I was in a major time crunch to get a photograph put on canvas for a going away gift the next day. Both Dane and Tom were very helpful and accommodating in getting it done for me in such a short amount of time. The picture looks amazing! Thank you both so much for your help in making this happen so quickly!

Being a Los Angeles native, when I think of art galleries, I think of stuffy, pseudo-intellectual, sterile uncomfortable places where a snobby art dealer looks down their nose at you and manages to twist the phrase, «Can I help you?» into meaning, «Leave, if you aren’t going to buy anything.» Thankfully, Mountain Song Gallery is nothing like that stereotype. It’s a modest, narrow gallery, but it’s warm and inviting. The paintings are emotional and the best way to describe it, is to compare it to comfort food — deceptively simple, cozy and reminds you of home. Not that I ever lived in the mountains, but there’s an enchanting, quiet, reassuring, and bright quality to the work here. The other thing that makes this place special is how laidback and genuinely friendly the owner is. No pressure, no hovering. I was shocked at how affordable the art here is. All these years, I’ve bought decorative art from Bed, Bath & Beyond or Target and for almost the same price, you can buy something really unique at Mountain Song that has a true sense of story and heart. The selection here, although created by the same artist, is very diverse. I loved the Cape Town painting which has a New England, seaside feel to it. Just a few feet away from that were paintings of a country house. If you’re on Main St., this is definitely worth the visit. Sit back in one of their unusual rocking chairs, take a breather and enjoy the surroundings.
