The food was good; we had two sandwiches, two empanadas and 2 drinks. Cost: $ 7 and $ 7.50 for the two sandwiches; $ 4 for the two empanadas; $ 2 for the two drinks. Total $ 20.50, plus tax — very reasonable, right? But at the cash register we were told the total price was $ 42. After some back and forth, my SO finally paid $ 30, just to be done with it. The poor girl at the register seemed terribly confused. The food was good, but not good enough to repeat that experience.

Amazing Argentine food made by Argentines! Awesome pastries(facturas) and decent coffee for breakfast. For lunch or dinner they have amazing sausages(chorizo) and of course beef! Small place in lakeside, worth checking out.

My husband picked up some delicious pastries from Los Gauchos this evening and they were such a delicious surprise! Hector, the owner, was extra friendly explaining what each item was. We certainly plan on returning to sample more Argentinian delights! I hope more folks give Los Gauchos a try because we’d love for it to stick around and to contribute a unique flavor to Lakeside.

Authentic Argentinian here in Richmond! My wife is Argentine and since we moved here from NY it’s something we have really missed. Chori Pan(argentine sausage sandwich), Lomo(steak sandwich) and empanadas were all very well done and 100% home made — including their own argentine sausage(no fennel). We had one each of the sandwiches and three empanadas — beef, chicken and spinach all were fantastic — will try the corn empanadas next time. We went for lunch on a Sat. They have a nice selection of home made argentine pastries as well, we took a couple of alfajors home to enjoy with coffee after dinner. It’s a small spot, not a fancy date place, it’s got 3 small 4 top tables and bar seating around the wall, but the food is legit and totally worth it. We will be going back often, sometimes to buy pastries others for dinner or lunch… I hope these guys do great! Go try argentine food, you will love it. Oh and ask for extra chimmichuri!

Legit Argentinian comfort food with amazing service. Empanadas and milanesa were especially on point. We also loved that there was chimichurri to have along the churrasco.
