you may be wondering why I’m giving it such a high rating. 4 stars means«I’m a fan.» I guess I can say that about Floore’s, despite its myriad shortcomings. It is indeed a great Texas venue, full of charm and history. But it’s a flawed gem.
