I’ve had a range of health concerns seemingly not connected that when treated by traditional medicine only increased in severity. I’d lost hope in ever feeling like myself again. For several years, I’d googled naturopath in Las Vegas and found nothing. One day, after reading an interesting article, I tried Functional Medicine and up popped SHS. I called to schedule a consultation immediately. Dr. DeMartino is young, incredibly smart and immediately put me at ease. He showed me how my issues were all connected and explained how he planned to treat me combining best practices in homeopathic therapies with new technology. Despite a setback from a now terminated staffer, I feel like I’m on the road to wellness. It’s an amazing thing to feel good again and I’m delighted I hung in there. The office is calming. They are amazingly punctual and respectful of patients’ schedules. They are responsive about concerns and the doctor is accessible and approachable. If you are frustrated from receiving poor medical care or worse, tired of doctors who don’t care at all, I would highly recommend reaching out to SHS. The future of medicine is in wellness. The reason for the low score is not because of Dr. Demartinos abilities. I have not been treated by him to know if what he’s offering works. It’s his fees. Today was the second time I went to his office. The first was a consultation after a lecture at Whole Foods. I liked him immediately and wanted to see him for my health issues. I hit financial issues and was not able to go back, Things have changed for me somewhat so I was excited to try him again. After basically the same consultation (my issues had not changed in 6 months) I was given a treatment plan that was $ 9,000.00 for 6 weeks.
I nearly fell off my chair. This amount was never discussed 6 months earlier, in fact I was told then that they would work with me, his concern was for me to feel better. I remembered that and was excited to find someone that actually cared about my health.
When I looked over some of the things he wanted to do I immediately saw that the foot baths I could get at another location for less than half the cost he was charging. But I was told that I could not go anywhere else for the things on his list. I must do everything in his office even if I could save at another location. So much for working with me and caring about helping me to feel better. I’m very disappointed and once again, I’m left having to fend for myself. I will keep the 2k i saved up and basically treat myself. Eating more vegetables, less animal protein, no alcohol or caffeine, drinking plenty of water and exercising. This will probably produce the same results for a fraction of the cost. And the final insult was I had to pay him $ 50 for pleasure of getting this pricy plan. $ 9K! REALLY?
