Just another reason to love Hernando. Top notch bakery. They also serve lunch. I am a frequent customer. Very reasonable prices. My favs are the little quiche. Fav cookie is the confetti. Great place to come in the AM for a quick bite or the kids for an after school treat.

We ordered our wedding cakes from ladybugg. I’ve had their cupcakes and they were great, but these cakes were some of the best I’ve ever had. They were so delicious!!!

Amazing! Scrumptious! Delightful! Love their coconut basil macaroons and their salted caramel brownie!!! Their lunch is great as well. I have four kiddos and they all love their lunch… knowing they’ll be getting a cupcake too probably helps;) The fresh baked bread here is awesome too!

I had to go to an all day meeting for work right around the corner and since I had a coupon(a BOGO cupcake coupon in the Memphis City Saver 2014 which is about to expire) I knew I needed to stop by. Also $ 2 is an awesome price for specialized cupcakes. Everything here is made from scratch so if it tastes any different from other places that’s why. I did notice the cake part tasted different but had no idea why. I’m glad they let me know! I LOVED their Tirsamisu cupcake. It was like so freaking fantastic. Also the girl who checked me out had blue and green hair(I know it was blue at least) and I thought that was super neat. I love free expression. Anyway, I took it home and cut all into fourths so I could share with my family. My family all liked the same flavors as me and made the same observations. I do admit that I was surprised by how filling it was. I could only eat four slices(a whole cupcake) because after that I was full! Anyway, it was a pleasant experience and I enjoyed it. Favorite: — Tiramisu Cupcake Good: — Chocolate Caramel Cupcake Nah: — Eggnogg Cupcake — Cookies and Cream Cupcake

Serious bread in a whimsical setting. The rosemary bread should be on any Memphis area backet list. As good as any bread anywhere.

I first learned of this goodness at the farmers’ market at my workplace. Three of us would get to work ungodly early on Friday mornings to try to get one of the coveted parmesan rosemary scones. I am NOT a morning person so this speaks volumes about the scones. Winter came and the farmers market ended and then when it re-opened the Ladybugg Bakery did not return much to our dismay. So for my coworker’s birthday, I decided to do the unthinkable – I got up even earlier to drive to Hernando, MS before work to pick up a dozen rosemary parmesan scones. And it was completely worth it. The bakery is located just off I-55 at exit 280 and before I even got out of the car heavenly smells were wafting in my direction. My stomach started rumbling as I walked in and noticed that there was quite a crowd for 8 am on a Friday morning. I wished I had more time to stay and have the full experience, but I knew if I stayed much longer I would leave with one of EVERYTHING, particularly the endless variety of salted caramel treats. I was also surprised to see that there was an extensive menu of hot and deli dishes. Made a note to myself that I would need to invent a reason soon to come back to Hernando in the not so distant future. The rosemary parmesan scones were the hit I knew they would be and we had all forgotten just how wonderful they really are – scones can be dry and crumbly, but these are moist and packed with flavor. If these were accessible closer to home, I would struggle not to eat one for breakfast every day. If you were always looking for a reason to go to Hernando, now you’ve got it!

Came thru here on our way to New Orleans from Chicago, in need of sugar and a stretch. Quick downside is purely selfish: no espresso. Can’t half-star it. So between 4 and 5 stars they get them all, because as a bakery they are the bees knees. Their infatuation with all things salted caramel did not go unappreciated, and I was surprised that I could be surprised by a cookie! My god, their kitchen must look like a set off Hogwarts. I won’t lie, their white chocolate macadamia cookie… I came a little. We’ll see them when it’s time to visit up north.

I typically write a review as soon as I dine in an establishment, but for some reason I never got around to it with Ladybugg. I think part of the reason is my first taste was in our tattoo shop. The ladies came out to support Joe Stamp after his motorcycle accident and were selling baked goods in the shop. After trying the coconut basil macaroon, I was hooked. After a bit of procrastination, my favorite dining companion and I finally made it to the actual bakery in Hernando. It was both a great idea, and a horrible idea. I love the shop, the ladies(and the bread man) and the food. It’s gotten to the point that my Saturday doesn’t feel complete without a visit. So on to the reason we’re all here: the food. I’ll start with lunch. We’ve sampled every sandwich on the menu, as well as the chicken Caesar wrap. I can happily report that they are all excellent. The breads are chosen to complement the flavors of the sandwich ingredients, which is a nice change from«white or wheat». My personal favorite is the BLT. The bacon is thick and meaty, and the pesto mayo really sets off the veggies in this sandwich. I’d put it up against any BLT in the Memphis Metro. I’m also partial to the Chipotle Pimento Cheese. It is phenomenal. That said, a whole sandwich is a bit salty for my taste and I would have trouble finishing one alone. The great thing about my trusty dining sidekick is that she likes the BLT as much as I do, so we typically get one of each and split them. The egg and olive is very well executed, and the kalamata olive bread gives it just a little bit of an extra kick. The kids love the basic turkey and cheese sandwich(without cheese for one of our miniature adult diners), and I am fond of the herbed cream cheese. The last two sandwiches are the ham and Swiss and the chicken salad. Both are pretty basic sandwiches, but perfect for those who want some good, solid comfort food. I do wish the chicken salad had a bit more character, because while it is quite good, it is a bit tame. We’ve not sampled the quiche yet, but it is in the plans. Now, on to the best bits: cupcakes, macaroons and lemon bars. I love the Salted Caramel and the Not A Hostess. The cupcakes themselves are always moist, and while I’m not sure the secret, their frosting is some of the best I’ve had in the Memphis Metro. It’s not piled on 9″ high, nor is it so sweet that your pancreas jumps through your abdominal wall and runs screaming in to the night. It’s just right for my taste. We recently tried the fruit tarts as well, and they were amazing. Again, a perfect balance of sweetness and the fresh fruit was well chosen. The peaches… oh the peaches. There is a slight difference of opinion when it comes to the last two items we’ve tried consistently. My beautiful dining companion loves the lemon bars. They are tart, but not overpowering. The crust is firm and the flavors complement the lemony goodness of the filling. And I admit, they are good. However, I find the coconut basil macaroons to be a tiny bit better. They are moist, flavorful and chock full of basil. I ordered a half dozen recently and had to restrain myself from devouring them all. The plain coconut macaroons are just as delicious, but my heart belongs to the basil. Needless to say, we love Ladybugg Bakery and we dine there relatively often. If you are in the area, I would say they are a «must» for lunch or dessert
