I would not make my worst enemy go to this bar. The bouncers and«security» are aggressive and outright abusive. The ages seem to range from 16 to 20. They don’t accept cards at the bar for their overpriced drinks. They charge $ 10 to get in for guys just to stand in a one room bar with a terrible dj and a 4:1 male to female ratio. Warning: stay away from this place

The crowd is ok here. Usally whoever can’t get into mchebes come here. It’s the same owner for the place except this place is 18+ and the other is 19+.

I wish I could give negative stars. what a terrible place! my 2 friends and I got all ready and got dropped off there. they false advertise all over the place! they have on their instagram«doors open at 10» well it was 10:10 when we got there and they said they weren’t open yet and we waited out in the cold for another 10 minutes. finally they were going to check our ids and let us in. I went first and got in no problem. then my friend showed her id and the guy asked for her college id. we are all 18 and it advertises ALLOVER their instagram«18+» and«18andover». he didn’t let her in and I asked why I was allowed in and this idiot says«you’re 19 aren’t you?». so we had to leave and us 3 young girls were left stranded on hempstead turnpike in a terrible area and were being hit on by multiple way way older men. I saw the guy who didn’t let us in at some deli a few doors down and called him out on the false advertising. he just gave me a BIGSHRUG and rushed out. terrible business, such a joke, this place should’ve been shut down already

Apparently they didn’t let in my 34 year old friend in because it is a «college bar.» How this place is still in business is beyond me. I guess 14 year old drinking is better for this place’s trashy image.

I went there for halloween. It was ok. Too packed. So tight. I didnt drink though. Girls looked like sluts. I wouldnt recommend it. The only fun thing I did was make out with my ex all night

It is what it is, a college bar on the Hofstra strip. Expect cheap drinks, fun girls, and a local DJ spinning mostly house/top 40 tracks. Good place to go early in the night before going out to a more refined establishment(Bridgeview anyone?) or maybe just stop in for whatever special is going on that night(penny beer Wednesdays, ect) Dress code is relatively relaxed and casual compared to aura or Spa/Zachary’s down the road.

I wouldn’t even give this a star. Drinks are cheap but that is because they are expired, immensely watered-down, and low-end brands. Plus serving an underage group. Was uncomfortable every minute there. Sweaty, sloppy, trashy, dirty.

I almost laughed out loud as I thought of Dizzy’s and what I should rate them as. I can’t even lie and pretend like I didn’t love it all the years I was at Hofstra. It opened Spring semester of my freshman year and was a staple for the next 3.5 years. But I will give you two scenarios that will help to better describe my three stars: Happy Hour: Happy Hour was the pinnacle of the week. Filled with 98% Hofstra students, it was the time of week that everyone you knew(friends, ex’s, random people from class, crushes) came together to get wasted. Granted, they let in underagers, but the real underagers(the high school kids) didn’t come till after it was over, so it was mostly sophomore through senior college students. Happy Hour started at 4 pm and went until we felt like leaving. The music was fantastic, the DJ would swear at you and the drinks were strong and cheap. It was a staple as a Hofstra student and I honestly think my social life would have been far different without it. Saturday Night: Saturday night was a whole different ballgame, during both the school year and summer. You may as well just have gone to the local high school dance(where they were selling alcohol). Sweaty, dirty, skanky high schoolers(and freshmen and sophomores in college) would grind on each other till all hours of the night, spill their drinks on you and just make you all around want to punch someone. Saturday night(or Friday after about 11 pm) is not a night you want to be near Dizzy’s. And there you have it: the good and the bad. Would I go back to Happy Hour now? No, I wouldn’t. First of all, my liver can no longer handle Long Island Iced Teas and second of all, I’m not in college. It’s a college bar. You graduate the bar when you graduate college and once in a while you look back and remember all the great times you had. That is all.

This place is like a really bad joke. You will not find any decent people here… I REPEAT… you will not find any decent people here! The place is just a crowded, low class, college bar. That’s about it. Their isn’t really much else to say… the bass of the music is set way too high and the outdoor area is like walking into a cloud of cigarette smoke. Go here if u want underage girls.

while i can’t deny that i’ve had fun here on occasion during my younger hofstra years, the fact remains that this bar is god awful. it’s just a dark, sweaty, smelly one-room deal with a fenced-in instant lung cancer area out back. once home to happy hour, but since the opening of nacho’s and the REopening of mchebe’s next door, its clientele is mainly freshmen looking to vomit. yuck. but born of convenience. thanks for the memories, diz. kinda.

My first and last time that I will be going there. This is def. a place for the young and«underage, pre-teen» drinking crowd. If the drinks weren’t so cheap, i would have gave it a one star. It sucks that they service ppl that are not of age because it ruins the atmosphere of the party sometimes. They need to go to chuck-e cheese’s instead. I ruined a good outfit cuz a lil 14-yr old in some shorts couldn’t hold their liquor. I’ll stick to my lounges and clubs downtown.

Ehh i hate Long Island clubs. I went to school out there and needed a place to party. and party i tired but places like this killed it. Yes when i was 19 i loved going to places and not getting carded, but theres gotta be a limit, 14 year olds getting wasted and gross is not my idea of fun. The music sucked, and the place was packed with pre teens. once again Ehh this place should be burned down

The crowd here is typically youngsters(teens/20’s) even though it is a bar with service to «alcoholic beverages.» I wonder why… hmmmMMMmm… THISIS A 19+ TOPARTYPLACE! On another note during a good weekend night the dance floor is pretty packed with underage drinkers making it unbearably HARD to get anywhere. However, if you are closterfobic there is a tent«thing» connected to the back of the bar which is a safe place to «get away» from the action for a little while. Good for the younger crowd, definitely not good for older people –__–
