Piranha’s Bar and Grill

When you go in the middle of the day and you have people laying down on the bar because the bartender has over served them way too much liquor! That truly concerns me! You as a bartender should seriously think about the issue’ putting someone’s life in danger just to make a few extra dollars! Be smarter than that people!

Stopped here on a recent trip to Nashville after hearing that it’s a Steelers fan-​friendly bar with sandwiches quite like the infamous Primanti’s ones you can get in Pittsburgh. When we arrived, it wasn’t really clear where to enter the restaurant, so we went through the double doors under the big Piranha’s sign, which basically puts you in an empty room with what looks like a game room to the left and the main bar/​restaurant area to your right. Walking into the restaurant area, there was no hostess so we seated ourselves. I guess that’s what you’re supposed to do since the waitress came over shortly after to give us menus. We waited probably another 10 minutes before a bartender came over for our drink orders. She was pleasant and I’ll try not to let the fact that she was working the floor and the bar impact my review but it definitely resulted in slow service. She brought our drinks and then we waited another 10 – 15 minutes to place our orders. Thankfully we had the Steelers game to watch and pass the time. We had big dinner plans so all we ordered were a dozen wings and an order of mozzarella sticks… the mozzarella sticks came out rather quickly and the wings followed about 5 minutes later. Nothing extremely remarkable about either — the wings come with a heavy helping of fries so you can definitely make a meal out of them. The mozzarella sticks were mozzarella sticks. I’ve never met a mozzarella stick I didn’t like and that didn’t change here. They’re pretty hard to screw up, ya know?
It’s definitely a rowdy crowd on football Sundays, especially if the local Titans are playing at the same time as your favorite team, as was the case when I was there. All the patrons/​fans were entertaining though and at no point did I feel uncomfortable or annoyed by their cheering and jeering.
If you’re looking for a place to watch the game and grab some cheap, greasy bar food, this will do the trick. I think next time if I try and watch a Steelers game when I’m in town, I’ll make the extra trip to the downtown location and hopefully see what the hype is about.

YIKES. That’s the first thing that came to my mind when I walked in. This place is a mess. It needs a lot of work. It is a dirty bar.
One of my co-​workers «won» a happy hour party so we decided to have our Fantasy Football draft here. The party (which all you had to do was email them to «win,» based on their Facebook post) included happy hour specials (half off drafts, $ 3 wells and wine), free soft drinks and lots of free appetizers. While the drink specials and appetizers were all five-​star, the service and atmosphere was not.
We called to make sure they had wifi so we could use our computers to draft, and were told yes. When we got there, the guy who was maybe the manager, or maybe the cook (?) told us the wifi «doesn’t really work.» WHAT? That was frustrating. Luckily we were able to use Xfinity wifi or our phones, but it was a pretty inconvenient struggle when we were only 15 minutes away from the draft starting.
It looked like there was one bartender and one waitress the entire time we were there, so we had to go to the bar to order drinks most of the time (which is very inconvenient when you are in the middle of a Fantasy draft).
I think this place could be something great, but it is far from that right now, and probably won’t be under the current owners.

First time trying this place. It would be hard to get me to give them a second chance. The waitress was AWFUL. It was obvious she did not want to be there and had a attitude. It took forever to get our food which was just appetizers. The food itself was basic bar food. Nothing special.
The bathroom was filthy!!! If I wasn’t bursting at the seems from the coffee I drank on the way there I would not have used the restroom as it was disgusting.
This place needs to get their act together

Best Nashville downtown bar! Mandy is fabulous! The food is fresh and fast! Go hear every time we come to Nashville! Already missing their burger! Love the new building!

Above average bar food. Wings are spot on, the spinach wrap BLT was on point, and they have a donut burger! Our server was friendly and tried her hardest to be as fast as she could. She was also the bartender and only server in the restaurant during March madness, so things came out a little slow. The ambiance is marina meets 2^nd ave, but will definitely satisfy a boaters hunger.

A great dive bar with pub food and I mean that as a compliment. It looks and feels like a place like this should. Prices are decent. Wings are delicious as are the burgers and fries.

Worst service ever! My husband and I have just moved to the area and this place is super convenient. We’ve had good food and okay service in the past, but tonight was by far the worst. We each ordered a beer from the bartender and then moved to a table to
eat. A half hour after our first beers were finished we still had not been acknowledged by the waitress walking around (it wasn’t busy) we finally went back to the bar and closed our tab (waited 10 more minutes while the bartenders flirted with regulars) We were planning on ordering food and quite a few more drinks. We’re both in the food industry so we tip pretty well. They definitely missed out on some money from us tonight and we probably won’t be back until they step it up.

What has happened in the past few months? I cannot recommend this bar & grill anymore. They must have terminated the cook. Service on a Friday night was unbelievably slow. Food? Ugh. Drinks were fine but it’s hard to mess up beer in a bottle. Sad to see a good place go downhill.

The food is great, especially the wings, burgers, and fresh cut fries! The atmosphere is laid back and fun… Thursdays are half price days… Best deal in town!

Tonight was our first time visit and I won’t be back.
To start, the service for us wasn’t bad. Ashlea was our server and she did a good job. When we got there it was around 6PM and wasn’t busy at all. I went to the bathroom and in front of the urinal was a puddle of urine, so I went in a stall. It appeared someone had gotten sick in there the night before and nobody had cleaned it up (there was dried puke all over the toilet and floor). This sent a bad vibe through me as I had not eaten yet and I was concerned about the cleanliness of the kitchen based on the bathroom and the fact that it obviously hadn’t been cleaned or even checked all day. I ordered the cheesesteak and my wife a burger. She didn’t even eat hers because it tasted old. The cheesesteak was bland and had almost no steak on it. As I finished my draft beer I found a dead fly in the bottom of the glass. Was the beer poured on top of it or did it land in the beer at the table? I guess I will never know. As I sit and write this I am hoping I don’t get violently ill from the food.

We dock our boat @ Creekwood Marina across the street, so eating here is super convenient… In theory.
This is not our first time here, but yet AGAIN the service leaves a LOT to be desired.
They had ONE brand new waitress on a (very nice weather) Sunday evening, ⁵⁄₁₁. Her replacement didn’t show up, so she was by herself to wait on the ENTIRE restaurant. Somehow they still had 2 bartenders (who didn’t help out), we never saw the manager (why wasn’t there help from that quarter?), & our poor waitress was obviously run ragged.
There are some serious staffing issues here. Our friends LEFT because they didn’t want to take a chance on the food taking forever.
When our food arrived it was good, but not good enough for the hassle involved.
There is a reason that this place isn’t as busy as it should be for the location.
There is a new Sam’s Sports Bar *on* the lake, along with the Rudder & if they can’t step it up & improve here, I guess we will be having drinks & dinners somewhere else.
PS I’ve worked in bars & restaurants over the years & my Manager would have been fired for a night like that.

Downtown location is far superior. This is the second time we have been here and both times service and food were lacking. First time was a few weeks after opening this location so we gave it a second try a few months later. Location is great. Across from the lake and great open air patio. That’s where it ends. This proves that sequels aren’t always as good as the original. We will stick to the downtown location.

Geeze what do I say. Mediocre service, great atmosphere, disappointing food. You can tell the cook and the bartender that served me did not care what was on the plate. I order a burger and it was cooked wrong and the gallon of blue cheese on it almost made me not eat it. Well I hope my dinner will make up for this lack luster lunch. I will not be eating here again.

My humble opinion… This place has the BEST sports bar vibe in the ‘Ville. The patio rocks… particularly in the fall. Lots of delicious food and libations… The redo is just right for the patio and the games in the back are old school fun. Take Sam’s out of your rotation and try and «Get Bitten» by the Piranha!

Such friendly service! Very good food! Best double cheese bacon burger in the area! Outdoor dining across street from marina w great live entertainment! Fun to sit outside, eat, n sing along if u wish! Large separate game room w pool tables n arcade games! Separate bar/​dining area appears to b for private party. Reasonable prices! Definitely b back! Eric is a hoot!

Well it’s new so I guess they are still working the bugs out. Very nice outside deck. Food is really great! The service could use a little help but also thinking because they just opened everyone is learning.
