Laughing Boar Guest House

I stayed here with a large group this summer and everybody in our party really, really enjoyed it. It’s beautifully decorated – you’ll never get tired of finding all the unique little things around the house! The owners/​proprietors are very easy to talk to and they’re very accommodating. The dining room table is huge and it makes for easy family-​style dining with your fellow guests. There’s a really great outdoor seating area where you can barbecue, too.
I’m not sure if it’s an option for people that don’t know each other to rent different rooms here, but I would definitely suggest renting the whole house if you’re staying… the layout would make it difficult to maintain privacy otherwise. I have some rather tall people in my family so the size of the en-​suite showers was a bit challenging for them. There is central air downstairs but the upstairs rooms are cooled by very, very effective window units. Lastly, the owner informed us that we needed to be careful about having the window units plugged in at the same time as things like blow-​dryers. Still, this house was built in the 1800s and it’s a delightful place to stay. I recommend it!
