I don’t think I have ever given a restaurant a 5 star review let alone any place. For vegetarian, this place is a godsend. Everything is fresh and the customer service is amazing. Prices are very reasonable under $ 10 for just about anything and the portions are quite large. I have has their vegetarian club which tastes like my mom made it fresh. Their nachos with rotella cheese is delicious. Garden salad is huge and very fresh. The veggie chilli is just to die for. I will be going back to this place time and time again.

McCalisters catered my husband’s retirement party and did an excellent job. Guests raved about the food and service. Heather and Dori will make your event special. They provide options and the specialty serving pieces that make your event look high end. I will definitely use them again.

McAllister’s is waaaay far from me but I will make a special trip here(and pay tolls… Ugh) for their AMAZING chicken salad! Went today and tried their mac & cheese for the first time. Yum! That’s good stuff — very cheesy and creamy, just like homestyle. You should also try their sweet tea. It’s like no other sweet tea I’ve ever had. Plus, you get a huge cup so you can savor it for awhile. It is a bit expensive but portions are large and they bring your food to your table so no complaints here. Apparently they also specialize in mashed potatoes? I’m not sure but it’s offered on their menu so I guess a lot of people like them. May try them next time I make the trip there.

The tortilla soup is great, the sandwiches are pretty good too. I probably go twice a week and everything is always consistent. The wait staff always friendly

Good local place to get a quick lunch. Good selection of sandwiches and salads, good prices. The staff was very nice and walked around collecting dirty dishes and asking about refills which was appreciated.

I’ve never had anything but a positive experience here! Food and service are always A+. Unlike other businesses, the online ordering process always goes smoothly. I’m a frequent customer! :)

Love this place! Staff is always friendly, pleasant place to eat. Their Savannah Chop Salad is my #1 favorite salad anywhere. Their iced tea is perfect, and they are always willing to refill. Surprisingly great place because the exterior is totally unassuming — I might never have stopped there if a friend had not shown it to me. I 100% recommend.

I eat here pretty regularly because I’m in this shopping center weekly due to one of my kid’s activities. Never had a problem with anything because everyone I’ve dealt with does a good job. Was in Saturday at lunch time and ordered the French Dip which is my usual order. Noticed the sandwich was smaller than usual and one of the halves was an end piece from the bread loaf. but, it wasn’t a big enough difference for me to bring it up to anyone so I just started eating. After a little while, a young guy came around asking how things were. I told him about the small sandwich and that I’ve ordered it plenty of times before and knew what size it should be and he asked me if there was something I’d like done to resolve the issue. It wasn’t a big deal to me since they had done so well before so I said«please just makes sure this doesn’t happen again» and he said no problem. A few minutes later, the same young man came back and said«we’re going to make you another half of your sandwich». I was really surprised and sure enough, a few minutes later another guy came out with half a French Dip on a plate. I thought that it was great that they would go ahead and do that for me without me asking. Def some of the best customer service I’ve had in a while and it will def keep me coming back.

I found this restaurant by mistake. Someone else scheduled a lunch meeting here. I typically never go to deli’s as a general rule. I was diagnosed with Celiac disease about 21 years ago when no one had even heard of a gluten free diet, so sandwiches are typically out. Imagine my amazement when I stepped up to order and found that they had gluten free bread! One of my favorite sandwiches was a Ruben. I’ve not had one in 21 years! So I ordered a turkey Ruben and it was AMAZING! It was such a treat! I will be a regular here from now on!

My wife and I have always enjoyed McAlisters. We travel a lot and we’re happy to find one around here. We got in early before the the lunch rush to find the manager/cashier panicking and yelling to other employees. She was expressing her difficult day to other employees and letting us all know about how bad of a day it was. I was very disappointed. As for the atmosphere and food, everything was good. Sandwich was a bit slimmer than we are used to but we were happy. It was clean and comfortable with heat. McAlister’s club and sweet tea is great for lunch n Service, they only had one girl working to bring out the food so no refill at the table when I wanted it. There is always the option to go up and ask before you hit the road.

The soup wasn’t warm enough and it was very obvious everything was prepackaged and not fresh. The food was presented beautifully and the staff was very nice. Not sure what I was expecting but would have much rather gone to a Panera…

I love McAllister’s and have dined at several other locations across the country. This was my first visit to this location. From the time I walked in to the time I placed my order, at least 10 minutes passed and there were only 2 people ahead of me. Even at extremely busy locations, my wait has never been more than 5 minutes. There is no way this location would be able to properly service a high volume location effectively. The staff was under trained and while my order was correct, several others had to wait for their order to be corrected. Good food, fair pricing, welcoming atmosphere but extremely poor service, especially compared to other locations.

Some items are hit and miss in flavor but McAlister’s is good for a quick sandwich. The price is reasonable and you can get out of there with a sandwich and a drink for ~$ 10.

I have nothing negative to say. One of my favorite places. Caesar salad and chipotle sandwich is by far my favorite. Oh, the tea is gross in my opinion, but it’s their own. Love this place !

We get catered lunches and dinners for work from them quite often and have to say I have had nothing bad from them; custom sandwich orders or generic make-your-own sandwich and salad plates. Just had them a week a go for a working lunch w/make your own sandwich platter and a large salad bowl. They also bring a giant bags of chips vs. the normal many small bags of chips. The chips are always fresh in my experience. Out of all the places we use for catering like this(sandwiches/salads) I have to say I prefer McAlisters the best.

The food here is good, but I think it is a little over priced. If you go for lunch go early to beat the crowd. It gets busy fast in this place.

I’ve been a fan of McAlister’s since I discovered one in Athens, GA back during my college days, so I was happy to see one open up in Herndon at the Worldgate Shopping Center a couple of years ago. I agree with some of the three-star reviews that state that the staff could be a bit more attentive, or at least smile, but they do prepare orders accurately, and they are delivered promptly to your table. The menu is definitely huge, so it can be overwhelming your first few times here, but I like that I can look at the menu outside without holding up the line with my neck craned skyward, mouth-breathing as I belabor my decision. Over time, I’ve found that I like their half sandwich/cup soup/half salad«pick two» option. It’s like the«You Pick 2» from Panera, but with, in my opinion, better options, fresher ingredients, and better serving sizes. Their soda cups are also HUGE and they have a Coca Cola Freestyle machine, plus their famous iced tea and lemonade. I find that when I order the sandwich/soup option, that the sandwich itself is pretty filling, but I don’t have a huge sandwich appetite. I love the Turkey Southwest Melt and the Vegetarian Chili. I also am a fan of just about every salad there. If you’re looking for a larger sandwich, get a full order of any of their sandwich options, especially the«melts» or «clubs.» The full salads are also really large. Everything is made-to-order and is brought to your table. The ingredients taste fresh and the items such as grilled chicken taste like they’ve actually been grilled, as opposed to being pulled from a bag. My advice for you if you like soup in a breadbowl is to avoid McAlister’s version. It’s the one thing they don’t seem to do well, as the breadbowls are consistently dry and crumbly, as opposed to chewy and soft(maybe the one thing Panera does better).

3 ½ Stars ****** After seeing Donald F.‘s review, I bookmarked this place, then showed the online menu to my husband. We both agreed that we would like to give it a try. So… we came here on a Friday around 5 p.m. At that hour, there were only a few people in there and one person ahead of us in line. There were only 2 people working — the cashier, who also cleaned tables, and the owner or manager who was making the food. The cashier was very friendly and helpful. McAllister’s has a huge menu. It’s a good thing that I looked at it before coming here. Otherwise, I might have been standing there staring at the menu board for a long time trying to decide what to order. I ordered one of the«Melts». With a Melt, you have your choice of meat — either Black Angus roast beef, Black Forest ham or Butterball smoked turkey. I chose the roast beef. This sandwich also consists of «Applewood smoked bacon, sharp cheddar, lettuce, tomatoes, spicy brown mustard and lite mayo on a toasted 6 inch wheat hoagie». For my side, I chose chips. Each sandwich also comes with a pickle. My husband ordered«McAllister’s Club» which consists of «Butterball smoked turkey, Black Forest ham, Applewood smoked bacon, sharp cheddar, Swiss, lettuce, tomatoes, McAllister’s Honey Mustard and lite mayo on sliced wheat bread». He also chose chips for his side. We each got a small soda. There is a big difference between the small and the large soda. When we saw how large the large cups were, we chose the small size. The soda is self-serve. They have one of those touch screen soda machines. By the soda machine, there is a sign that says if you want to leave a tip, it will be donated to charity. As for the sandwiches — While eating my sandwich, I noticed that there was no bacon on it. The owner(manager?) had come out of the kitchen to ask us how the sandwiches were. I asked her about the bacon. She apologized for forgetting it and said that her kitchen staff wasn’t in and she was the only one making the sandwiches. Then she had the cashier bring out two thin, small slices of bacon. The spicy mustard was very tangy rather than spicy and almost took over the whole sandwich. The roast beef was good quality and decent. Not the best roast beef I’ve ever had, but far from the worst. For example, I’ll take it over Arby’s anytime. Adding the bacon really didn’t seem to make a big difference. I was pleased that sandwich wasn’t overstuffed. So given the 6-inch roll size, it turned out to be just the right amount of food and I didn’t leave feeling overly full. My husband really liked his club sandwich. He, on the other hand, felt really full after eating. Comparing his sandwich to mine, it is clear that his was larger in terms of the filling. After eating, he said that he would like to come back here again. I agree with that and will try another sandwich next time. The meal cost just under $ 20. The dining area and the area around the soda machine is kept very clean.

It was another one of those days at work. Where a few of my colleagues and I wanted to go some where different for lunch but we weren’t sure where we wanted to go. So after a bit of deliberation one of my coworkers just shouted out McAlister’s. Of course I agreed with this choice, because not only did I want something different for lunch, but in addition to that I’m a Unilocaler, and it is pretty much my duty to try all things new and report back to my fellow Unilocalers. Let me just say that I’m absolutely glad we went. This place to me is like a hidden gem. Although my colleagues and I got our meals to go I just wanted to state that the atmosphere and layout of McAlister’s is very inviting. It seems that although it looks like a small whole in the wall from the outside you would be surprised to see the size of this place when you enter. I said all that just to say that I think anyone would enjoy eating in this establishment especially if you’re with a group. As for the meal I ordered, which I enjoyed. I thought was a little on the pricey side for a sandwich. Although you do get a side with your meal(depending on what you order). I ended up getting the Grilled Chicken Club and an apple for my side which came out to be over $ 8. Although the meal was pricier than I wanted it to be the sandwich was pretty tasty and my apple was fresh. Because I think this place is a bit on the pricey side for me, it won’t be an everyday lunch spot, but I will most definitely be back to try some of McAlister’s other food items.

This place is pretty simple. Walk up place your order, get a number, pay, find a table, then your food is brought to you. This was my first time here, I came here with a friend for lunch. I decided to get a ruben with a side of chips. After we placed our orders, we found a table and waited. The restaurant clean and was not too full. Our food didn’t take too long to come out. The first thing I noticed was the toasted bread for the ruben. I guess that is a healthier way of preparing it. I’m sure to the nice layer of grease on my rubens :) Flavor wise, this sandwich was pretty average. It wasn’t greasy, so if you are looking for a healthier version, this is the one. I know next time to try something else. This one wasn’t bad, just not very ruben tasting. I’ll go back and try something else. The people there were very friendly. Parking out front fills up fast, so you might have to park aways, but then again this is in the Worldgate strip, it always fills up fast.
