The best event ever! The course is a great challenge and everyone is there for each other. It’s all about teamwork and challenging yourself beyond normal limits. I love the event site at lake las vegas. Great views during the course and having the lake used in the obstacles makes it so much fun. I can’t wait to help out next month at world’s toughest mudder and run again next year.

Two down and counting! I had to give this event 4 stars comparing it to last year’s course in Beatty, NV. Here’s the rundown… PROS: 1. Great weather for event, it even almost rained on us which would have been awesome! 2. Along the way we made a new friend to complete our mudding experience which evened out the group for couple related obstacles. 3. All the groups were looking awesome representing their team shirts. 4. Our starter announced that WWP has now raised a total up to 6 million dollars to help our troops! :D CONS: 1. I feel like they could have had at least 10 more obstacles in between all the running. There were more challenging ones in Beatty location. 2. We ran by the whole Lake Mead the whole time and not once did we get to take a dip into it at all.(got to swim across a lake in Beatty) 3. During my tight cramping in my quads, I had asked multiple EMTs for salt tablets, and not one was able to help me out. 4. «Electric Eel» obstacle is not at this location.(very fun to watch friends lol) I personally didn’t enjoy this event due to the fact I did not heal properly the week leading to this event. Major cramping issues in both Quads throughout the whole second half. In conclusion, some tips for completing a ToMu… 1. Make sure you can easily run 3 miles nonstop without a problem. 2. The difficult obstacles that I had seen most people had problems with were the body weight ones, so train your upper body!(especially back muscles for pulling) 3. One week prior to the event… hydrate, increase your salt intake, and load up on lean carbohydrates. 4. While healing, stretch and foam roll out all your soreness around your body. 5. Know what you are getting yourself into.(watch YouTube videos) 6. And last but not least, the more people the merrier/easier. It makes it that much more fun when you have family/friends by your side completing this epic event. Then again I’ve seen loners do this by themselves, for themselves. 7. And last but not least, HELPEACHOTHEROUT! Random information… You will get cold. You will get muddy. You will be exhausted. You might draw blood. And most of all… You WILL get shocked! Message me if interested on joining my next mudding adventure, becuase I’m going to Cali, baby! :D

WHHHOOOOOOOOOOOHOOOOOOOOOOO I’M A TOUGHMUDDER! My teammates were Lawrence M., Mark M., and a Navy Man that we picked up along the way. Make sure you print your ticket, waiver, and parking pass at home to bypass those lines and head straight to check-in. Don’t forget your ID! It was a cloudy day out in Lake Las Vegas and it even rained on us as we ran our 11-mile obstacle course race. The location? You can’t beat it out here in LV. There was a great view of the lake as you were busy making sure you will survive, lol. Waves of runners are sent off every 20 minutes. There will be an MC to hype you up and explain the rules before the race. They also play the National Anthem before you take off. As a Tough Mudder I pledge that: 1. I understand that Tough Mudder is not a race, but a challenge. 2. I put teamwork and camaraderie before my course time. 3. I do not whine — kids whine. 4. I help my fellow Mudders complete the course. First obstacle: Climb over a wall to get to the Start line ;) Quagmire: Lower yourself down into a muddy pit and then hoist yourself over on the other side. Not so bad. Thanks for the boost strange man(camaraderie is what TM is all about)! Arctic Enema: Find the guts to take a nice«bath» by being in a giant pool of ice, lower yourself beneath a wooden plank so that you are fully submerged and come out freezing on the other end. Berlin Walls: Time to scale some 12 foot walls! THANKYOU to The Law and Mark for letting me use you guys as ascending stepping stools so that I may reach the top only to fall down on the other side. Fun fact: Khats land on all four paws. Pole Dancer: Two poles on each side and you may only use your arms to make it to the other side. I could not stay in triple extension at the top and ended up being submerged in the water, but you can still finish it by using the poles to carry yourself through the water. Mud Mile: This one was not as bad as I thought it would be! A giant, muddy pit with pot holes for you to sink into! Balls to the Wall: Scale a 15-foot wall using a knotted rope to get to the top and back down. There are protruding planks that you can use to help yourself. Kiss of Mud: Crawl in mud to get yourself across and you are under barbed wire. Easy enough, right? Just make sure you stay low ;) Killa Gorilla: Pretty lame obstacle where you go uphill and then downhill. WEHAVEBEENDOINGTHATTHEWHOLETIME! DON’T SLAP A NAMEONITJUSTTOJUSTIFYITASANOBSTACLE! Warrior Carry: Tough Mudder sponsors the Wounded Warrior Project. This obstacle was made to remind us to always take care of our fellow soldier. MYPARTNERWASAWESOME! Mark fireman carried me the whooooole entire way(Army Strong(c)) and made me feel like I was as light as a feather. We reached the halfway point where we were supposed to switch up who was carrying who, but we both just scoffed. No way was I carrying him. Cliff Hanger: Scale the ropes to get yourself to the top. Pitfall: Crawl under a log and then walk across a muddy pit. Glory Blades: I did this one without any assistance! Thanks Law! The wooden wall is at an angle. You get yourself to the top and then slide on down. Walk the Plank: I skipped this one as I cannot swim and did not feel like drowning. You walk across a plank, dive into deep waters and then swim out. Funky Monkey: Another obstacle I skipped in case I could not make it across the monkey bars and would fall into water thus facing imminent doom. Everest: Lawrence M. ran up the half pipe and hoisted himself to the top all by himself. I was so impressed! I ran up the half pipe towards the outstretched hands of my comrades who helped me up. Electroshock Therapy: What makes TM stand out amongst other obstacles races? They ELECTROCUTE you :) We ran through the electric charged and waiting wires linking arms. Afterwards, go get that orange headband donned on you and grab your free beer! THANKYOUALLTOUGHMUDDERVOLUNTEERS! YOUGUYSWEREAMAZING! Thank you for supplying the water, protein bars, energy gummies, and bananas as we were racing. I was very impressed that TM had special obstacles designed just for TM Legionnaires(those who have ran one before) in order to show their appreciation for the continued supporters. Pro Tough Mudder Tips: — DONOTWEARCOTTONANYTHING! All of my gear was either Dri-Fit or Quik-Wik so it did not weigh me down. — Trail Running Shoes are a must. I wore New Balance trail running shoes and while others were slipping going downhill, I had a great grip. No ankle twisting here! — Gloves. Some say that it is not a necessity, but they definitely helped me. I wore my fingerless weight-lifting gloves and I was thankful for them many times throughout the race. — Hydrate for a full week prior to the race. — Run as well as strength training to prepare yourself. — Have fun!!! Can’t wait to earn my green headband! 2015 let’s do this! Watch us in action:
