When this place opened it was easily a five star rating(for fast food anyway), but since then both the quality of the food preparation and the service have progressively degraded and degraded and degraded… The last time I went here, I ordered kung pao chicken and crab wontons. I received the kung pao chicken but no wontons. I asked the waiter about my appetizer to which he responded«Oh yeah, the wontons right?»(He knew what I ordered, I didn’t have to tell him). He then apologized politely, saying he’d be back with them as soon as they were done, and then apparently left the restaurant. I didn’t see him again and I was there for another 30 minutes or so. It took me about 20 minutes to finish the soggy kung pao and run out of patience for the appetizers. I went up to the lady at the register and asked for a refund for them. She was mortified by the situation and was very apologetic and nice about it, but had to get the on duty manager to approve the refund. The woman who was managing the place at the time was extremely rude. Her body language and tone of voice were very derogatory. She did refund me for the whopping $ 3.89 plus tax for the wontons(and only the wontons) but made a very big show of how put out she was doing so.

This seems to be the more sophisticated cousin of Panda Express. In addition to the standard stir fry rice bowls, they have sushi rolls, lettuce wraps, and noodle bowls. There were lots of different stir fry choices, but most of them looked like variations on the theme of «sweet sauce plus some amount of spice.» I’m not sure I could tell them apart. And the quality of the food was okay but not great. They do offer their stir fry bowls with lettuce wraps instead of rice, which is nice. Also, you can get extra veggies for a small fee. I highly recommend doing that as the regular size portion is not very big, so the veggies will help to fill up your plate. The atmosphere is nicer than I expected. It doesn’t have that same cafeteria feel of some other quick casual places, since you order your food at the counter and then someone brings it to you. All in all, a good place to catch a bite with friends. Espcially if you like lettuce wraps.

I enjoyed the two meals I’ve had here mostly because service was quick and responsive. I asked for no snap/snow peas and both times my requests were fulfilled, unlike my experience at another much busier Pei Wei location. Usually I order the veggies and tofu with teriyaki or Thai Dynamite sauce on brown rice. Yay! Vegan options :) I just learned that the teriyaki sauce likely has honey, though, so do your research.

Good as always! But in summer time grab a jacket, if you get cold easily, the air conditioning is too high. And unfortunately the patio area that they have is always dirty and not appealing. Food is good for a Chinese fast food.

My rating is solely based on the taste of the food. I absolutely love and know a wide range of Asian cuisine. The food at Pei Wei often has a strong taste of vinager, and frankly, all the dishes taste the same to me. It’s not a bad place to go eat but if I have a hankering for Spicy Thai Chicken, I want to taste just that and not Kung Pao Chicken. The place is nice and seems clean, but I am more about the food I eat and how satisfying it is.

Can’t go wrong with the Peiwei spicy chicken or DanDan noddles. Pick up times tend to be up-and-down sometimes ready within 15 minutes sometimes taking longer than 30 minutes. That’s my only complaint.

No flavor. This location also had terrible service but we have only been there once and they messed up our carryout. Beyond that they need to be very careful of allergies. I found a peanut in my food(and I didn’t order Kung pao). Food is mediocre at best.

Chicken Pad Thai — is now my favorite dish! The prices are fair, and the food is delicious. The set up for a «To Go» order is very easy — you are in and out in minutes. The menu is lit, you select, you pay/swipe and wait. You may hear the folks working on your meal, and you can smell the pure goodness of what is about to make your taste buds scream with happiness. Thanks guys!

Pei Wei is casual dining. Affiliated with P. F. Chang’s I think. Great Asian food cooked to order with fresh ingredients. Order and pay at register, food is delivered. I liked it a lot.

Pei Wei is A-Ok! My rhyme is almost better than the food and service though! We come here when we can’t decide where else to go or on this occasion because the place we planned to go had a wait time of over an hour! Sort of a fall back place… Tonight’s meal was fine… we find it to be hit or miss here. The food never comes out together so if you try to be polite and wait for the rest of your table to be served — someone is eating cold food. If you don’t wait — then someone is always eating while others are still waiting or are already done because their food come out so quick. I wish they could figure this out. On this particular evening they lost power and the dining room lights were out. The manager went to Harris Teeter and bought candles(scented) and were lighting them on all the tables. Let’s just say that was interesting… glad we were done before it got too dark. I do like that they have small and larger entrees now. The small is a more reasonable amount of food. I still should take some home but it’s easier to eat the whole thing. We’ll keep going there when we are in a pinch or need a quick bite. You can almost get in and out of there in a reasonable amount of time and it’s never bad — just A-OK.

I hate Pei Wei, period point blank. Yeah, I know those are strong words, but they are over-priced for the amount of food you get. I ordered the chicken fried rice today and it was just plain nasty. Who puts green and red bell pepper in their chicken fried rice? And who decided that by adding broccoli to it would make them stand out from the other Chinese food restaurants that have chicken fried rice with waaaaaaay more flavor. I don’t know, maybe it’s because it’s MSG-less which make it taste so funny. Also, WHEREISTHECHICKEN??? Come on now! I pay close to 9 bucks for a meal and there is no meat, just endless rice with red and green bell peppers. Anyway, I will not waste my money there, ever again. Pei Wei is way over-rated.

I just ordered Kung Pao Chicken and can’t believe how small the portions are now. It used to be that their food was served on a small platter where you were given a serving spoon and you would spoon what you wanted on to your plate. Now your portion is on a plate with a huge mound of rice. When the lady brought my food I thought maybe it was the small portion and she replied that it was their normal size portion. I told her I’d hate to see what their small size looked like. Pei Wei’s doesn’t seem to know what they want to be anymore because anytime I go in something has changed. For instance, it used to be they kept sliced oranges and lemons by the tea stands then someone in upper management made the absurd change that the orange and lemon slices had to be kept on a separate counter which meant another stop to get the fruit to go with the tea. Well they must have received alot of flak because that got switched back. They used to keep small cotainers of the hot mustard with the chile paste in the wall cubbyhole but now you have to ask for the mustard which means another stop for a condiment. They used to keep on each table a spindle with a top to it that held your order number which was also used by many of us to give a small tip to the person bringing your food but not anymore. Tables are completely bare and lacking in personality. The biggest change I’ve noticed is the lack of people. I’m here right now and it’s going on 6:30 and I’m literally the ONLY person here. It used to be that the place would be packed and lots of people standing around waiting for their takeout. I think I heard that Pei Wei is related to PF Changs and I was there a couple weeks ago and that was sure a disappointment too(food was cold and had to wait almost 30 minutes for our cocktails). For some reason whenever there’s a successful restaurant that’s taken over, you can usually be assured it won’t be for the better because once you get the bean counters involved all they care about is the bottom line instead of what made the restaurant popular in the first place. True bummer.

One of our favorite places to dine for Chinese food in Herndon. In spite of being busy the quality of the food is really good and the staff is friendly. All dishes are made to order and always fresh. We ordered the crab and mango sushi which was served very cold. The rest of our food was cooked really well. Very happy to have a great Chinese restaurant close to the downtown Herndon area.

Extremely americanized and bland chinese food. The big catch here is that you choose the style and then the meat that you get it in. However none of them really stand out or get it right. The korean style dishes dont taste anything like they should. The carryout area is always a mess, and the person back there always seems annoyed. I’d only reccomend the mongolian beef here which is pretty good. But overall very uninspired food.

Let me just start by saying the only thing that was right at this place was the soda machine. I came here for the sushi which I was told was«sold out» that night, so I disappointedly ordered the sweet and sour chicken with NO green peppers. My meal was served with green peppers and the taste was so overpowering I took only one bite. To add to the annoyance, the staff(2 young girls) were leaning around«whooing» and causing a rather a rather unpleasant dining environment. I would not recommend this place to someone who hasn’t eaten in 6 years. Terrible experience. Yuck.

Greasy, salty, Americanized-Asian food at a semi-fast food place. That’s what Pei Wei is. I remember going to Pei Wei a few times in its earlier years(around 2008) but I definitely haven’t been in a few years. I guess being Chinese myself, I have little appreciation for fast-food Chinese food – although from time to time I will admit all I want are some MSG laden noodles. My favorite on the menu is the Lo Mein, and the Crab Wontons appetizer is really good too(although with a cream cheese filling, how can you even call that Asian food?). I guess it hits the spot and satisfies that cheap Asian food cravings, but not really worth coming to.

It’s a Pei Wei, as good or better than most I’ve seen. Service is good even at lunch time. It’s nice that they will put the sauce on the side or leave it out entirely. Veggie dishes are labeled, brown rice is available. It’s a good option in the Crossing area.

I’ve been here first time, i ordered Shrimp with brown rice, the restaurant was full, so i had to wait 15mins. Disappointed, i don’t know what made they confused, the waitress gave me 2 bowls of shrimp with white rice, i have no idea what was going on, i asked them and they said that what i ordered. «???» I’m not hard customer, so i said it’s fine then tried my «wrong» meal and really satisfied with it, definitely delicious. And after my third spoon everything would be great if they didn’t come to me and took my «wrong meal» away and gave me another wrong one, Chicken and brown rice, well, it wasn’t as good as the first one. I think they might too busy, hopefully, they won’t make it happen again with other customers.

Ginger broccoli sauce wasn’t mixed with(enough) water in my takeout. Terribly salty. And since it sits on a bed of rice, it wasn’t feasible to mix water in myself.

Just not a fan. Been here a dozen times following coworker’s lead. Can’t quite put my finger on why, but every time I eat here I leave with a «meh» taste in my mouth. The veggies seem fresh enough, the meat is cooked okay. but the flavor just is always off for some reason. The online ordering is good and efficient, the staff is friendly. The hot mustard is good… but the food just doesn’t taste that good. not as good as chinese from a chinese take out place. Can’t really explain it, its funny because my coworker and I were talking about it and she says the same thing. It seems like it should be really good… but it just falls flat for some mysterious reason. Wish I could put my finger on it, but I can’t seem to do it. Sorry Pei Wei, not really a fan, but with that being said, I will most likely find myself back inside you one day regardless. Like a lemming to water.
