Easy Reader

This wadded up piece of paper arrives weekly in my driveway. It is so crumpled up it is impossible to read. Why would anyone advertise in this? It is unreadable and a waste of paper. I always throw it in the trash, but opened this one to show how ridiculous it is. Easy Reader… stop throwing your trash on everyone’s driveway. Nobody reads a wadded up piece of paper.

Local news publication that will be transitioning to bigger things soon!
I’ve been corresponding with one of the editors and he is extremely friendly, we follow the same articles so discussing them was a total journalism geek out. I will soon start reporting for them and I’m excited for their future.
A lot of their feature stories are written with a true, human touch. I think that needs to be acknowledged. Blending news stories while translating them to the general public isn’t easy, specially for a small paper. I give credit

I’ve had contact with one of their reporters. She wasn’t professional.
I used to pick up this paper everywhere in the South Bay. Now I barely see any issues. The only place I can find it is in front of their office. What happened?

Worst rag in South Bay. Period.

I grew up reading this and looking forward to seeing friends and family feature in articles. If you are not a local to the area, you may not appreciate what a great paper this has been to those who are.

Wow, I don’t get the venom spewing. It’s no NY times, but it’s also not as blatantly Manhattan Beach realtor biased as the Beach Reporter, and it’s stories are often more interesting.

I’ll start this review by saying I don’t think it’s fair that other Unilocalers gave this entire publication one star based on one staff member writing a bad review of a band they like. I did contact these Unilocalers to see what their issue was and after hearing their side understand their frustrations, but don’t think it’s right that they dole out one star reviews when even with their own admission they’ve only ever picked up the one issue that included the review of the band they like and considering none of them live anywhere near the community this publication serves.
Bearing in mind that this is a local weekly paper I think they do a great job at keeping the community posted on things happening in and around the beach cities. I can always rely on the Easy Reader to let me know what events are coming up, what the hot issues are on each City Council’s agenda, whose running for office, what new businesses have come into town and what bands are performing in my area. (Even the ones with irrational hot headed fans)
The Easy Reader offices have also served as my polling place :)

I have lived in the south bay for a long time, and rarely (if ever) read it. Mostly just take it right to the recycle bin.

SERIOUSLY, I WISH I COULD GIVE NEGATIVE STARS ON THIS PIECE OF TRASH PUBLICATION. The Newspaper is run by idiots — from the writers to the editors and publishers. How can they be so lame and trashy? It pisses me off that people can call themselves «writers» who are purely idiots with an ignorant opinion of the world. I’m sure none of them have actually studied journalism or know anything about reporting/​writing. It’s quite obvious that most people could write more interesting articles than these jerks. It makes no sense that anyone would read this trash… Seriously folks, pick up the Pennysaver… MUCH more interesting than this crap. I wish we could get the trees back that its killed in its time on this earth. LAME.

This garbage-​filled bigoted RAG has one good point. It makes excellent fire starter for your barbecue or as liner for your bird cage. A publication run by high school students? At least the articles are written that way. Don’t waste your reading time on this piece of shit with print on it. Funny the 5-​star «reviews» written by Cheri and Joan also give you a link to advertise in this crap liner and a description of the garage they work out of, proving you have to be paid to write a good review about this dribble publication. If you’re an ADVERTISER… DON’T WASTE YOUR MONEY BECAUSE ONLY EMPLOYEES READ IT.

So, I’ve only read, like, 5 pages, total, of one edition of EASY READER, but apparently such a tiny tiny sampling is enough to judge the entire newspaper and all its editors AND faithful readers, as proven by the publication of Ryan Beachkofski’s review of Cubensis, whom he only saw for 10 minutes. With that being said, here is MY (equally unprofessional, biased, and amateurish) review of their paper:
The EASY READER is a completely unprofessional, amateurish, hate-​mongering piece of crap, and all its readers are self-​obsessed, gas guzzling SUV drivers with fake tans and plastic boobs. I mourn the loss of the trees so sadly put to use to print the trash that EASY READER spews. The only people who use the EASY READER appropriately are the bums who use it to wipe their asses.

The Easy Reader is great! I love reading the local news and the advertising is much less than all of the other publications especially with real estate. It is distributed on Thursday and if you did not receive one in front of your home you can go to many local newspaper stands or to your local library and it will be there.

Easy Reader is one of the local free papers, very popular. The walls of their spacious offices are used for ongoing shows of original work by local artists. Currently hanging are colorful oils on canvas by Richard Stephens of Redondo Beach. Good show, Easy Reader!
