Best Mexican restaurant in Hernando. The atmosphere is very inviting and the food is excellent no matter what it is every time

Ain’t nothing wrong with this Hernando hole in the wall favorite. As someone who did not grow up in this area, I was shocked to see the parking lot full, and almost nowhere to sit in this tiny establishment. We ended up sitting at the small bar, which only has 4 seats, and got a variety of things. They have typical Mexican favorites, breakfast items and even a la carte stuff like bacon, biscuits, etc. I the Chilequiles, Trip got an egg white omelette and his cousin Matt(a local) ordered and«off the menu» item called The Mess. The Chilequiles were good! Nothing about it completely blew my mind, but the chicken was tasty and the whole plate was hot and fresh. Trip’s omelette was surprisingly large, and he ate every bite. The Mess, which turned out to be similar to a massive, messy omelette with everything they have in the back, was the star. Veggies, meats, eggs and cheese all topped with salsa — damn! I understand now why they have such a cult following. Overall friendly and fast service, although there was some confusion at pay time and we weren’t sure where they had taken our card… but they were friendly and resolved it for us. A cozy family stop for great breakfast and Mexican!

Definitely my favorite Mexican place in desoto county so far. I live in Southaven but gladly drive to hernando to eat here. Great prices and great food!!! Best chips and salsa I’ve had so far. Great cheese dip. Today I had the burrito California, which was delicious, everything you’d expect. My husband gets the shredded chicken burritos which he loves. I tried a small 1800 margarita today which was also great! Service is fast and friendly, there isn’t very many tables so I’d suggest trying to go before the typical rush.

Amazing, authentic, inexpensive Mexican food. You will not be disappointed. Yes, if you come before 5 the drinks are ridiculously cheap, but even after that the prices are right. The service was awesome – constant attentiveness and genuine friendliness from the servers. In addition to the wonderful food, I ordered a horchata and it was amazing. I couldn’t eat or drink everything I was given, and my bill was less than $ 10. I did the ala cart so I could try a little bit of everything, and I was not disappointed. Skip the fast food places and chain restaurants, this is the real deal.

Late night dinner run after a long day had me ending up here. I was greeted quickly and i asked about take out. I was given a menu and asked to seat myself. It took almost 10 minutes before i was visited again for my order. I ordered my to go dinner. I was given chips and salsa and my beverage while I waited. 12 minutes later a hot meal packaged and ready to go was delivered. I ordered a chicken tamale which was a little dry but full of flavor. The beef enchilada had a great tomato sauce and was well seasoned. The chili relleno is the best in Hernando. Fun environment and clean. Great food at a great price.

Taco Felix is a nice little restaurant that serves good, fairly priced breakfast food in the mornings, and good Mexican food by day/night. Staff is always super friendly to us, especially the ladies that work the morning breakfast shift. You can either drop $ 20 on 4, sub-par breakfast sandwiches at the crappy Hernando McDonalds, or just spend it instead on a real breakfast, served by friendly and competent staff!

Ended up in Hernando for breakfast and slipped in to taco Felix. We had a very good breakfast and I would say it was better than the dinner we had another time. We table sampled several dishes and everyone enjoyed what they ordered. I would recommend trying whatever sounds good on the menu to you!

BEWARE: MONSTEROMELETTE! Building resembles a Taco Bell type structure with eclectic décor and a few TVs. Nice shades patio. Came for breakfast. Went with the«whole» omelette for 7.99. Holy smokes, that is a large plate of food. Get the side of potatoes w peppers and Carmelized onions for $ 1.99. No frills but great basics at a great price. Very tasty. Very affordable. Very good service.
