I walked into Joy & Co on a random day because I had seen an ad for the shop with a 20% coupon. Joy was meeting with another couple and I quickly mentioned I just needed a bouquet and boutonnière and for what date. She gave me her card and told me to email her the specifics. I emailed her within a few days and sent her my pinterest board along with all the details. I know she saw my email because she started to follow my pinterest board. I heard nothing for almost a week. I emailed again asking if she had a quote or needed anything else. NOTHING. I get that she may be busy but wow it has been over 2 weeks and still nothing. I guess if its just a small order like a bouquet and boutonnière for a wedding and I have a coupon then I’m not good enough for her business. Really disappointing. I obviously found another florist in Reston who responded within a few hours and was very happy to help me.

Joy was my wedding coordinator in addition to handling all of my florals, ceremony decorations, reception centerpieces and most other décor, too. Many of her suggestions were incredibly helpful and things that I would not have thought of on my own. I did a lot of the organizing and making vendors selections myself, but then gave her all that compiled info, along with my timeline. She helped me assemble the timeline and provided me with vendor contacts for price quotes on rentals and such. I worked with Joy to plan my wedding in a 5-​month time period, meeting at her studio about once a month to review countless details. We had a lot of fun at her studio coming up with creative solutions and ideas to my DIY approach. One of Joy’s best qualities is her creative brilliance. She gave me so much insight into event planning that I would have otherwise been clueless about, and I definitely attribute much of the success of our wedding to her help. Joy worked through any catering and venue-​related issues like a true professional, maximizing our limited set-​up time. She was even by my side during our portraits with the photographer, to make sure I was holding the bouquet correctly, etc. It is now two months later and I still have friends and family members commenting on how beautiful everything was at our wedding. I would highly recommend Joy for both floral arrangements and event planning!

We needed a special last minute floral arrangement. Joy personally delivered the MOST beautiful flowers directly to our office. These flowers were not what you get from any online company. They were magnificent and beautifully presented. If you are looking for something a cut above, this is where you need to shop for flowers.

Joy and Shauna were my wedding fairy godmothers!!! I had my initial meeting with Joy of Joy Charles Weddings just 5 and a half weeks before our wedding. We had a caterer and venue (Jefferson Memorial for the ceremony and Barns at Wolf Trap for the reception) picked out and pretty much nothing else! Joy and Shauna were up for the challenge. I told them my wedding colors (yellow and grey) and how we wanted a rustic theme. They listened to my vague ideas and built off of them. I was so excited to be marrying the love of my life and best friend but not as excited or confident about the wedding planning. They were so enthusiastic about the wedding that it was contagious! It went from a stressful thing to plan to an absolute «Joy», pun intended!
I used Joy Charles Wedding for both day-​of wedding coordinator services and also Floral Design. They went way, way above and beyond for both services. I shared pinterest pictures with Joy with different ideas such as Shepard hooks with mason jar flowers down the aisle, burlap on the cocktail tables, do-​it-​yourself chalkboard menus etc and she took my visions and made them into a reality even better than I could have imagined!
Shauna was with me for the entire wedding day from early morning when the bridesmaids and I were getting ready to the very last call at the end of the night. She has a sweet and even temperament that is very reassuring. She also knows how to be firm with vendors and makes sure the couple gets exactly what they want. She made sure EVERYTHING was taken care of and dealt with all the things that you do not want to deal with as the bride like limo driver coordination, telling the DJ to change songs because the vibe wasn’t working, shuttle service coordination, after-​party details, water for the bouquets between pictures, a toiletry basket for the ladies room, water and snacks for wedding party, etc.
Joy and Shauna worked very hard to make our wedding day the success that it was and they did it with a smile on their faces and genuine joy and excitement for us. I would recommend their services to anyone getting married in the Washington, DC, Maryland, Virginia area!

Working with Joy was an absolute pleasure! I spoke with numerous floral and reception design studios about my «dream» look for my wedding and no one could really seem to make the look come to life. Joy took my vision and made it better than I could have ever imagined. People are still talking about the flowers and the reception design months later. The venue even wants to use our photos for their brochures because of how great Joy made the location look. I couldn’t have been happier on my wedding day with her work.
