Incredibly rude service for a long time customer. They gave me Lamb Curry when I ordered the Lamb Kabob. When I called up and told the manager he insisted I ordered the Curry. I didn’t even know they had Lamb Curry. I’ve been ordering the same Lamb Kabob dish for 10 years. After arguing for several minutes he offered to give me the Lamb Kabob if I brought back the Curry dish but refused to admit he made the mistake. To top it all off he insinuated I was trying to scam him or something when I suggested I shouldn’t have to pay for the Kabob since it was clearly his mistake. Go to Sorrentos, Shamshiry, or Moby Dicks where you’ll find far friendlier service and better kabobs.

Love this place. Best kabobs around this area, great service, very clean place. Lamb chops are the best!

The kabob itself was tasting good. That’s all. The amount of meat on my lamb kabob was ridiculously small. The rest of the plate was basically rice and LOTSOFBREAD. The«salad» shouldn’t be called salad. Just thick lettuce ends and one piece of tomato. The side dish was very small too. So I ended up eating a very small amount of food considering I won’t fill myself with bread and tasteless rice.

This place is utterly disappointing and I wish there was a lower rating than 1. The kebabs were uncooked/raw and were stinking with onion smell. The chicken karahi I ordered had raw taste of turmeric spices. The food I ordered ended up in trash because it was just not edible. The items are pricier than average($ 20 dollars for ONE freaking dish full of uncooked chicken breast pieces and raw spices and oil) and I would definitely not recommend especially if you have a south east asian palette. I speak for myself but for me this place is a sure NO-GO.

Excellent lamb chops known as «rib kababs.» Sides are decent as well including the chanaa/chickpeas.

Great food. I love the low carb option. It makes it feel like a healthier choice. I ordered the tandoori chicken and chicken kabob. Both were cooked perfectly. The tandoori was a little spicy — in a good way. The wait was a few minutes but it was worth getting fresh food. I would recommend calling ahead if you’re stopping by for take out.

I’m always in the mood for a good new kabob place and decided to give charcoal a try since i was in the area. I got the lamb and chicken combo which was great quality in terms of the meat. The only thing i was rather disappointed about was the lack of portion in the meal. When paying $ 18 for a combo that large you’d hope to leave stuffed.

If you like kabobs and have never been here, you are really missing out on the pinnacle kabob of all kabobs. This has become my favorite kabob joint since Reston kabob shut down(though RK was pricer, smaller, and slower than here). I always get the chicken kabob w chickpeas but many of my friends have experienced the entire menu. The good thing about charcoal is the plentiful portions and fresh food. You should expect to wait ten minutes even if there is no line because it’s always freshly prepared and hot when served. They fold the naan over the kabobs, which could be overlooked, to only be a great method of having the kabob flavor soak in the naan. I use both the yogurt and green sauce in my naan so by the time I dig in, the naan is juiced with the chicken flavor as well as the two sauces. I’ve never had a bad experience here. I’ll always come here when I’m in the area.

I came here on recommendation from a close friend and honestly, it wasn’t as good as I thought it would be. With a four star review and the amount of foot traffic through there, I was setting my expectations higher. The samosa starter was tasty. The haleem was okay. I can’t say it’s the best I’ve had but it certainly wasn’t the worst. The chapli kabobs my husband had, had no flavor to the meat. However, the vinegar chutney in the fridge added to it made it taste better. The chicken biryani wasn’t that great either. My palak(spinach) was Bengali style, very watery and it had decent flavor. The naan was definitely tasty. The staff is nice, depending on who you get. There is a young gentleman with a beard who is extremely polite and friendly. There is an older gentleman who isn’t as polite and could work on his customer service skills. Overall, I may not come here again but, I wouldn’t say you need to stay away.

I tried the Chicken Kofta and Lamb Kabob Combo with a Somosa. It was excellent. I wanted to try their Gyro, maybe next time.

When visiting relatives in Reston, I beg, cry and stamp my feet to go here! After having eaten here a fistful of times, now, I can safely say that this is one of the best kebab restaurants I ever been to. I’ve sampled nearly everything on their menu and consistently they offer fresh, lean meats grilled perfectly. I recently had the keema kebab, which was spicy, but not overly-so, with a side of spinach-also spicy – perhaps spicier than usual. Served with fresh bread, and very generous scoops of rice. I was stuffed! Yes, I’ll keep begging to go here, that or get a second house in Herndon so I don’t have to! I wonder if they deliver to Baltimore…

We like Kabobs. No, I mean we REALLY like Kabobs. This is THE place to go in this area if you like Kabobs as much as we do. The bread is amazing, and the meats used in their dishes is as good as it gets. The décor is pretty plain, but the dining room is clean. The service is quick, but they are not the most welcoming staff I have ever encountered. Nevertheless, I am here for a kabob, not to make a friend. The sides and sauce are all wonderful, but I usually go for the chickpeas. If I could change anything about his place, and every other kabob house around here, is to eliminate all the plastic and styrofoam. You have this wonderful, savory and aromatic meal, but they serve on styrofoam plates. It really deserves better. Plastic cutlery and then you drink your water from… guess what… styrofoam cups. I know it is cheap and saves them money, but at least get something a little more upscale. Again, if you want the best kabobs in the Reston/Herndon area, this is the place for you!

I’ve been to several kabob places and this place is fairly decent. I ordered the super combo(lamb, chicken, and keema) and it took about 20 minutes for my order to arrive(went on a Saturday afternoon). The lamb was the highlight of this combo as it was very tender and tasty. The chicken was slightly overcooked and didn’t have enough«juices.» The keema was surprisingly spicy compared to the other kabobs I have tried before. It does come with a salad and a side order but overall, I think this place is overrated.

I came here to get the famous lamb kebabs. I placed a telephone order for lamb kebabs and a samosa. I go back to my hotel and there is NO samosa! I even paid for it! grrrr Overall, the food is good but not the best I’ve had. The lentil beans have some good flavor to them. I might have given them a higher review had they not forgotten my samosa!

Charcoal Kabob is fun, friendly, and generally pretty tasty. On a day-to-day basis, they offer a handful of pretty standard Kabobs and a few indian-style dishes.(The place is Halal and doesn’t use much if any dairy so it’s kinda sorta Kosher too if you’re not that strict.) The things to get are the kabobs and the sides. Indian-type food is sometimes a bit subpar. But it’s a really good place for kabobs.

Yum! The hubs and I came to check out Charcoal Kabob, as who doesn’t like their meats being grilled over hickory charcoal?! :D The restaurant, located in the KMart plaza off of Elden, offers appetizers, kabobs, combo platters, and even specials(such as chicken butter masala, beef curry, etc.), all using Halal meats. I tried a Super Combination, which came with a lamb kabob, kubideh, and chicken kabob, with a side of savory basmati rice, salad, a side of your choice(we opted for chickpeas), and a nice generous cup of their yogurt sauce. The chicken kabob was okay, but I really loved the lamb kabob, as it was so juicy, tender, and had a lovely charcoal taste. The kubideh was a bit too spicy for me, so I’ll probably get the non-spicy version next time; it was still very flavorful! The chickpeas had a slight minty taste to it; it was nice and thick, which I really enjoyed, but I’ll probably try to get a different side the next time. The hot crusty Tandoori bread was yummy, and some of the spices from the kabobs left its mark on the bread, making it even better: P I also tried one of their samosas, filled with potatoes, peas, and a little bit of the crushed red pepper — it was slightly spicy, but with its nice buttery flaky crust(which was not too doughy), and dipped in the yogurt sauce, it was tasty. The staff here are oh-so-friendly, and there are plenty of seating inside. I’d love to come back and try out their curries, the karahis, and the beef kabob. Definitely a wonderful place to satisfy your kabob craving: D +Lamb Kabob +Kubideh +flavorful basmati rice +yogurt sauce +uses hickory charcoal: D +friendly staff: D +plenty of parking +to the left of Hot Breads

While visiting Virginia this past weekend, my aunt brought us here for dinner. This place has been running for over 30years now delivering in Afghani/Pakistani Cuisine, so we had to check it out. Here goes my review: Location: located inside a huge plaza with unlimited parking availability. Food: so we ordered various kabobs and meat dishes which included the following: beef koobideh, lamb kabob, chicken kabob, tandoori chicken and chicken kadhai. Sides included: Halim, curried chickpeas, chicken curry, Naan and rice. My favorites were the Lamb kabob and tandoori chicken. Definitely a must if you’re here. I didn’t like the koobideh and felt that it had too much spiced and was dry(very different from Persian koobideh which is soft and juicy). The chicken kabob was also dry. The kadhai chicken wasn’t bad but I’ve had better. I loved the Halim! Though I didn’t try the Naan, everyone loved it! Service: not really much service here. More of like«place your order and pick it up» type of place. Overall, this is quite a big place for a hole in the wall. The food is pretty good and they give very large portions for the price. Though it’s not something that won me over to re-visit when I’m back in town!

Your combo order comes with a side of salad, vegetable curry and basmati rice(long rain from South Asia). Love making a little wrap with the flat bread, put a little bit of rice, curry with meat. Maybe dip it into some more curry, mhhh finger liking good. You get a lot of food for the money, we were so stuffed that had trouble getting into the car. If you happen to be in the area, check it out.
