I went here on a Sunday, and the way Sassy’s operates is to shut down Tender Box next door… dunno why. I guess they share the same lot? It was weird because some old guy came in here while hubby and I were shopping. I thought he was a creep at first tryin’ to get something for a sugar baby, but he just wanted directions to Tender Box, lol. The shop carries lingerie that’s sort of like what you see at Frederick’s of Hollywood, but slightly better. They sell costume and costume supplies as well, along with some adult toys and other miscellaneous items. The prices are pretty competitive, and they do have a sale rack. I was able to get a decent corset here(not steel-boned, but the hook and eye closure was metal and not those flimsy bra-type closures) for 30% off its original price(50 bucks). My only gripe was the lady who helped me didn’t seem to exactly know how to properly loosen and tighten a corset. Every serious corset wearer knows that you should loosen the strings before trying to open the busk(or else you’d cause undue stress on the corset). Yet she had me open the busk first and put the corset on that way… :/I hope that this didn’t further damage my corset(the thing was on sale due to have a slight wrinkle on the front). Perhaps I wouldn’t recommend this place for those who are looking for burlesque supplies, fetish and the like. The staff doesn’t seem trained enough to properly fit corsets onto their customers(hell even the staff at Frederick’s is better at this stuff). But then again, Sassy’s, as another reviewer mentioned before, is more like an ‘emergency shop’ than anything, or just a general boutique. So fetishists looking for a full-blown BDSM store or dancers needing burlesque supplies should look elsewhere. Speaking of customers, the customer service was mediocre. When my husband and I walked into the shop, we weren’t greeted. We weren’t asked if we needed help with anything either, although I usually don’t care for employees asking me this(I actually find it annoying that they go up to me and to that while I’m browsing. But I know that for others, it’s a must so I’m mentioning it here as a notice). Mind you, there was only one person working the shop at the time we walked in, and said person didn’t seem all that talkative and hardly smiled. This sort of nonchalance makes me feel awkward while I’m browsing… in a – let’s say book shop, I wouldn’t mind because places like that are supposed to be quiet. But at speciality stores like Sassy’s? I prefer a little more attentiveness and less disinterest please. They give you 15% off if you write a review on Unilocal, which is nice. But I don’t think I’ll be coming back for a while until service gets better.

2.5STARS **Always see this store riding up and down PCH. I ended up going there twice actually(both times were emergencies). 1st time: Really need something to wear for a halloween party. I wanted a sexy cop outfit but it was expensive for cheaply made materials($ 75). Well desperate times calls for desperate measures… so I ended up as a sexy cop for halloween. 2nd time: Really need stockings for a photo shoot. I actually got several styles… good prices and the cashier was super nice. *They have a small collection of costumes, lingerie and adult items. Good store for emergencies or to browse around. Only warning is to be careful when parking. You can potentially get run over on PCH as the drivers are swhooooshing by so damned fast.
