This place was interesting — the high’s were really high, and the low’s were still pretty good! Four of us decided to brunch there, we got there before they opened, but they let us in(right before the doors were to open anyway.) The décor is BEAUTIFUL and rustic, lots of wood and interesting art, nice open dining room. We ordered 2 beer flights(so we could taste everything they had to offer) and 2 of the specials — shrimp cocktail bloody Mary’s. The beers came out on wooden trays, and numbered, so you knew what the heck you were drinking! I’m not a beer drinker, but the ones that were said the good ones were really good, and there were at least 2 they really didn’t care for. To each their own! My friends weren’t hoppy beer fans. The Bloody Mary was delicious! We got an order of BBQ wings — really good! They have a bunch of wing varieties and sauces. We definitely want to go back and try more sauces! We ordered chicken and dumplings(or biscuits?), shepherds pie, chili Mac and cheese, and sausage pepper and onion Mac and cheese. Sorry to say, the chicken and dumplings wasn’t memorable. It tasted fine, could’ve used *something,* but we couldn’t put our finger on what exactly it needed. The shepherds pie was really delicious, and the chili Mac and cheese was really good too, but the hands down FAVORITE was the sausage, pepper and onion Mac and cheese. I can’t wait to go back and try the burgers and other offerings, Hammos has like, a dozen varieties of Mac and cheese?! How can this place be bad. DESSERTS. We shared a cannoli, the chocolate pudding, and tiramisu. Holy CRAP, the chocolate pudding was amazing. I’m sure you’re thinking, hello it’s chocolate pudding — not special, and pretty juvenile. No way man, this shit was legit. The tiramisu and cannoli were good too, but the pudding was really good! The waitress was great. Maybe because we were the only ones there at the time, but she was just attentive enough, offered recommendations, REALLY knew the menu, and was funny. I can’t wait to go back!

This restaurant was an unexpected find on our last trip to Windham. We were surprised at the variety of Indian dishes available. The local beer options was also a plus. We would definitely go back.

Great place for drinks! The craft beer selection is always changing and has some interesting creations, like a jalapeño and cucumber blonde ale, and a strawberry wheat ale on the menu today. The bar food specialty in my opinion is the mac n cheese, which comes in 3 varieties and is large enough to be a meal in its own right. I also like the new Indian menu, which has a couple of different curry options and seems like a low fat/heathy choice.

Walked in & stood at the hostess stand for a good 5 minutes before the hostess got up from a table of 6 in front of the fire to seat us. The bartender rather talk to a customer than tell us they’d be right with us. Mac & cheese was ok. Beer ok. The NY strip steak was pretty good along with the mashed potatoes & Heinz jarred gravy. But the mixed vegetables oh the vegetables they seemed to be from a frozen bag & cooked in a cast iron skillet or roasted needless to say they were burnt & very distasteful. Waters with lemon were good too along with our server. For desserts we had tiramusu & cheesecake both were very good.

If you are in Windham and you don’t check this place out… You’re an idiot. It’s not fancy, it’s fun. You leave FED and happy. Get one of their Mac ‘n Cheese creations. Get the beer sampler too. They had 6 of their own brews and 4 from outside small breweries. Awesome comfort food meal and drinks for two was under $ 50. While planning our trip, we didn’t see this place in our search. Apparently, they have an inn here which is dog friendly. Major bonus points for us. Next time we will book here and if my girl can drag me out of the pub, I might get some snowboarding in.

If you’re visiting Hunter Mountain Hammo’s should definitely be part of your trip! Expect hearty comfort food here — their selection of Mac n’ Cheese is top notch. The classic is our favorite, but they have a few delicious variations in it as well. My favorite dish is the beer battered fish — light and crispy, their homemade batter is delicious! Desserts are delicious as well and if you really want a treat check out their selection of craft beers, brewed right on site. Décor or cozy and the staff are very friendly! Made us feel right at home on our first stop in!

This is the worst restaurant I’ve ever been to! Including my table, all other guests around waited at least 90 minutes to get their food. If a zero star could be a choice in Unilocal,i would have put a zero. DONOTEVER go here to dine!!!

The food at Hammo’s was amazing but the service is the real winner. As soon as we walked into Hammo’s, we were warmly greeted and promptly seated. The décor was cozy with a fireplace and soft lighting. Reading the other reviews, I immediately was eyeing the mac and cheese and it is by far THEBEST mac and cheese I’ve ever ate. I had the chicken bacon mac and cheese and my wife the mushroom mac and cheese. It will not give the dishes justice to describe. You just need to go there and have it. We also ordered a side of scrumptious biscuits(which were not on the menu but the staff was super accommodating and made it for us). After we ate the owner made sure we were taken care of and were extremely welcoming. We had a wonderful experience and highly recommend!

Great find! The food was solid and the beer was great. I had the chicken BLT and while a chicken sandwich is not all that exciting the toppings set it apart. I really like the pickled onions, Brie, and Roasted tomatoes. My fiancé(the mac and cheese expert) tried the buffalo mac and cheese and really enjoyed it. The stout had nice head and was full of flavors. I wish I got to troy a few more but I will be back. Overall, the service and the food were very good, but the beer makes it worth coming back to.

Went on New Year’s Day. The staff had been worked very hard the night before yet we still received excellent service and delicious food. We were a group of 15 and everything was timely, hot, delicious and brought with a smile. Thumbs up to Mary Beth our server and to the chef. Our first time here but definitely won’t be our last. A welcome addition to the area.

A friend and I stopped in on Saturday after getting ourselves all moved into our ski crib in Tannersville, NY. Now that we are ‘locals’ these Staten Islanders needed to seek out some ‘home-bases’ for the Winter. Hammo’s is a good looking place with a very comfy vibe. Menu was composed of some funky twists on old classics– the bacon wrapped shrimp was legit and the duck wings the bartender talked me into were pretty damn good. We definitely plan on coming back here once the season gets into full swing. On a side note, Allison and Jess are very easy on the eyes!

We were looking for a new and different place for a family dinner. Hammo’s had been recommended, I read the reviews and decided to give it a try. Great choice. Everything was excellent, the beer, our meals and the service. Great atmosphere, The outside seating looked inviting but will have to wait for a warmer evening. We will definitely be back.

My now-husband and I stayed at Hammo’s for our mini-moon following our wedding this past Halloween. We went during the off season, so the town of Windham and the surrounding area was very quiet, but we had fun hanging out with the locals and the owners at the bar during our stay in between hiking adventures. Due to them only being open since this past July, there are still some kinks to work out, like how to work the heat in the section of the building that we were staying in(once it was figured out, though, there was no problem). On the other hand, everything has been newly renovated and replaced, so we had a brand new temperpedic king bed, and the bathroom fixtures were all new. We got a tour of the rest of the lodge from Katie, the hospitality manager, which was great. All of the other rooms in the building are also newly renovated, with a variety of bed options and bathroom sharing options. When the third floor is done, it will be perfect for college kids looking to ski in the area, because the affordable rooms with shared bathrooms are in the perfect price range for those on a small budget. The bar/restaurant is awesome. The restaurant serves great food, and the bar has even better craft beers on rotation from Ryan. All of the other staff members are very friendly and work well with each other as a team. Also newly renovated, there is a ton of seating, most of which have a great view of the televisions during sports events. Katie and Ryan are planning to renovate the area behind the building to create a biergarten atmosphere and turn it into an event space, which sounds great and will work very well there. I’m hoping to collaborate with Katie in the next year or so to plan a retreat with my friends!

My group had a memorable night at Hammo’s and we can’t wait to go back. From a variety of unique beers, to delicious food(mac & cheese HEAVEN) to a guitar player, fireplace, to warm&welcoming customer service(the owners are lovely and make everyone feel at home) all in all a fantastic dining experience in Hensonville — super close to Jewett, Windham, Hunter, Tannersville etc. Might I also say, I am counting down the days until I can have another buffalo chicken flatbread! Thanks for a great night, Hammo’s(and HIKATHY!)

Saw the sign go up a while ago and had been excitedly waiting to try this new brew pub. This weekend my wife and I had the chance to stop in for dinner on the way to my inlaws’ place in Jewett. The parking lot seemed full but the restaurant and bar are pretty big so we had our choice of seats. We took a seat by the stone fire place and ordered some of their house beers. House brewed beers were good but a bit tame, maybe when they’ve been around a while we’ll see some more adventurous brews. Food menu had a nice variety to it, lots of solid pub food with a few interesting twists. They have a selection of mac and cheese variations that looked interesting plus burgers and simple entrees. We tried all the beers they had available the night we went between the two of us(couple pints and a flight) and were quite happy, especially liked the dark beers. I got shepherds pie which was pretty standard but warmed me up on a cold fall night. My wife got the fried fish, which I am usually not a big fan of but the batter was light, flaky and tasted great. The side of mac and cheese that came with my wife’s meal was awesome, I think I will definitely go for one of the mac and cheese entrees next visit. We had a piece of chocolate cake for desert which was good but not great. Prices seemed reasonable, food was good and the beer was good. Wait staff maybe need a little polish especially on beer knowledge but were nice and attentive. The ambiance is nice, not too fancy but not divey. This place is definitely going into the rotation of area restaurants for our weekends in the Catskills.

I had high hopes walking in… but they need to work out some service and food kinks. Hoping they can, because we always loved this spot when it was under previous owners/management. The staff didn’t just seem new; they were inexperienced, although I will say they were very pleasant. I can’t imagine them being able to handle a larger crowd(it was a quiet night). And menu items tasted bland — for example, the shepherd’s pie beef mixture could easily have come from a can. The place also didn’t feel all that cozy, which was surprising to me… I think it’s their selection of tables/chairs. Not much ambience. Maybe it will be cozier this winter. We’ll give it another try this winter season and hope things will have improved because it has a lot of potential to be a great place.

Was very pleasantly surprised by this place. Solid food. Started with the oysters on the half shell and they were fresh and meaty. My favorite was the prime rib. It was a special so if you see it when you’re there, definitely get it. The meat was flavorful and tender and super yummy. It was such a good deal too. I guess prices aren’t that high in the Catskills but coming from the city, this was a great deal. We also had the burger that’s made with half ground beef and half ground bacon! As a bacon lover, had to get this. It was a really good burger but I wish there was more bacon flavor. Crazy right? Half bacon in the patty and I still want more bacon flavor. There was also a homemade bbq sauce smothering two fried onion rings on the burger that was divine. For the sides we had the mashed potatoes and mac and cheese. Both were solid dishes. The restaurant has a nice large deck in the back which is great during the summer. It’s probably also good for having parties. The lodge that’s attached also has a side room with pool tables. It would have been nicer if the pool tables were in the bar or closer without having to go through the lobby area of the lodge.
