The food was Ok, I really liked the originality of the sauces and ingredients of the tacos but they were honestly not great taco’s just Ok, nothing to write home about… That being said, I am writing this hoping the owners will see it. Hermosa used to be a nice and respectable place but now because of employees like the guy working at Project Taco last weekend you might as well be in South Central LA. I am only commenting on the actions of the employee of project taco. We get there and he had«gangsta rap /hip hop» music playing turned up to «10» and the speaker was right where they take your order. Us and everyone who ordered while we were there had to yell as this guy and he didnt even attempt to turn down the music(very unprofessional). Not to mention with literally EVERYOTHERWORDINTHEMUSIC was Nigga, Nigga, Nigga, Bitch, Bitch, Bitch and Fuck, Fuck, Fuck… with children sitting all around at adjoining establishments AND at Project Taco with their parents looking like WTH! (Absolutely not good for business longevity and customer relations) NOWTOTOPITALLOFF… when the patrons of Project Taco finished their meal(while we were still there) the Project Taco employee closes the door of the place and walks across the way about 30 yards, pulls out a Pot pipe the size of a baby’s arm and blatantly starts getting high!!! We were like WTF!!! I won’t ramble on and on but for those of you and us who are from the area or have been here a long time have seen what the Rap culture /music and mentality have done to nice areas. It’s happened to so many bars and restaurants in the South Bay for the exception of the ones that try to keep a handle on the kind of music they play and caliber of people that come to the bar. Manhattan beach is also somewhat guilty and slightly maintaining good clientele but if they keep going with this sort of environment at some of their establishments you’re going to get the same ghetto crowd. Again… not singling anyone out but facts are facts, you cater to the bad element and you’ll get the bad element. Nothing personal against the employee, just words of advice. If you expect to get respect in this life from your peers and to go far, drugs, gangsta rap and bad grammar will undoubtedly not help you out.

Love this spot! Quick easy meal if you’re pressed for time, or just want something super chill. Tacos are delicious. Some are kind of funky/non-traditional, but tasty nonetheless.

Great spot for late night tacos with fresh and healthy ingredients after a late night out at the bars. The prices are very reasonable and the tacos are amazing. I recommend the Wilshire Pot Roast or the Pork with kale Apple slaw.

Really nice costumer service. Quick and delicious. I ordered the Blueberry Bbq and was really afraid it would suck. It was really good! I also got the Wilshire Pot Roast. It had an interesting flavor that I didn’t love, but overall good. I’d def go back.

Impressed! I certainly didn’t expect much to be open once we left the Lighthouse and the live band that was playing the other night, but it was wonderful to step out and see this place right next door and they were open late! We were a bit hungry and we really didn’t want to search to far or too long looking for a place that was open. This place is very small, but I guess that’s all they need. The menu is very simple, yet gourmet. We ordered two green chili pork tacos and one chicken and avocado taco. The green chili pork comes with shredded pork, cabbage, cilantro crema and homemade tomatillo salsa with onion and cilantro. The chicken avocado taco comes with shredded chicken, onion, cabbage, and cilantro and a homemade guacamole and pineapple habanero salsa. The tortilla surprised me the most. I really expected a crunchy, greasy mess and instead, it wasn’t fried or greasy, at all! It was very moist and light and has to be one of the best corn tortillas that I’ve ever had. At $ 4 a taco, I was a bit skeptical about the taste and size, but I would definitely go again and try something else. Even though they’re a bit pricey for a taco, it was definitely a surprisingly healthy option for that time of night and I felt like you pay a little more because it is a healthier option. I also like the fact that they can turn any of their tacos into a vegetarian option… either with all veggies and sauce or their Beyond Meat ground beef. They have breakfast options, but those are only served on weekends and they do have side items like chips and salsa or apple-kale coleslaw. I’m not a fan of coleslaw, but I do want to try that one. They also offer a few desserts and drinks, as well. The only issue I had was that they weren’t keeping up with cleaning their seats and tables. We had to clean it up as best as we could and even then, some food and sauces were dried up on the seats, so you know it had been sitting there for awhile.

Some of the tastiest tacos around! They have creative combos(like blueberry bbq), and their food tastes fresh/clean! The service was also very good… the only thing I would say against this spot is that the«kale slaw» was more like a side salad. But being from the south, maybe I just have a different view of what slaw is. All in all, this place was the cat’s pajamas!

We tried a total of four tacos: 1) Chicken Avocado 2) Chicken and Green Chili 3) Blueberry BBQ 4) Thai Chicken All were delicious and very flavorful. The meat was not over cooked and the tortillas were soft and cooked to perfection. I give this place 5 stars because the gentleman was flexible with my order and sub’ed out the pork in the blueberry BBQ.

Place was difficult to find because google maps took me to a parking lot at 1 am but that’s what late night adventures are all about. So after parking and following the noise of crazy drunk college kids, we finally ended up at this shop. The dude working there was chill and was super helpful about what we should try. Overall the food wasn’t UBER amazing BUT as drunchies this would definitely hit the spot. Would I come out of my way here to eat here? No, not really… But if I was in the area at night after a round of bar hopping, this would be the first place I hit up.

PPSSSTT! These ain’t no ‘tacos’ – they’re actually Whole Foods deli flatbread sandwiches DISGUISED as tacos. But regardless, they’re PRETTYKILLER on the Hermosa Pier after Midnight! 4 S T A R S * SURPRISINGLYGOOD My skepticism of the California-concept menu swiftly transformed from DISTRUST into LUST! Sanora-style tortillas of leavened flour are puffy and tender. Meats are okay, but their real job is providing the protein canvas for the bright, layered flavors of the wonderful SAUCES. Healthy VEGGIES like carrots, kale, cucumber, and cabbage are crispy and fresh. All ‘Tacos’ are $ 4. : Beef & Bacon: HORSERADISHAIOLIROCKS! : Blueberry BBQ Pork: *SWEET* BABYJESUS! : Thai Chicken: PEANUTYSAUCE, Dry chicken. : Buffalo Ranch Chicken: CREAMY w/good slaw. : Hawaiian Pork: HEAVYSAUCE, w/pineapple. : Kale and Apple Slaw: GOOD&FRESH! * HERMOSAPIER Nestled in among pubs, clubs, and cantinas, Project Taco is perfect comfort food for a gut sloshing with booze. * OPENLATE Open until 2:30AM! * MARKETINGBRILLIANCE Some California sandwich-master and marketing-WIZARD realized that the word ‘taco’ is way sexier than the word ‘sandwich’ – especially near the beach, especially near bars, and especially late at night. «Fuckin-A Dude I’m soo wasted, OHMYGOD, YASS! TAAACOS!!» Cha-Ching! Enjoy your flatbread sandwiches SUCKAS! 1 M I N U S — SMALLOPERATION The tiniest broom closet of an operation run by college students with no roof above the tight seating. Probably bad news if the line gets long.

Awesome late night tacos in the area! Interesting sauces(like blueberry salsa) and they also have chocolate-covered frozen bananas! Good for sitting outside or walking around the beach. Grab a bunch of napkins because your meal is going to get messy :). (Also, expect drunk people there if you’re trying to get tacos late night on a weekend!)

Not a lot of seating space but a great view. Our favorites included Chicken Avocado, Blueberry BBQ, and the Hermosa Hummus. They also have miracle meatless meat for those vegetarians out there.

These gourmet street tacos are legit!!! And the owner is a very smart business person. When all of the kitchens at the bars on the pier closes(which is around 11:30pm), Project Taco is there to save the day, as they don’t close until 2am. «Smart, smart, smart!!» For $ 4.00 each, you can get a taco. I ordered the chicken avocado & Thai peanut chicken taco. Let’s talk about each of these bad boys. The chicken avocado– spicy, spicy yet so much flavor. The name is a bit misleading though because it’s actually guacamole, not avocados, in the taco. But hey, it was still good. My favorite of the two, the Thai peanut chicken taco. The sauce was perfect, not too sweet. The workers are hella friendly. I didn’t get the African American guy’s name, but he made me and my girlfriend’s first visit very entertaining. Ordering was easy. Food came out fairly quick. No complaints here. When I go back to Hermosa pier, I will definitely be hitting up Project Taco again!

Project Taco has taken your traditional tacos and put a spin on them. The menu is very creative, the tacos are just«good» in my opinion. For $ 4.00 each they were very cheap with the meat and the size of the tacos, I felt bent over spending $ 8.00 on two tacos and I was still starved. They even charge $ 3.50 for chips and salsa.

I went to project taco for a quick bite. First I ordered the southbay breakfast taco, they didn’t have it. Then I said okay how about the 31st street taco? Didn’t have it. Whatever I’m hungry, I’ll have the thai peanut taco and the mighty meat taco. They had ‘em. Even though I was the only person at their restaurant, it took them a good ten minutes before one girl decided to make my food. As for drinks? They were out of everything except Sprite, Dr. Pepper and coconut water. I dislike all of those drinks so I had to settle with tap water. Gross. Thai peanut taco — It was decent. If it weren’t for the fair amount of chili sauce, it would have been bland. Mighty meat taco — Bland. Would not order again. As I’m eating, the two workers decide to blast horrible EDM. I like EDM but they were trying to fist bump during Thursday’s lunch. Turn down bro. They microwave their food. The employees were doing«whip it’s» while I was eating. I left feeling like I will walk that extra block to Burrito Brothers next time.

I’ve always wanted to try this place and went on a Saturday afternoon. It’s a taco stand with exotic flavors. I went with the lox taco($ 4) and boy was I disappointed. It was literally a piece of smoked salmon with chopped onions, tomatoes, cilantro, and a teaspoon of cream cheese. There was no lemon caper flavor to it and the tortilla was rough and dry. The menu made it see like there would be a creamy sauce or at the least a cream cheese spread, but it was literally a glob of cream cheese(see picture). Save your money and go to taco bell. This place is a rip off, I could have made better tacos.

Order at a window, there’s a couple wobbly tall tables, and 3 stools. The tacos here are pretty good. Fresh delicious taco shells from the Tortilla Company. I love that everything could be replaced with Beyond Meat so it’s very vegetarian friendly. However, at $ 4 a pop, the tacos are overpriced for what you get. I’d only come here on Tuesdays where you can get 3 tacos for $ 9, saving $ 1 per taco. After spending $ 10(tax included) on 3 tacos, I was still hungry, not satisfied, which made me kinda sad. It was either to pay $ 4 for one more small taco or pay another $ 10 for 3 more and neither sounded like a good investment. They have Meatless Mondays where you can replace meat with Beyond Meat on any of the tacos and get it for $ 3. However, this special doesn’t apply to Hermosa Hummus because there’s no meat to replace in that one, yet it’s one of the best picks on the menu. Open til 230AM, a perk for night owls.

I got a project for Project Taco: rethink your outside seating – it blows. Wobbly tables, too-wide bench seating, cramped counter. The tacos, however, are very good. Lots of fresh ingredients in interesting, upscale combinations, all on dense, slightly chewy corn tortillas. We went for a Taco Tuesday, where you can select three tacos for $ 8.99(a good deal considering the quality). The biggest issue was that it was – there was only one guy handling it all. And while the toppings were all fresh tasty, the chicken and shredded beef inside were a bit dry and bland. So I like what they’re doing, but they still need to step up their game a bit to truly win me over.
