Been coming here for years ! Great tasty food, I have also taken friends here and they seem to love it as well

Good, quick, tasty. We ordered online, which was very convenient. The bourbon chicken was particularly good, and the vegetables are fresh and tasty.

The service was awesome and the staff was great. The food was just ok, pretty bland Asian food with not much of a kick. Enjoyed my meal but wouldn’t go back again.

This restaurant is a small little shop in a corner of a shopping area. At first, I was a little sketched out about going in. I did not know what to expect. I looked at the menu when I got in and was surprised at the variety of choices. The staff was surprisingly very friendly considering how quite and boring it seemed upon walking in. This made my brother and I feel more welcomed to their restaurant. My little brother and I sat down in their casual front dining area. It’s quite with no music, but we weren’t there looking for a good time, just food. Our food came out and I was astounded at the amount of food I got. Let’s say this. I’m 6″ and 200 lbs and I got 2 solid meals out of it. ANDITWASDELICIOUS! I did not expect much, but this little restaurant far exceeded my expectations.

Suprisingly very good and inexpensive. Orange chicken was crispy and tangy, and actaually has oranges in it. Kung Pao was great as was the chicken fried rice. Rice wasn’t as authentic as we were looking for in a fired rice, but the flavor was amazing. Everything was fresh, flavorful and hot. Can’t complain. I never even consider this place when asked where to roder Chinese food from. Not sure why that was. Perhaaps I thought a chain wouldn’t be as good and tasty as it was. I am happy that we went and have a lot of left overs. For only $ 28 we had 3 entrees and a 4 piece appetizer.

One of our favorite fresh and fast asian food places! Good food and service. I love the honey tofu and every category is good. They have cool deals during the week. Good soup, chicken, rice and noodles.

I didn’t have very high expectations walking in here. After all, it’s the South Bay and we are talking about Chinese food… fast food Chinese food at that. Well, this place went above and beyond what I envisioned both in flavor and service. I’m stuck in this area right at lunchtime while my son attends a class and this sounded like an okay option. It was definitely more than okay! I had Unilocaled prior of course so I went with the House Special Beef(not on the menu but they can do it) lunch combo with cream cheese wontons and white rice. I asked for extra crispy, extra garlic AND extra green onions and my requests were met with a smile and a yes we can do that! The girl also said I could get it spicy… hmmm, maybe next time? To my surprise the food was cooked up fresh and brought to my table(you get a card with a number on it) right out of the wok. No steam tables here! It was amazingly delicious… a crispy caramelized flavor explosion. The wontons were a little bland but fresh and hot with a nice crunch The girls behind the counter even let me try a chocolate covered fortune cookie for free… yum! Will be back regularly! I already have cravings!

This is the second time we have been here. We ate here last year on our last trip to Hermosa Beach and enjoyed the food and service for a second time. The employees who we dealt with were very customer friendly and courteous; and the food was extremely good and well priced for what was served. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone who likes inexpensive and well flavored Pad Thai Noodles and Firecracker chicken with chow mein.

Kung Pao Tofu YUM! I haven’t tried any of their meat dishes, but every tofu dish is super tasty. Be sure to drink a lot of water after because the food tends to be very salty, but good nonetheless. Not an every day meal, but perfect for a once in a while treat. I go a couple times per month.

Not sure why the reviews are so low. I loved the quality, the place was clean and the staff were very friendly! I was in a rush so I ordered a meal to go and had enough time to spare to enjoy my dinner. Definitely get a kids wok! The meal portions are HUGE. I got the house spicy chicken kids wok, extra spicy. It comes with a soda or juice, a wonton, your entrée, rice & a fortune cookie for around $ 5. When I’m back in the area, I will come here again!

I order a few entrees, one to eat at the restaurant and one to go. I get the Thai coconut curry and decide to eat that one at the restaurant. I ask to sub the mushrooms for the carrots, as I really can’t stand carrots, except for carrot juice. So I start to dig into my meal and notice that there is barely any chicken at all, it’s all vegetables. The flavor is great with the white meat chicken, red bell pepper, white onions, broccoli, green beans and a tiny, tiny amount of mushrooms. I just don’t get it, as I requested to sub the mushrooms for the carrots. Wouldn’t you think they would add as many mushrooms as they did all the other veggies to make it balance out??? I guess not. As for the lack of chicken, I really expected more and it’s hardly two portions as the menu suggests. I think another two ounces of chicken wouldn’t be asking too much, as there just wasn’t much. Again, the flavor was amazing and just the right amount of spices made for a very tasty dish. I tried the bourbon chicken and that has plenty of chicken and just the right amount of sauce to make this an excellent dish. Seems like this chain is trying to get back on track, but with some of their dishes they come up just a hair short.

I don’t usually go out of my way to post a review, but I had zero satisfaction here. I ordered entrees of kung pao chicken &one of shrimp. The boxes were so full of veggies that it was literally hard to find the meat. For the price, I should get what I ordered. When I called to see if they maybe made a mistake, i was told they weigh all the meats. Never coming here again.

First time visiting Pick up Stix. I ordered the grilled grilled bourbon chicken and brown rice. The lady at the counter was pleasant. The food was delicious! I will return here and try other things on the menu

Pick Up Stix is the bridge you cross between the Steam Tray(such as with Panda Express) and the Sit Down Restaurant(such as with Chin Chin or P.F. Chang’s) as far as mainstream Chinese Chains in America goes. The food is good generally speaking. The PLUS side is they have a BROWNRICE option, but without any«upcharges» — Way to go to support healthy eating without financial penalty! They have Chicken, Beef and Shrimp(as well as Tofu /Vegetables) for their«Rice Plates» as well as a selection of salads, noodles(chow mein style), appetizers and a won ton soup. The Won Ton soup is decent, and the small size is only $ 1.99, but you can’t compare the won ton to the real authentic won ton soup where the dumplings in traditional Chinese restaurants are way more robust with actual fillings of ground pork and shrimp. For the area and all considerations of the convenience and price, it’s not bad. They put in the small one 2 – 3 tiny won ton’s, some chicken, mushrooms, shrimp, water chestnuts, carrots, broccoli, I think green onions too(I ordered mine without), in a bowl of clear chicken broth soup. I had their«house special Beef» which is good, but it does cost $ 8.79 and comes with rice. You can go to a Chinatown styled traditional Chinese restaurant for a rice plate that costs about $ 6 – 7 that comes with a few more bells and whistles(usually free soup and/or salad and an egg roll). HOWEVER… again, for the area, after all, this is The South Bay, and you don’t have to fight for parking nor get stalled in traffic, this is a decent alternative if you’re craving Chinese food. The portion size is actually large enough to split into two(2) meals if you’re disciplined. The quality of the food is tasty and good, as they cook your meal«to order» so you know it’s fresh and you can make adjustments(I’d probably recommend if there is such an option to not add too much salt /soy sauce, since it is fairly sodium heavy generally). The food is prepared quickly, so that’s another plus. I’d rank this better than Panda Express generally, and on par with Pei Wei, but below PF Changs /Chin Chin /Wokano. Comparing the Americanized Chinese Fast Food franchises to «authentic» Chinese cuisine found in Chinatown /San Gabriel, would be unfair(like comparing a steak at The Sizzler to a steak at Ruth Chris Steakhouse). This is located in the outdoor shopping center in the corner near Jamba Juice /Hallmark and across from the CVS. There’s plenty of free parking whenever I come here, so it’s very convenient.

I usually only review places I love, but since my service was so poor I felt the need to review. I came in a couple of weeks back around 8:45pm and the cashier seemed like she did not want to be bothered with my order at all. I understand that is was close to closing time and she wanted to go home, but she could have slapped on a smile to take my order, or at least paid enough attention to me to get my order correct. Instead she was flirting with multiple employees, and seemed to be more interested in who she was taking home that night instead of getting my order straight. I ordered the cream cheese wontons, garlic shrimp and the fried rice for my boyfriend and I to share. I requested no carrots in any of the dishes since my boyfriend is allergic. When I get home what do I find in my dishes? Carrots! If I was reviewing on food alone, I would have given this place 3 stars, since the food was hot, fresh and rather tasty. If you come in close to close and see at skinny, tall, blond girl run the other way! I wish I got her name, and I am hoping Pick Up Stix aims to hire cashiers in the future who know customers come first and not who they are taking home that night. I will not be returning to Pick Up Stix in the future.

We wanted a quick dinner and Chongs was closed. So Pick Up Stix was the closest substitute. We paid $ 50 for 4 people and it was awful! The cashier spoke almost zero English and our order had to be repeated several times. I’m pretty sure I didn’t get sesame chicken because it tasted like sweet fried chicken. No sesame flavor whatsoever. Plus, check out my picture. The $ 8 dish was 75% white rice and 25% entrée. Chongs gives you two rice/noodle options and two entrees for the same price. I tried some of my mom’s bourbon chicken and it was alright. The chow mein was awful. The sauce was oddly sweet and I couldn’t tell what they put in it. The cream cheese wontons are the only reason for two stars instead of one. Just don’t use the sauce that comes with it. Pretty sure it’s just powdered ginger and soy sauce. Definitely not going back. Yikes. Edit: Changed my comment about the chow mein. Apparently you have to pay extra for veggies, though it wasn’t explained to us at the register.

Tried Pick Up Stix for the first time today and we weren’t too impressed. The order consisted of: Chicken Fried Rice, Crispy Honey Chicken w/White Rice and a Chinese Chicken salad. The fried rice was the best thing we tried(MUCH better than Panda’s) and if I were in the area, desperate and craving fried rice I’d give it another go. The rest of the meal I’ll take a pass on. If you like Panda you might like this, but if you’re looking for something with even a hint of not having been prepared by some talking fake panda in a Wanchai Ferry commercial keep it moving. It’s located in a shopping center with plenty of parking so that’s a plus and the service was great(another plus).
