My company sent my family a catering order and I must say it was amazing!!! The chicken roulade was delicious!!! Salads were great and agree they don’t do anything pre-​packaged. Fresh salads with really good dressings.

This is one of my favorite places to order lunch for the office (especially when you tire of the let’s-order-pizza mentality that seems to be a default sometimes). They offer a variety of sandwiches and salads that, in my experience, have all been fresh and delicious.
Ordering online is easy and I like that there is pretty much something for everyone. Personally, I love the mandarin chicken salad. The sweet spread that comes with the accompanying roll is amazing.
The deluxe sandwich box lunches come with a cookie, pickle, and either fruit, potato chips, or carrot chips (and a York peppermint patty), which is very satisfying.
Bottom line: A great place to get food and I look forward to ordering from them again soon.

My company had a catered event today, 9/​25, and I have to say it was THE BEST lunch I have ever had at a company sponsored event. We had Executive Box lunches brought in and I was amazed. The breads were soft & fresh like they had just been baked that morning. The meats were thick like they had just been cut from a turkey or ham at a family dinner. The veggies were crisp. The sauces absolutely complimented each sandwich choice. The add-​on salad and dessert were just enough to satify and small enough to be health conscious. Even the individually wrapped pickle slices were fresh & crisp. There was enough in the box to fill us up with snacks for later in the day. No one left hungry or unhappy. Thank you ASJ for making lunches the way they should be made. YUM!!!

Good box lunches with a lot of options and a lot of food. Online ordering makes ordering much easier. Never had a problem with delivery times or pick up times. Food is always ready when requested.

I had a company function and needed to order lunch in for our team and someone recommended Apple Spice Junction. I was very impressed with their box lunches and the variety of their entire menu. We stuck with the box lunches this time and everyone was very pleased. I loved that they had several different types of bread (bread was so fresh) that also partnered up with their signature sauces. Look no further, this is the place to go! I have been eating box lunches like this for over 10 years and never had anything this good before, not your typical box lunch. And the price, you cannot beat the quality, freshness, portions and the excellent staff. I was able to hold a time of delivery while still finalizing the order throughout the day. Delivery was on time and not one mistake was made with any of the orders. You can definitely tell that someone is making this lunch for you. Thank you Apple Spice Junction, we will meet again!!!

We used Apple Spice Junction for our office lunch order. Not only did they accommodate at the last minute everyone gave rave reviews for how delicious the sandwiches were. I will continue to use them in the future. A welcome change from pizza.

I can’t say enough about this place! I had never heard of them before until I had their box lunches at my office a few times and have always been impressed with their food, so my fiancé and I decided to try them out for our possible wedding caterers and let me say, not only is their food really good, their staff is great! Lou and Jean (sp?) set everything up for our taste testing and we couldn’t have felt more special and cared about. Very personable and detail oriented. Highly recommended! Can’t wait to have them cater our wedding!

I originally ordered the «Creamy Crab Chowder», first off Do NOT order this unless you like to eat shells! Seriously — every bite I had, which was very few, had some form of crab shell in it. It wasn’t creamy and it was ridiculously spicy!
Onto the redemption…
I called after the crab soup disaster and the Deli Manager Daniel bent over backwards to make it right! He asked if I’d like to order something else free of charge, so I asked for the Tuna Sandwich box lunch. He sent it to me the next day, free of charge, the potato salad is yummy, it comes with a pickle, cookie and peppermint patty chocolate but the SANDWICH — OMG SOOOOOOOOOO YUMMY! I asked for Provolone cheese instead of swiss but WOW! The bread is as soft and fresh as you can imagine, the tuna is done just right… I don’t even want to eat to fast because I’ll be sad when I’m done LOL!
Daniel — Thank you for redeeming Apple Spice Junction! I will 100% be ordering from Apple Spice Junction again… I’ll just steer clear of the crab «chowder»!

My company often orders catering from Apple Spice Junction and I have always been impressed with both the quality and the variety of what they deliver. The salads are fresh, the bread tastes homemade and their chocolate chip cookies taste just like my grandma’s.
I’m always happy to see their napkins in the conference room when it’s lunch time.

If I’m home during the week I’ll order a couple of Executive lunches. Good sandwiches at reasonable prices

The customer service at Apple Spice is the best I’ve ever seen. Everyone at my company loves ordering from Apple Spice and we are never disappointed. The food is always fresh and on time. We can always rely on the manager, Laura, to give us nothing but the best. I highly recommend!

Headed a little downhill. My office used to order from this location or the now-​closed one in Reston on a pretty regular basis, but we stopped because delivery was a challenge at times. (If you want delivery around noon, make sure to have your order in no later than 10:30 AM.)
We recently ordered lunch from them for the first time in several months and were kind of disappointed overall:
— The slices of avocado in my Turkey Avocado sandwich was not ripe enough; mostly yellow. ASJ used to use mashed avocado in the perfect shade of green (like guacamole-​green).
— There was significantly less turkey in my sandwich. Like, half what I remember, maybe less! Sadface. :(
— The pickles are much smaller and… sad looking than they used to be.
— Cookies are much smaller and not as tasty as they used to be.
— Mints in the box lunches have been replaced with York Peppermint Patties, which is a small perk I guess, but a cookie and York is a little much. I’d rather have a better sandwich.
— Prices have gone up since we last ordered from Apple Spice, and I’m not sure the sandwiches are worth what you’re paying now.
If you’ve never tried this place before, feel free to give it a shot, just don’t have high hopes of finding your favorite sandwich and salad place. It’s not terrible, it’s just not amazing.

I am editing my current review and basing it off our last week long experience with Apple Spice.
I’ve had mixed experiences with Apple Spice in the past but it seems like the company is taking a step way up in a positive direction. I had them do the catering for breakfast and lunch at my company for a Sales Event and was very pleasantly surprised.
They were early and never late. They always came back to clear the setup when asked and the food quality was fresh, hot and delicious.
We’ll happily be using them in the future and I’d recommend them.

This place has good food, but the price is not in line what what yo are getting. I stop in here when it is a convenience issue. The soups are good also, but you get shot glass and $ 199.99.

Hidden treasure in Herndon. If you are in the market for a fresh salad, sandwich, or soup in a relaxing environment (i.e. the antithesis of Panera), this is where you should go. The mandarin chicken salad is delicious. Do yourself a favor and go.

I used to eat here at least once a week. I used to work next door so it was easy. I love the roast beef sandwich as well as the egg salad. The cookies are to die for too!

I’ve actually never been to the physical location but the client I work with in the area usually caters lunch from here. I’ve had salads and sandwiches here and I think they do a decent job with everything. I dig the other options for sides (carrots and ranch, genius!) and that they make all of their own dressing for the salads.
My recommendations: the club sandwich and the salad with apple and bacon — the vinaigrette is really fantastic.

Apple Spice is my go-​to for office catering. Their box lunch menu offers up a wide variety of salad/​sandwich/​soup combos to please just about everyone. I can easily take care of the vegetarians and gluten free diets and stay on budget.
Sandwiches come with your choice of side — chips, carrots, salad, soup, pasta salad or potato salad. Folks pretty much always want the pasta salad in my office. The salads are overloaded with goodies and include a mint and bread. Before you roll your eyes about bread, it’s really good bread. A slice of white bread and a slice wheat bread so fresh incredibly fresh you know it’s made on site.
My personal favorite, and obsession of the moment, is the apple walnut salad. Chunks of apple, bacon, candied walnuts, carrots and cheese make this salad so light yet filling.
Delivery or pick up, my food is always ready on time. The staff is friendly and helpful in person or on the phone. Even better you can order online for delivery or pick up.

I’m just glad I didn’t have to pay for it. The training center I was at presented me with a menu for lunch and I chose the Chicken Cashew Sandwich. I wasn’t really expecting a Chicken Salad w/​Cashew Sandwich but it was alright. The white bread was super moist, but the lettuce was limp. The chicken salad itself was okay and the cashews really just seemed a bit random. The cookie that comes with the lunchbox is nothing near spectacular as you might expect from reading the other reviews. Overall it was okay, but if I had to spend my own money on it I probably wouldn’t.

After a trip in South America, where eating raw veggies was a no-​no (yea, i cheated a little) I really wanted a nice salad for lunch. I realize that ASJ is probably more known for their catering options, I decided to stop in for a soup and salad. I didn’t even know this place was in the area.
I went for the ½ soup/​salad — the tortilla soup was very tasty and came with a nice bag of corn chips and sour cream. The salad was very fresh and green and was accompanied by two fresh slices of bread.
The whole meal came to $ 9 without a drink. It was pretty good and I would consider coming back here again… though i would likely get a different salad on its own, it was a bit plain.
