Epic boudin!!! I ordered it with the delicious potato salad. It was very good and the service was great! The atmosphere was cozy and relaxing. You order at the counter and pay and get your good and seat yourself. We will be going back here. The BBQ was great and I cannot stop thinking about the boudin!!! I am addicted!

Made a quick decision to try Bob’s BBQ out and it is and what BBQ is about. No fancy menu here, just some of the best Q I have eaten. Bob was right there behind the counter. Super nice guy with a great staff. We had the chopped beef sandwich. Perfectly prepared, brisket is chopped to order and sauced on the bun. If you know Q, you know this keeps the smoke more concentrated in the meat. We had the turkey sandwich which is sliced deli thin and has just a touch of smoke. It was very good. We had the sausage sandwich was superb. The sausage was super tender and very smokey. Went ahead and tried the mild boudin and another hit. The skin was crispy and the rice mixture was delicious, so delicious in fact that my 7 year old stole it and ate it all. Let me not forget the pecan cobbler, different but good. Last but not least the sauce is very good. It is tomato based with a nice tang and sweetness that compliment each other perfectly. If you are passing thru the area do yourself a favor and stop by and Get some great BBQ.

Yum! Stopped by on a road trip and left very happy. Good, tender and lean brisket. Also highly recommend the peach cobbler. Delicious! They were super friendly also. Can’t go wrong here. :)

I had very high hopes for this place after it made the Texas Monthly Top 50BBQ joints list. It was not good though. I almost cried when they put my box of smoked meat in the microwave. Microwaved BBQ is just not good. If they ditched the whole microwave thing it might be a different story.

Be careful… if you are an actual BBQ snob, you need to be prepared before you go into Bobs. Bob is good at catering to the local crowd who may not know what good BBQ is… meaning, they will sauce your brisket and throw it in a microwave to warm it if you are not up front about ordering correctly. He does serve true«Fatty» or moist brisket, and it is absolutely delicious, but they will kill it if you don’t warn them that you know how you like it. I was given this tip before going, and I have to admit, this place was just as good as Franklin’s in Austin… without the 4 hour wait. Great beef, the right amount of elasticity, meant a great meal.

:( I made a trip from Dallas and when I arrived I thought to myself«Small town? Check. Smoke bellowing out? Check. Wood out in the back? Check. Friendly locals inside ordering and serving? Check» I was excited when I got to the table, but I’ll admit I was a tiny bit thrown off guard at the counter while placing my order. The meats were sitting there under glass on display. Nothing really keeping them warm and moist. I promptly forgave that and reserved my judgement after I dug in. I ordered 3 meat place of course with ribs, sliced brisket, and hot sausage. The sausage had no noticeable spice or kick. so I’m wondering if I got the mild by mistake? Sadly, this was the best of the 3. It was moist, but much too bland for my personal tastes. The brisket was tender, but lacked moisture. I even ordered the fatty side and it still wasn’t juicy like I had hoped. The man who cut it for me, while very nice to me, served me almost no bark. Was it sliced that way on purpose? Or is that just the way their brisket is? I’ll never know I guess. Again, almost no real flavor. Not a lot of flavor and the little it did have was a bit off. I couldn’t quite put my finger on it. The ribs is what drove it home. These were bad… like really bad. It has to be the wood. The ribs were actually bitter tasting to me. I couldn’t believe this place was on the Top 50 list. Seriously?! Wow, clearly something has changed since those experiences which put them on the list. Was there anything good? Beans and pecan cobbler. The beans are strangely close to Ranch Style beans. I like RS so I wasn’t worried about them using canned at this point. If those aren’t out of a can, then bravo because those rocked. Pecan cobbler also was a nice finish. Small serving, but thankfully good enough to cleanse some of the bitterness on my tongue left from the ribs. Also, while I’m not a sauce guy… it really helps here. Sauce is nice and thick with a good flavor and slight spice. After leaving, I was a bit upset that I passed a perfectly good Stanley’s BBQ in Tyler on the way here and was half tempted to stop by to help redeem the day. But I chose to suck it up and just head back home. I am disappoint :/

If you want to know what East Texas style brisket is supposed to taste like, this is your place. Perfectly prepared, no sauce needed. Excellent sausage. Avoid the chains; this place deserves to be supported. The ribs have a good reputation, but I’ll try those next visit.

BBQ chicken and beans are off the hook! Ribs are awesome too. So are the boudains and the chopped beef. Okay, everything is awesome at Bob’s.

Bob’s is always good. I love their Sausage Links Sandwich and everything else I have had there has always been good. The best part is that the prices are very reasonable for BBQ.
